I am so worried about my 12 week scan in april. Im scared that the doc is going to look at me and say "um, sorry, theres nothing there". Is he going to tell me its all in my head??? my bt results for 5 weeks was 1200 so that tells me i am pregnant but im just really nervous
Does anyone else experience this?? or am i just a loony????

You're not going looney and it is completly natural to fret! My friend is currently pregnant and stresses every day it seems (and her bubs is fine!).
You're not bleeding or anything are you? If it would ease your mind you could call your Ob... otherwise try to wait and good luck with the scan! It will be lovely to see the heartbeat which should reassure you. :p
hey thanx for ur reply..nah im not bleeding, no cramps no nothing. its just now that its getting closer i am very very nervous. ahhhhhhhhh lol
You're definitely not looney!! I think it's only natural to worry, I've been thinking the same things and I had a dating scan done at 8 weeks and saw the heart beat, and yet still in the back of my mind I think "what if...."
It's not too long till your scan!! Good luck! I think I need more patience!
I stressed too....the whole first trimester I was so worried something was going to happen. I bled a little just after we found out too so that was pretty scary. Just think though, you get to meet your little one for the first time at your 12 week scan. It is one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. Think about it like that and it might make it a little easier. My little girl is 10 weeks tomorrow now so all my worry was about nothing (I pretty much stressed a little all pregnancy) and she's perfect. Hope you are ok xx

If you feel like it would make you feel better, ask your doc for an early scan now - might make the next 5 weeks a bit easier.
having said that though, I have had one at 7.5 and 10.5 weeks this time due to my history, and even though last one was just last Friday, and I feel sick, it still doesn't feel real- except I have developed a pot belly, but that is to be expected as it is my 5th preg.

Dont worry, I think every woman goes through that. I know i did, it took up until about week 25 for me to finally be okay and not worry so much.

Im 12wks pg today after having 3 recurrent m/c's and this is baby #6 and I have been stressing since I found out I was pg. I had my doctor do out a path report so I could get betas done all the time, he had me getting them once a week and they were great, but still didnt stop me stressing. Then I asked him if I could get an early scan (I was 7wks2days when I had it) and I saw a heartbeat and everything that was supposed to be there, but did that stop me stressing?? No! I had a follow up docs appt after the scan at 9wks and heard the heartbeat on his doppler and that made me feel a little more relaxed, but still not really ok kwim lol. So next thing I did was buy a doppler (only bought a cheapie, one of the angelsounds ones) and have used it twice a day since I received it. Now that tends to put my mind at ease some more. I have my 12wk scan tomorrow and Im really excited, but at the same time, really stressed and worried (Im 41yo). But this time round, Im thinking positive and so far all is good, so Im sure Ill be ok tomorrow.
So please dont think you're looney cause you definitely aint ok lol. Its just natural to stress out when you find out you're pregnant.
All the best and as someone said, if you are at all concerned, ask the doc for an early scan or even get some more betas done or something, anything that will put your mind at ease.

Aww you poor thing. :hugs: I am the same and you are definately not a loony. I think it is only natural for us mums to worry about everything from the moment our gorgeous babies are conceived and especially when you have had a loss before. I had a scan at 7w5d and heard that beautiful heartbeat, and have my 12 weeks scan this Wednesday and have exactly the same fears you do.
I agree with lj, if you are finding that you are extremely anxious all the time, go to see you GP and explain your fears ( they get it all the time) and see if they will do some more BT or a scan to ease your mind.

I felt a little different, but it was kinda the same I guess. I'd already had an early scan so I knew there was something there but I was worried there'd be no heartbeat present. There was one of course, but it came as quite a shock to me. I'd had really mild symptoms so it was hard to believe all was well. You'll be fine.
12 week scan due on the 16th April...ahhh its getting closer!!!!!

I've been going through a similar thing but more so panicking about every little pain, with my first i never worried but with #2 i had some bleeding early on and now i get worried with the slightest pain but doc says As long as your still sick and feeling pregnant everything is most likely fine. I'm def still feeling sick.....

They sure are, i'm so excited already. I'm buying boy stuff but secretly keeping the receipts even though im praying i wont need them. This preg is so dif to my last so i am hoping it's cause its a boy :)

Congrats on your pregnancy..!!! When did u have your first scan? and where u really nervous that something might have gone wrong???
you're looney .... nah just kidding ..... you're human hon, no woman could say she wasn't even a slight bit nervous about the 12 week scan ;)
What you are going through is perfectly normal and you have the same fear that thousands of woman experience.
Try not to be anxious about it and look at it with a positive spin and say 'at the 12 week scan I get to see my baby' and look forward to every scan like this even the NT scan if you choose to have it. That was advice that was given to me by another member in here and it has been the best in relieving my anxieties when it comes to scans :D

I have only had early scan with this preg. I was quite nervous as I had had some bleeding which I had not had with other pg and I was measuring app. 5cm bigger @ 10 weeks than I should have. They were checking for twins but I was thinking growth on uterus or something worse. With other scans (20wk) I was a little nervous because it was the moment of truth. What would this baby look like, would it be complete and perfect after 20 wks of growth. I think it is very normal to have some fears/nervousness. All the best and I am sur everthing will be ok.
oops forgot to add.....things all worked out for all pg. This time round my dates were out and the bleed was nothing. Baby is just right at 20wk scan too

I hope you dont mind me joining you. I have been reading all yoour posts and hope you can give me some kind of hope. I am 6 weeks pregnant today. I have had spotting and had more than usual on Sunday night. I went and had my bloods done and all my levels came back really good. They want me to have a scan tomorrow, an internal one...the spotting has decreased but still a little there. I am absolutely petrified. What are the chances of getting there tomorrow and they tell me there is no baby. I cant stop crying which I know isnt good for me and my DH is sick of me self diagnosing myself on the internet......I know you may not see the heartbeat tomorrow being and early scan but Im so worried they are going to give us bad news. We ahve been doing IVF for over a year now and I keep having dreams that someone is about to take this all away from us. I am super sensitive at the moment and cant relax....Im going insane.
First of all congrats on your pregnancy. I was 5 1/2 weeks and i had bleeding, more than just spotting and they did both the internal which is uncomfortable but gives them a better picture and a normal belly one too. They didnt detect a heart beat because it was so early and i too cried all day up until my scan but turns out the bleed was outside the sac and most likely from it attaching to my uterus. I went back a week and a half later and seen my lil babies heart beat. I'm sure everytihing will be fine and just think positive.

awww hun...first of all (((hugs))). I havent had and bleeding/spotting with this preg so im sorry i dont know how u feel. But i too am nervous about the docs telling me there is nothing there or no heartbeat can be detected. there isnt much we can do to ease the stress, but i found coming in here and "venting" has helped alot!!
anyway...only 7 more sleeps for me..i cant wait to see my little bundle :)

Well ahd scan done...OMG thankgod.......our little peanut is Ok...4.3mm.......and we saw the heartbeat!!! Im am so relieved althouogh I know we have a long way to go...it just means I will be able to get some sleep and not worry myself stupid. Thanks Ladies....Thankyou so much.
Get my blood results later this afternoon.....hope they are ok too...Im not going to panic....

Yes blood test came back fine. Thats it for me for the IVF Clinic..I no longer have to go there...Im on my own..gonna be weird not having to go there every week....the ladies are just great there.....
Feel great tonight....so relieved..its unbelievable.
The count down is definetly on Hollye.....yeah!

I think it's normal for everyone...we know that the 12 week scan can tell us if something is 'wrong' so we worry and worry. Personally I worried from day 1 to birth lol and this pregnancy is no different. Must be the mummy protectiveness :)
uh oh...im really stressing again. OMG!! why do we do this to ourselves??? i dont even really feel pregnant anymore..mayb im just having a bad day. I just really hate not knowing if everything is ok :( *screams*
Holly..OMG I m having one of those days too.....thinks its normal. I seem to read into things way too much..maybe your doing that at the moment...you dont have long to go before your scan so maybe its just nerves....you need to take it easy and think how exciting things are going to be at the scan when you see your beautiful baby....hang in there sweetp! I know exactly how your feeling right now except I have 5 or so weeks till I hit the 12 week mark... I have another scan at week 8 and wish my doctor would keep testing my blood for my levels so i can sleep at night!
Can anyone tell me if you have experienced this.....Im on progesterone pessaries and Im wondering whether its one of its side effects or not or maybe jus tmy body going through the change....My pelvis IS KILLING ME.....it was my left one last week and since I found out I was pregnant but as of yesterday it is now my right pelvis. Today I couldnt manage to walk without a limp and if I did it elt as though I was going to collapse..gets better as I keep moving but man does it hurt............whats going on????:confused:

Meegm, i think its a good idea to move ur appointment to this week, i wouldnt want u to wait till the 21, to me that still seems ages away. Even tho its not really a big diff from friday to monday. not long now til your 12 week scan Hollye, must be excited.
Went to the doc today and the first doc forgot to test for iron, hep b and rubella so gotta have another round of bloods again. I so hate those needles :(
Up-side is the doc has ordered another ultrasound for 13weeks just to check on bubs (cause of the bleeding early on) I LOVE MY DOC, maybe you should go see her Hollye. lol
So only 2 weeks til i get to see my little man again.
Don't stress all you ppls out there, i'm sure your babies are A OK
