Hello! I'm just curious- most people tell me that a woman's first child often goes overdue. However at a few recent parties I've discovered a host of mothers who said their first borns came early. I'm not sure how to set up polls but am interested to know if anyone had their first born early. :)
Incidentally I'm 29 weeks along with my first and while I've got a long while to go part of me suspects my little one will be a few days early at least... Not sure why.
My DD was born at 38+1. I had this niggling feeling that i would have her early. I had a dream at 24 weeks that i would go early, then i had reoccuring dreams that i would have troubles having her. Sure enough my waters broke at 38 weeks and i was in labour for 24 hours and she was posterior so took 1hr 45mins of pushing.
DD1 was 37+6 and I always had a feeling she would be 2 weeks early - not sure why.
Statistically first time mums do go a day or two longer than others. The average for everyone is actually a little over 40weeks anyway! But of course thats just an average and the bell curve has a big wide spread! I spent so much time trying to figure out when bub would arrive but it really is a useless endeavor. They will come when they're ready (or forced out!) and not a minute sooner! Get used to the fact that you cannot control what your baby wants haha. Spend the time resting, being kind to yourself and cherishing those wriggles :)
(btw I was so sure I'd be early and was 8 days late! I wish I had not had any expectations cos I became so impatient in that last week!)

Heya, I had dd1 early also at 39+2 but my prelabour was pretty full on from 39 weeks. I also hada feeling that I would go early as well and thnk goodness cos I was so massive!!!
I had DD1 a week early but DD2 was a week late
Technically not early, but I went into labour on my due date :) I always had a strong feeling I wouldn't go over.
Spontaneous labour at exactly 38 weeks with my first, was not expecting it at all as like you had been told over and over again that first timers are usually later. Kind of hoping that doesn't repeat as 38 weeks exactly with this one is Christmas Day ;)
My Mum was also early with her first (me) at 39 weeks. My Dad had taken time off so they could have a romantic prebabymoon together before first bub and I decided to crash the party with my surprise early entrance! My brother decided to come on his due date.
Most of the females in my family have actually gone early with their first so maybe I should have expected it a little more!
DD was born at 38 weeks.. i had a feeling id have her earlier rather than later!!
and its funny because on the day i had her i had a MW app at 2pm, they hooked me up to check Bhs and all that and she told me that i still had at least 2 weeks to go.. i went into labour at 4.30pm LOL
Dd1 was 34 weeks, dd2 went into labour at 35 but was on medication and got to 37, ds went into labour at 34+3 but on bed rest got to 39+4. With my second two I knew I was on labour and could take steps to prevent it but with dd1 I was clueless in hindsight I should have gone to hospital 24 hours before my waters broke but I didn't know I was having contractions, I was going to attend my first antenatal class the day after she was born.
My 1st was a week early!

I'm not worried or anxious in the least, it's just a fast approaching date so I cannot help but wonder what my little one's course of action will be. I also have no reason why she might be early or even on time. She's no bigger or any more active than average for her age so who knows! BTW my mum has six children and half were early ;)
My baby was not a big baby, she was 2.9kg (at 38 weeks) so it isn't always those who measure ahead or anything :)
My first was extremely early. My second was 1 day off her due date, I think I will go early this time too.
Two weeks early for my first DD. I had a strong feeling I would either be 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late. Well, to be honest that was what I was hoping for as the poor girl was due Christmas Eve!
(Interestingly, DD2 was 2 weeks early also.... if I have another I will be expecting 2 weeks late just because I am sure Murphy's law will dictate it to be that way!)
My first was born at 30+1 weeks, my waters broke at 28 weeks. I knew I was going to go early, I just didn't think it would be that early.
My second was also early at 34+3 weeks.
DS1 waters broke and labour started spontaneously at 37 weeks. Same for DS2 but then at 38 weeks. My mum and sister all went early for all their labours, so I was kind of expecting it. Both boys weighed about 6 pound 9, so not big.
DD1 was born at 38wks
DD2 was born at 41+1wks
