Hi girls, I just wanted to give out a big :grouphug: I try to read through this thread once or twice a week, and I'm sorry that you all seem to be going through a hard time :( Nicholas is doing all the same things as your bubs, not that it's any consolation. I tell you what, my life has become a lot less stressful since I just accepted it, and go with the flow. If he wants to be fed to sleep, I do it, if wants to be rocked to sleep (which is alot of the time), I do it, if he wants to sleep for a couple of hours in our bed, I do it. It's amazing how much better I feel! Yeah, I'll probably pay for it down the track, but right now I really don't care. You have to do what keeps you sane I reckon. He is a happier baby too, I guess because he's getting more sleep. And DH is happier because I'm not so snappy with him LOL.
Aren't the days up and down though? There are still times when I want to pull my hair out, and DH has to take over, but on the whole I'm just enjoying this age sooooooooo much! All the smiles and giggles and learning, it's so cute :) Mind you, everyone seems to think that he *might* be teething, but I wouldn't have a clue! I feel like a useless mother sometimes, I tell you.
I hope you can all get some much needed sleep soon. Sleep deprivation really is torture...............

I'm with you Sez. I'm just doing what Livvy wants, when and how she wants it and i'll worry about everything else when I have too. I'm so much happier too. Dave & I actually had fun this morning laughing, joking and mucking aroundwith each other. It was so nice instead of me yelling and snapping at him.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend in this gorgeous weather.
Chat soon everyone.

Hi Everyone,
I will definately keep you all in mind if I need to chat.
I am not breastfeeding I had to give up as Corey wasnt gaining weight so started him on formula when he was 5 weeks old and he is thriving now. I think that might be a factor in my PND as well as everything else.
He is being good for me, having a few off nights with him, I think he is teething but other than that he is doing really well.
He will be back soon. He has been at his dad's for the weekend, cant wait for him to come back. I miss him so much when he isnt here.
Hope you are all keeping well.
Hayley and Corey.

Hayley- there is absolutely nothing for you to feel stupid about. I think I should have been on ADs too - there were definitely times when there just seems to be nothing in the world to look forward to. This mummy thing is incredibly hard, and if I'm reading your post right, you're a single mum so I can't imagine how difficult it is for you. Your cooking class sounds brilliant - enjoy.
Dan - OMG. I'm still laughing! That's hilarious. I'm glad you're having a good time with your DH. Its so awful when you end up crabby all the time. I will find out what flavour Ned is (I'm hoping it will make me more excited about being pregnant!), and yep, I found out what Izzy was, but didn't tell anyone (including DH) except my Mum. Needed to have someone to go shopping for pink stuff with!
Sez - like you and Dan, I do whatever works with Izzy. I have friends who follow rigid routines with their babies but I just can't with Iz. I've lost track of the number of times I put her down for a nap during the day and pick her up 10 minutes later telling her "Mummy got it wrong, you're not tired!" I just don't see the point in fighting with her - she knows when she's hungry, and I can't see what fighting her to sleep achieves. And you're right about this age - everything seems to be magical and exciting and its just so gorgeous watching my tiny little girl enjoying her world.
Jan - OMG. I'm amazed you didn't slap the doctor and his stupid cow of a receptionist. That behaviour is just disgusting, not to mention incredibly unprofessional. I hope Julian is feeling lots better now, and you never have to go back to that awful clinic.
Danni - sorry things aren't going well for you chicken. I hope Mason turns a corner for you soon, and if you end up on ADs then they help make life a little rosier for you.
Tan - I hope things with Izzy's sleep are improving a bit.
Ash - sorry to hear Blake's not a happy boy either. Its just as well we love these little monsters to bits isn't it - they really are hard on us at times.
Sarah - sorry to hear Noah hasn't been well, and that you're having troubles with Juz. I hope you can sort things out quickly so you can both enjoy your little boy together.
Kristen - I love that name. Its gorgeous. As for Mia not rolling yet, Izzy hasn't for at least a month since the time she did it twice. I was told by my community nurse that reflux babies hate tummy time, and that certainly applies to Iz. I can maybe get 30 seconds out of her on her tummy before she is screaming the place down.
Kelly - isn't this weather superb!! Izzy loved yesterday being able to get around with bare legs and arms. I'm glad Luke enjoyed the beach - we haven't tried it yet but can't wait. Are you taking Luke to swimming classes? If yes, where areyou going to go? I've tried the night settling too, and have found that if Izzy wakes up and doesn't self-settle, then she needs a feed. Such a shame, and I'd love to be able to give her a dream feed to guarantee she sleeps through, but she's a stubborn little girl - she feeds when SHE wants and there's no point trying to force her.
I just know I've missed someone but I've been going backwards and forwards to the old thread and this post is getting HUGE! So, really really sorry if I have missed you!
Nothing really going on here, except like Kelly we're enjoying the beautiful weather - so nice not to have Izzy wrapped up and covered with blankets - she loves being a little rudie nudie and kicks her legs like crazy. Her little tooth is so sharp and its still giving her lots of problems - tons of really dribbly raspberries and I have to change her top at least twice a day. Bit nervous about my nuchal fold scan on Wednesday - hopefully will all be ok cos I really don't know what I'd do if we got a bad outcome.

kristen: do you have a price list up and running yet? I can run it by the play group mums for you.
I wanted to get some pics in about a month of Mason but I wanted some posed shots as well. Let me know.
Last night wasnt too bad here. Mason slept through until 3:30. He hasnt done that long for months! but then i had to sleep with him in my arms on the couch until 5:30
i went to the gp today to see about getting some help with my anxiety and he wouldnt help me. He said i was just tired :(
-
**** dani your gp sounds like a #$*^$*^$(#@@(@).....but yay on 3:30 hun, i wish!
-
in a way though...he is right. I know deep down that once Mason sorts his sleeping out and I can get some decent sleep...I know I will feel better on a whole.
-
Danni - I would get a second opinion - go elsewhere til you are satisfied with the result hun.:hugs:
Well last night Izzy slept from 7 til 10 - I rocked her for 15 minutes til she went back to sleep....til 5 !! Whoo hoo - we are slowly getting there. Day sleeps are still wishy washy and she wont settle herself but Im coping better because Im not up 4 or 5 times a night. Just when you are ready to chuck in the towel these cheeky monkeys do a 360 and confuse you even more.
Gotta go - be back tomorrow! :hugs: all!
-
Danni - sure hon, I will email you a price list through now!! :D
Sez - absolutely everything is up and down!! Nothing 'normal' about babies is there?!
Dan - did you enjoy your Sunday? Mine was wonderful!! I went to Williamstown with a g/f and we had a picnic near the water with Mia - SO lovely to be outside! Glad the weather is treating us so nicely of late.
Hayley - I bet you miss him like crazy when he's away! Give him a big cuddle from us!
Lulu - Mia adores her nudie rudie time as well. She's so funny when we change her nappy - the nappy comes off, both legs go up in the air and the hands grab the feet!! So cute!! Can't wait until the weather is always nice so she can just get about in her MCNs and a top! Best of luck for Wed (not that you'll need it!)
Tan - yay for Izzy!!!! Go chicken!! Hope she improves again tonight for you!! :D
Well bring on the lovely weather I say! We had a great Sunday - picnic in Williamstown with a GF of mine by the water. Just gorgeous. She's a photographer (she took piccies of Mia when she was born) and took some more of her today. Drooling something crazy over her $10K camera, noiiiiiiice!! ;)
Hope everyone else had a magic weekend! :)
-
Quick question - what do you guys put under your rudie nudies?? Im sick to death of washing a bilion nappies a day... or the huggies change mats gettting thrown out?
-
I just put a big beach towel!
-
I just use one of my colour flannelette nappy spew rags.
-
Mmm still lots of washing though right? Thats what I do too - I think I wanna lay a bit plastic sheet under her  JK!
-
You can get those Tan!! Tummy time mats or something.... something like that anyway! I use the Huggies change mats only because Mia pees right through any towels we put under her!!
-
Ooh thanks Kristen! I use the Huggies mats but I give her heaps of no nappy itme and would spend a fortune if thats all I use! Might do a google search right now! Congrats on the photography business too! Im sure you will do super well and how great that you can run your own business and still have time for your girl!
-
Tell me about it... I'm making up for the fact that we use MCNs with those change mats... TERRIBLE!
Thanks hon on the well wishes!! I certainly hope so! I'm in desperate need of moula!!

Danni - I agree with the others. If you think you need some medication to help you get through this period, then go to someone else. Yep, you're tired (I think we're all more tired than we ever thought possible!), but if you're feeling down as well as tired then you need some help - whether that be counselling or medication. I was the same when I took the PND indicator test when Izzy's reflux was at its worst - I think the MCN would have liked to have committed me there and then, but I know it was the situation specifically, not just my general outlook. Doesn't matter though - depression is depression. Good luck.
Kristen - yep, same with Izzy. She can be screaming her head off but if you take her daks and nappy off, she's the happiest baby in the world and her toes go straight in her mouth. So cute! Good luck with the photography - I hope you make a squillion. I'm doing (or at least trying) a few hours a week too - definitely need a bit more money coming in at the moment. The bills seem to be endless.
Tan - it depends on where Izzy is for her rudie nudie time. If she's outside on the grass, then I use the cheap cot doona I picked up. I usually wash it anyway if she's been outside on it, so its no biggie. If she's inside, then she's on her playgym, so I use one of the plastic backed mattress protectors I had for her cradle. Still washing, but better than trying to get her play gym dry! Yay for your Izzy's big sleep. Good girl. Hopefully she'll get back to her old ways.
