andie: good to hear things are going well for you :)
alison: you poor thing, why don't our bodies cooperate when we need them too, the waiting is so frustrating :( i was on clexane just as precaution really, because i was doing pgd they decided to throw everyone at me, i had my scan wednesday and everything looked good so i have stopped it now and all seems to be ok
how are all you other girls ?
-
Hi N2L - I don't know why but I suspect it's like Andie said due to the PGD, there is some flexibility I think they give you a week's grace but they are just so booked up that they have to fit people into rough slots. Unfortunately I can't go on the pill because of my blood clotting gene thing - I'm on Provera now to hold it off to fit in better and it's killing me, my guts has not liked the double dose this time around. Blah!
Hi Andie - glad everything's going well for you too.
Hi Minnie - sounds like everything's going like clockwork, must be a relief to be able to stop the clexane, horrid horrid stuff that!!
-
Same for me...already have my collection booked in & haven't even started my cycle yet. On the pill to get the timing right to fit in with the lab & when they can do the testing. Fingers cross I stimulate well so it doesn't all get stuffed up.
TWW is a killer but the endless waiting is right up there with it I reckon! Only 10 more days til I finish the pill & then it is all systems go!
-
Hi Everyone - how are you all? I've just spent the last 2 hours crying my eyes out. Day 3 today, went in for bloods all ready to start injections after a 3 month wait only to be told my estrogens surged so high I'm about to ovulate. They don't know why but I do, I think it's the Provera, I was on it for 7 days twice a day and they did it to hold my period off to fit in with the CGH testing, after 7 days off it AF still hadn't arrived, did bloods Friday to tell me I should be bleeding already as my levels were already baseline.....they came Saturday, very light however. So cycle cancelled and the pain is that now I have to wait to do a collection again (I still have to trigger tonight apparently) but the CGH is booked up until June/July now. This is such a crap system they have going, I am about ready to give up I just don't know how much more of this set back after set back crap I can take! Anyone else experienced this???? xx

Good grief Alison, what a terrible run you are having, I don't understand though, aren't you on synarel or lucrin, how can you be surging already if you are on that ?
It's been such a long wait for you already, how frustrating !!
Joe: are you on injections now ?
How are all you pregnant girls going ?

Sorry things are not working out at the moment Alison, such a terrible run you're having. Biggest hugs x
-
Minnie - no nothing, I was due to start Menopur today but no point now!!!! I was put on Provera to lengthen my cycle so they could "fit it in" with the CGH testing, at the time I went on it I was about 5 days in their opinion going off bloods/scan from having AF. I was on 2 tablets a day for a week and then it took another 7 days for AF to come which they said was a long time for someone who has low progesterone. If I hadn't gone on that Provera to delay AF, I'd be ovulating around now anyway but I'd be around CD14 so I honestly think the Provera stuffed up my hormones and confused them. They say no it's to do with my low egg count but I don't believe them. The other annoying thing is that my FSH was fantastic, 10 - last collection cycle it was at 19 so for once something was looking promising and now this. I am beyond frustrated at the fact that I have to fit in with them, not them fit in with me - I'm chasing my tail here, there's gotta be a better way. And for the record, I will not be taking Provera again they can stick that idea where the sun doesn't shine. Anyway I have to go trigger now to make sure this egg releases, what a waste.
-
alison - this hasnt happened to me but i can fully understand how frustrating it must be for you. like we dont wait around enough while ttc...
-
So it is all systems go here. Currently at CD5 on 250IU of gonal F daily. First scan booked for Monday. Haven't done an antagonist cycle before. Is it normal to be feeling sore in the belly already? Have been having a few dizzy spells as well, just trying to keep my fluids up. Trying to keep my excitement under wraps.
Hugs to you Alison xx you are going through a lot at the moment. Know we are all here for you
-
ooh good luck Joe Spratt, jealous but excited for you! hee hee I did Puregon but I found it non painful, next time I'm doing Menopur to see if I get a better response.
Maybe thinking it's a good thing this happened this week, my FIL has been battling bowel cancer for the last year and has just been given weeks if that to live so it's not a very happy time here at the moment, maybe the universe decided it's not good timing and will wait until after he passes.

Good luck Joe, I did antagonist & I experienced some pain but no dizziness. Drinking lots of water should help.
-
joe - i was on 250 gonal, responded quite quickly too & was tender. dont be surprised if it subsides by the time you get to collection, apparently your body adjusts (i freaked out a bit bc by egg collection i couldnt feel anything happening). hope your scan went well today. :)
alison - so sorry to hear about your FIL.
-
Had my first scan today. I think they said there were about 7 or so follicles all around 10mmin size give or take. Things could be brought forward if it continues like this. Would prefer to keep epu as planned for next Monday as it has taken a fair bit of planning to organise care for DD as we have to travel down to Sydney for collection. Had my first shot of cetrotide today...now that one hurts! Hopefully that will subside as the week goes on.
Hi to everyone!
Alison so sorry about your FIL xxx
-
alison:  sorry to hear about your FIL. Doesn't your clinic start you on something to stop you ovulating before they start the follicle stimulating drugs ?
joe: that sounds good, its annoying though when they start to change plans and you have organised care for your DD, i didn't realise we live close to each other, i also had to travel down to sydney for my epu and the pgd to be done. We ended up taking the kids with us the last time i had epu, DH went in & did his bit and then he took them off for lunch while i had epu, we only figured out it was doable because the time before our DS was vomiting with a gastro bug and we had no choice but to take him with us

Tomorrow it's all systems go! Last scan on Friday showed about 11 or so follies all measuring over 20mm in size which would explain the bloating & sore belly. Prog had started to creep up but repeat bt on Sat morning showed it had gone down again with estrogen sitting over 3000 which they were happy with. FX I end up with a decent number as the PGD is for a 50/50 chance genetic disorder....but I only need one! All things going to plan transfer next Saturday
Hi to all the lovely ladies!
-
that's great news JoeSpratt sending you lots of good luck your way! Look forward to hearing the good news.
AFM - Af arrived today, CD1 on Mother's Day....ironic given had my cycle not been cancelled i'd be going in for transfer tomorrow probably, ho hum. I'm going on the pill this month and then hopefully give it another go!!! Looks like I won't make getting my cycle in before I'm 40 though sigh.
-
good luck Joe, hope you get lots of eggs !
alison: sorry to hear af arrived today, good luck with the new cycle though

IVF with PGD # 10
best of luck, joe. fingers crossed for a good haul. : )
hugs, alison. hang in there. xx
-
EPU went well. Managed to get 9 eggs and 7 were mature enough for ICSI. Will know fert rates tomorrow so FX for a high %. PGD biopsy booked for Thurs & hopefully there will be one right for transfer on Saturday
-
solid start, joe! hope you're feeling ok & resting up. ill continue to cross my fingers for you. xx
-
Yay JoeSpratt that's awesome, any news today?
Well I had some good news today finally! AF arrived on Mother's Day (ironically), went in for bloods yesterday, expecting them to call and put me on the pill for a month while I await a spot at the lab for testing, only to be told they've squeezed me in and my levels are all good this month after last month's funky weird cycle so I start injections today eeek! I was so unprepared so it was a nice surprise, my FSH is down to 7 - I know they go off your highest so it's not really an indication but given it was 19 last collection I'm happy with that. Here's hoping I get a good response to the Menopur, I'd be stoked to get more than 3 as that would mean I wouldn't have to do another collection but we'll just have to wait and see. How long after collection do they normally do transfer, ie on what day????

great news, alison! they biopsied my embryo's on day 3 or 4 (cant quite remember now...), then let them grow to blast stage. so transfer was 5 days after egg collection, making it 5dpo. if that makes sense?! mine werent being testing for any specific genetic abnormality, just the standard chromosome testing. ill be crossing my fingers for you too. xx
-
That's wonderful news Alison! Sounds like it was meant to be. Wishing you every success xx
For the PGD, they are doing biopsy on day 3 with results known day 4 & transfer on day 5. Ours is a known genetic defect. We managed to get 5 fertilised so really hoping they all make it to day 3 for testing. With a 50/50 chance of being affected our numbers aren't that great but similar to last time. Cautiously optimistic but trying not to get my hopes up too much. At least I know I can get pregnant, just need the right embie!
-
Hi Andie - I'm just having the standard chromosome testing also so fx I get a couple of decent ones!
Hi JoeSpratt - any news on how your embies are doing? xx
-

AFM - so after 2 weeks of a cough now I have a seriously killer sore throat and feel all yukky, I have a week to kick it in the butt or is it possible they'll not take me to collection???? I feel awful, seriously hows my timing boo hoo
-
We got 4 of the 5 embies to testing today. The fifth one had degraded cells which wouldn't have been much use anyway. Now just waiting for the results & hoping that we get at least 1 normal embie for a day 5 transfer on Saturday. Trying to keep the stress/anxiety levels to a minimum but kinda hard at the same time
-
great result getting 4 to testing, joe. i hope you got some good news today & can go ahead with a transfer tomorrow. :crossfingers:
alison - hope you're feeling a bit better. xx
-
Well what a topsy turvy day! Good news was that we got our results back....we got 2 of the 4 as normal which was great. The bad news is that only one of them looked viable today (now on board!). The other isn't looking so good & they don't think that it will survive a freeze/thaw. They are going to grow it for another day to see how it goes before making a decision.
Put on the spot by the FS "why don't you just put both back & see what happens". He isn't my normal FS & has no idea of my history. I have had no problem getting pregnant just don't want a baby to inherit a terminal genetic disorder. Not once has my normal FS ever contemplated putting more than one embie back. Did not appreciate being put on the spot literally with my legs in the air!
So if the second one doesn't make it, the one on board is my last hope as after paying the bill, no way in hell I am going to get DP to do another entire cycle.
So literally all eggs in the one basket...let's hope they don't fall out!
-
good news, joe! im not sure i would put 2 back in either, bit risky unless you are comfortable with twins. i really hope you get lucky this cycle. xx (and im sure you still probably remember, minnie had just one viable from her recent cycle... ;)).
-
Hey Joespratt fx for you, you only need one after all!!
Afm - battling a head cold and cough gah I need it gone asap the is terrible timing. Bloods yesterday showed I am responding perfectly to the menopur so they are really happy. Day 6 today and ovaries are really hurting is this normal? I'm stressing g the coughing will burst them is that possible? Lol
-
How's it all going Alison? Funnily enough I got a real bad sore throat at the start of this cycle too but miraculously disappeared before epu.
-
Hi everyone! It's been a while!
JoeSpratt - That's great news!! Everything crossed that this little one on board is 'the one' for you. How are you feeling? When do you test? Best of luck!
Alison - I can't remember where the pains were specifically, but I know I was incredibly uncomfortable for much of my cycles. How are you feeling now? Any news from scans/BTs? So glad your body (minus the cough/sore throat shenanigans) is cooperating. Best of luck to you!
Hi to minniemouse, Andie, and to all of you other lovely ladies!
AFM - I'm doing well, 18 weeks this Friday, I can't even believe it still! Lots of wriggling around going on in there but I am still so nervous (anyone else like that in pg?). Big scan is next Saturday, eeeeek!
-
Wow Elle that has certainly gone fast! Feeling the movements are one of my best memories when I was pregnant the first time around. Good luck with your scan next week.
Just trying to get past the weekend with my bt on Tues. hard to tell what is going on as on crinone and had my last jab of hcg this morning so there is no way I will be able to poas before then

Hi Girls - well, what a couple of days I have had my goodness! So, Monday I went back to the GP with my coughing and sinuses, as suspected sinus infection, antibiotics (safe ones) and off I go. Tuesday morning I wake up after a night of coughing and I have a rotten headache, very nauseous, dizzy, weak, feeling really weird - panicked about a reaction to the antibiotics so DH took me to the local hospital at 10am, I was in such a bad way I seriously thought I was dying at one point. Thankfully I was so bad they fastracked me and took me straight in. The doctor was scrumptious, please remind me not to wear my orange knickers and do my face and hair next time, at the time I did not care however lol. But they tested me, poked me did all sorts gave me loads of painkillers (all the while knowing I was supposed to be going in for collection today, yes today!) - I triggered Monday night. So long story short had to have a CT scan and a lumber puncture (not fun) to rule out meningitis, all clear so they put it down to a sinus migraine. So, 11.30 pm I got let out, after NO food yes NO food ALL day argh! Came home at midnight, got 5 hours sleep and had to get up and be at my clinic's hospital for 6.30 am, I was first on list and went in at 7.45 am yay! I cannot believe I made it, seriously ,nothing and I mean nothing was standing in my way today. So, I had 5 follies, 2 better than last time - was hoping for 1 or 2 more on the Menopur but never mind they were happy with that, triggered Monday night, got the 5 today but unfortunately only 4 were mature, shouldn't say only as it could've been worse I know. So tomorrow I find out fertilization rates (ICSI again so fingers crossed), they will thaw my other 3 embies and testing will be sent off and done Saturday and hopefully praying praying that I have something decent to transfer next Tuesday! EEEK. I am sooooooo nervous about it all, losing them in the thaw, not dividing, not being cleared in testing, not making it to day 6 yada yada so here is the real stuff eh. I am in a bit of pain tonight, moreso than last time, ouchy ovaries and a sore back from the lumber so I will just have to try and convince DH it's real and I have to take it easy, not so simple with a 3.5 year old but I have to. So girls, starting the Crinone tomorrow night, how does it differ from the usual pessaries I was taking in the luteal phase of a natural cycle?
What shall I expect, how do you get through these next days sane, or don't you? Eeeek all these questions! Anyone know the average loss rate with testing? I'm expecting a good half from what I read boo hoo. I'd love to prove them wrong.
How is everyone else going??
xx
-
Oh my Alison, you have been through the ringer! Know it wasn't fun at the time but thankfully it was only a sinus migraine. How many have you got frozen? They really do wonderful things in the lab now so fingers crossed they all thaw nicely. Wishing you magical numbers. I have felt like poo since my epu last Monday. Felt like I had been ripped apart with my ovaries all twisted up. Obviously not but quite painful. Needed Panadol for the first couple of days. Feeling really full in the belly now with a dull backache. Taking Crinone twice daily with hcg 1500 U on days 3, 6 & 9. Actually tolerating it a lot better than the prog pessaries I took with my last FET. Good luck with the testing & hope the next week isn't too hard on you xxx
-
Thanks JoeSpratt - feeling a tad better in the physical sense this morning, but deflated in the mental sense. The lab rang, out of the 4 mature eggs they got yesterday only 2 are showing signs of normal fertilization (with ICSI) - one didn't fertilize at all and the other is showing signs of abnormal fertilization. Sigh. Last collection we only got 3 eggs but all 3 fertilized so I was expecting at least 3 of the 4 so very bummed. We have 3 on ice so what this means is providing these other 2 start dividing today it means we will only have 5 to send to testing - they said best going with a minimum of 6 to make it worthwhile so we have to make a decision. Just spoke to DH, he said for the sake of waiting another 3 months to do another cycle/testing (as it seems to take that long) for the possibility of getting extra to make up the 1 for the miminimum is it really worth it. Ie, we could end up with no fertilized eggs next time you just never know. So the question is, do we take the chance with the 5 or go another round in the hope we get more. I am so bummed I really thought this was it. Maybe I'm just not going to get my wish of another bub after all.....they said to me once 70% of all eggs tested will be non viable so 70% of 5 gives me 2 left - I'd be happy with 2 normal eggs, hell I'd probably be ok with 1 but 2 means i'd have a back up if the first didn't take, but of course the more the merrier. I'm so at a loss as to what the right thing to do is, ho hum. xxx
So what side effects shall I expect from the crinone???
