Lucie is 14 months and has just started playing with her girlie bits whenever her nappy is off, like in the bath or getting changed. I figure it's all just exploration, particularly as she seems bemused now we have DS and she seems fascinated with what's between his legs lol. Is it normal? And do we just leave her to explore (and hope she stops in her own time) instead of trying to get her to stop?
I think it sounds normal. i know most children are facinated with parts of there body. I'd say let her stop in her own time cause otherwise she may get in her head that these are naughty or dirty parts rather than them just being a normal part of the body.

Kaitlyn has started doing things like that to ...she tends to bang her toys down there when she is playing on the change table or in the bath . I just ignore it as I am sure it is normal ..so not worried .

i think this is the norm for children to do this, My DD is nearly 2 and she does this sometimes, i just leave her to do it, sometimes she says it is sore and that is normal as well ( i took her to the doctors) i think they will stop in there own time
My DD also went through a stage of playing around, but after a couple of weeks once she figured out it wasnt going anywhere she lost interest! I just pretty much let her have a bit of a play rather then make a big fuss about it.
Definately normal for both sexes, trust me! Paige is 2 and still touches herself when her nappy is off. We don't enforce that it is a bad thing to do or anything, but we still tell her not to play with it, becuase now it has gone past the exploration stage and it is a hygiene thing too.
Jenna yanks on her bits...... she is very aware of them!!
Tamsin has just started doing this too (she's 12 months) and apart from when she needs a wipe first, I just let her. I think it's just exploring.

Yep DD does this as well and she's two next month.
We just ignore it - though if she starts going "porn star" when daddy is changing her nappy he usually says something to her LOL.
