I'm Sooooooo in shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there,

I almost feel numb, I went to the doctor yesterday (thursday)for a nasty cough and happened to mention that one of my many flu symptoms was fainting at the supermarket. My Dr did a preg test and it came back a :bfp:, I was on the pill.
My head feels like its going to explode, a year ago, heck even 8 months ago I guess I would have been over joyed but I just (as in one week ago) got a great job. And was accepting that my life was going to take a different direction.
I have a 10 year old and an 8 year old.
I have endometriosis that made my babies miracles so I never ever expected to fall pregnant like this.
My head is swimming, I told my husband yesterday and he's as shocked as I am, but once it had sunk in abit he said this morning it's just a detour off our planned route.
I had a blood test yesterday morning and my HCG was 294. I don't know what normal as it was all so long ago that i did this. I had what I now assume was an implantation bleed on sunday night (I thought it was just my normal spotting that I sometimes get from my endo during the month) so does this HCG level sound right for approx 4-5 days after implantation?
I'm sorry if this comes across as ungrateful or unhappy because I'm not..I'm just a little shell shocked at present, still processing and am still full of the flu which doesn't help.
I am having another blood test on monday to check my levels and make sure it's not eptopic.
We are going to tell our kids tommorow when Hubbys home from work so that will be weird.
So sorry for the long vent but I needed someone to talk to and Hubbys on a night shift and no one else knows.

Those levels sound really positive. Congratulations. Another miracle baby is wonderful. Take your time letting it sink in and take each day at a time.

We just told the kids and their smiles are so big they barely have any face left, so at least thats not an issue.
I was wondering, can it be an eptopic pregnancy if I had an implantation bleed? How does that work..any ideas?

Implantation bleeds don't correlate with ectopic pregnancy. If you have severe pain in either ovary then it may be ectopic but it is important not to worry yourself over it and just take it as it comes.

I can understand your shock, DF and I had only been together 3 months and I was on the pill when a rather bold and bright BFP came along. You will adjust and adapt and things will work out. Where there is a will there is a way and bub obviously has a will ;)

Hiya, I had my bloods done today and my levels are up to 1050 from 294 on thursday. They still want me to have my levels done again on next monday. Are my levels ok? are they just worrying that I might have got pregnant a month earlier therefore my levels would be low??
Assuming I conceived this month and would be approx 18 days pregnant are my levels ok??
This is doing my head in I am swinging from disbelief to belief, hope to dispair, certainty that if the baby made it past my age, the pill and the endometriosis its a fighter and will be fine, to panicing about miscarriage or eptopic. I honestly don't know what i think...I just want to cry all the time.
I'm so sorry yet again...I just have no one who wants to hear any of this... least of all my husband who is also trying to get his head around it.

Yes, those levels sound really good so don't worry!

The reason your doc is checking for ectopic is that when you get pregnant on the pill or minipill you have a higher chance of having an ectopic. That's because both pills are supposed to change the CM which of course can cause delays in movement which can theoretically result in an ectopic. Even so, most women who get pregnant on the pill don't have an ectopic, it's still really rare for that to happen, just more likely than if you weren't on it.

Often with ectopics the HCG doesn't rise - that's why some women with ectopics don't even test positive on a HPT. Yours is raising as it should be so I'm sure all will be fine.

Your shock and angst is perfectly normal and you need to give yourself some time to process this big news. I just know everything will work out for you.
