how do you put baby to bed?

just wondering how to put bubs to bed!!
sophie has been in a sleeping bag since 10 weeks and i have always placed her on her back and tucked her in so she doesnt wriggle around. now i think she's getting either frustrated on her back or uncomfortable and wants to move around. but of course i'm worried about her getting arms, legs head stuck if i just place her in bed to find her own spot, or she wont sleep because she'll move around. she has started to wake up more after going to bed at night and is unable to put herslf back to sleep, something she has always been able to do, i'm not sure if it;s a stage, teething or sleeping arrangments, what do i do!!!!

Until recently, Nina never liked being tucked into the blankets. I would just put her in bed with warm enough clothes on, and when she was asleep I'd drape a blanket over her. Since it's been a bit cooler lately, she'll let me tuck her in. I've also started using a sleeping bag which she doesn't mind either.
Not being able to put herself back to sleep could be teething. Does she have a comforter?

I put milo in on his back and always have. Since he's been about 7 months old, he's flipped straight over to his tummy and stays that way all night.

some nights he is pretty sleepy or totally asleep already, after his bottle, but the past few nights he has not wanted his milk at all and I'm thinking it might be gone pretty soon.

He goes through stages of being able and unable to self settle on waking. Ususally if he doesn't its because he is in pain or becuase he has rolled into the side of the cot and woken himself up completely. when this happens, the fastest way to settle him is to hand him over to DH and he will drop ohh in under 30 seconds. If he's sick then I will sleep with him in the spre room on the futon mattress. There has never been a problem with him going back to sleep in his cot on his own once he is better.

Also, 8-9 months old is a milestone period I think and wuite common for night sleeping to be disturbed as the babies apparently practise crawling/standing/walking etc, its in one of Pinky's books, I will see if I can find the quote...

I put Chelsea in bed on her back and tuck her in.. within 30 seconds she has flipped and on her tummy or curls up tucking her hands under herself. Bit like when u see Anne Geddes babies laying!

i put maddy on her back but about 20 mins or so she is flipping over and sleeps like that most of the night..

thanks guys fro the imput!! i put her down for her afternoon nap and she soon wiggled out and explored the cot!!! finally fell asleep on her side with her feet out the rails, very cute!! but she seemed happy so will let her decide what she wants tonight!

Jesse is in a grobag plus blankets as it is just too cold here at night. During the day its just blankets. Now hes moving around, as soon as i put him in bed, he rolls over, stands up, kicks off any blankets etc. So i just let him get comfortable and fall asleep. He prefers to sleep on his tummy but before i go to bed (or once he's asleep) i go in, roll him back over and tuck him in.

Ds goes down on his back, but flips straight over to his belly. he is 10mnths., he is in a sleeping bag, and moves around the cot all night, this is why we dont have blankets in there. as he will always end up the opposite end of the cot quite cute.. if we were ot ahve blankets, i would be worried that he would get tangled up in them...
