DS, who has just turned 1 has just started to roll over onto his tummy in his cot and go to sleep. I am inclined to let him tummy sleep, but DH is insisting on turning him back over (and waking him up most times in the process).
So . . . . When did you let your LO tummy sleep?
Now :) DD has good head and neck control, and some nights it's the only way she'll go down for a sleep. Probably one might out of a week she'll sleep on her tummy, and some naps. It helps get her wind up too. I reckon one year old should be fine :)
6 weeks. She was such a bad sleeper then one day i put her down on her belly to answer the phone came back she was sound asleep and slept for 6 hours straight like that so i just let her do it. She now only sleeps on her back so i just go with what she wants to do.
3 of mine slept on their tummies from about 2 weeks of age.
Dd3 hates it and won't go to sleep like that.
I agree that 1 is definately fine PZ. :) DH is driving me nuts Lol.:
when bub can roll over by themselves, i reckon they are ok to sleep however they want. My LO slept on her back as a little bub but from about 9 months, slept on her tummy with her bum up in the air.
He's asleep on his tummy right now :) DH is at work obviously so I'm just gonna let him go and see how well he sleeps.
Hehe for some reason I imagine your DH creeping in with a stern look on his face and turning your DS over :rofl:
As soon as they could roll themselves onto their tummy by themselves. I always put them down on their backs, but if they rolled onto their tummies, I left them sleep like that. My kids were all wrapped until 8 - 9 months so they slept on their backs pretty much until then. SIDS guidelines say to try and prevent them sleeping/rolling onto their tummies until after six months (wrapping and sleeping bags can help prevent them rolling earlier). So 12 months should be fine :)

Yep when bub could roll over himself etc i let him sleep where he fell so to speak.
He is still mostly a tummy sleep now at 3.5y (like his mumma, :lol:)

I guess we've been pretty lucky that even though DS has been mobile for ages, he's never really rolled in his cot til now. He's obviously just realised that he likes to sleep on his tummy. Gawd, imagine my DH if DS was doing this ages ago lol.
Marta has been sleeping on her tummy from the moment she could roll over.
When DS went into his cot at 6months I also stopped wrapping him. He instantly flipped over onto his tummy which did freak me out and I kept turning him onto his back for a couple of nights. But then I figured that he can roll and felt okay about it. Even now at 2 he is a tummy sleeper. So am I!

Both were in grobags by this time, not wrapped. I always put them down on their back though, if they rolled, they could roll back.
Ds1 was a tummy sleeper. Now they both sleep on their side.
Now, at 6 months. DD2 has decided she wants to sleep on her tummy. I think I stopped worrying the same time with DD1. She was a terrible sleeper though so I really didn't care how she slept as long as she did, LOL.
For the life of me I cannot find anything that mentions the "until after 6 months" bit. Would love it if you could post me the link to where you found it Justme.:
when she wanted to and was strong enough to get out of the sleeper thingy that stopped her from doing so. i think she was about 9-10 months when she started doing this, i worried for a week or 2, but she was fine, and was able to roll and had good head control so i just let it be. i had a sensor pad monitor too so that helped ease my mind a bit
If they can push themselves up and roll, then it should be fine (I guess). I've never bothered moving them back once they put themselves there.
