DH was given a sausage, it's European and I think starts with "ch". DH says that I just boil it in water, is this right? TIA.

Chevap? (though these are usually skinless). Chorizo? And there is another fat sausage, but I can't remember what it is. Sorry, my memory still isn't fab. Ah, thanks Mr Google, Kransky.
I'm pretty sure its fine to boil (well, simmer) any sausage. I simmer mine to make sausage curries and casseroles, and when I'm making peasant food (with chorizos or kransky).
Not Chevap, I know those ones, this looks like a giant frankfurt lol .

All I know is there's big ones called bratwurst
I would think Kransky as they look like frankfurts.
We pan fry kranskys.
Oh man it's definately not a Kransky then, this would not fit in any fry pan I own. It's at least 10cm in diameter and about 40cm long and curves a bit. Might go and google it. I'll be back.

Kielbasa?
Geez it sounds massive Dianne
Just googled to no avail, gave me a laugh though some of the big fat sausages I searched were not of the edible kind kwim lol.
Rouge just googled Kielbasa and they are tiny in comparison to this. DH has it simmering now in my largest pot and it just fit due to it's curve.

I have no idea but with my dirty gutter mind.. this is not a good thread for me to be reading and still be able to act like a mature 34 year old..
BAHAHAHHAHA!!!!
*runs away*
cottechino? perhaps?
best way to cook nig sausages is to poach them first- boil in water- and you can eat it like that, or cool and dry it off then just brown it in a pan then heat through in the oven if you want some colour.
x madame x
Not Cottechino either, it's quite salty and has the same texture as a frankfurt, slightly spicy too.
Arimeh's Eden don't google big fat sausage
