Faint line on FR - AF over a week late

Hi all,

I'm new, so please be kind :)

I've been on the pill for the last four months. I recently had an ear infection and took antibiotics and also missed a few pills during this month. I started the sugar tablets last Friday and AF hasn't shown up. On Saturday, I did a First Response test which came up with a very very faint pink line. I've done another one this morning and the line is there again. It is still extremely faint.

It is driving me crazy - whats going on?? Usually my period starts within two days of going on to the sugar pills.

If anyone could give me any advice it would be much appreciated

Sounds like you are pregnant!! You should see a Gp for blood test to confirm!! :-)

I called my doctor this morning and I can't get in until next week! Its so frustrating - I just want to see a nice clear pink line! I'm worried if I get too excited yet I'll jinx myself!

Yup, sounds like congratulations are in order! Go have a blood test for confirmation :D

If you want, you could put a link to a photo in here so we can judge for you, but a line's a line in the pregnancy testing world ;)

With both my kids (although not conceived on the Pill), they were both squinty lines.

If I have my dates wrong, is there a possibility though that I might have tested too early and it could be a chemical pregnancy or something? I've probably spent too much time on google trying to work out whats going on - I just find it so hard to believe!

We have a nearly 8 year old son, and I've desperately wanted to have another baby for years, but DH hasn't been too keen. If this sticks, it will be so wonderful!

Can I just say quickly too, thank you for your replies. I posted on another forum that I am a member of last week and have still had no replies. Its nice to know you are all out there to show support and encouragement :)

As Teni said, a line is a line, and the fact that you've had a line on two different tests is very positive! Congratulations!

I would say you are pregnant! A line is a line and of 2 different tests I would say it is unlikely to be a false positive.

Yep, a line is a line...buy a few more tests on the way home and watch it get darker and darker until you see your GP :lol:
Darkest lines are usually first wee of the day :D

Yes I'm completely addicted to POAS!! I was planning on getting some more on the way home. Hopefully it will be a bit clearer and I'll post a pic to get your opinions!

Ok, so I got some more tests on the way home, and just to play with me, the control line took a while to come up on this one which has never happened before. I might do another one later to be sure, but here is the photographic evidence :)

I just did one of those digital tests and it says 'Not Pregnant' :)

Ignore it! It may be too early for a digital test. First Responds are a lot more sensitive and pick up pregnancy hormones sooner. Leave the digital tests until next week!

I've got a doctors appointment on Thursday morning, so hopefully the blood test results don't take too long to come back!

Because you were taking the pill you probably ovulated later than 'normal'. So you hormone levels are probably very low still if you are pregnant so the digital wont confirm it for another day or so.

Urine test at doctors was negative. Will get blood results this afternoon.

Hi Zenbar, I have been reading along with your journey. The dr's ones are not as sensitive as the FRER, have you done another one of them at home yet? They should be starting to get a bit darker by now, it has been a few days since the last test.

Goodluck with your test results today. Does your partner know what's going on, it sounds like he will be quite surprised!

Yep, drs ones are crap. I got a fairly dark pos on a first response at 12 DPO, went to Dr on 15DPO got 2 negatives, did another fr 16dpo and got another positive.

DH was furious to begin with, then was happy and now is hoping the blood test comes back positive! What a rollercoaster!
