Good luck with the bamboo fleece co-op Tanya :D It's great stuff!
I've used VeryBasic AIO and recently Honeyboy. Are you after an AIO or a fitted pattern?
Had a delivery just now of some red PUL and some 4mm hook and loop. I looooove getting sewing supplies as much as full made fluffy mail

Ok, what do you girls think is the best material to make AIO with? i know the bamboo is really think, is it best to just use it for boosters in the AIO?
What about the outer material, what do you all recomend?

I have not made a AIO but if I did I would have it with a fleece outter, then a hidden PUL layer. Then either bamboo or hemp fleece. then that again in the wet zone (maybe 2 layers) topped with a microfleece, then a snap in booster of 2 layers of B or H fleece with microfibre in the middle of the 2 layers & toped with microfleece. I would probably do a little lay in booster as well so I could have it either a full on nappy or just a light one.
Wildchild night nappy & sandmads both have that layer of microfibre between the 2 layers of B or H fleece. I only have sandmands & at first I didn't really like them but now I do, they have proven themselves to me & I use them over teh BBB's. I would love to try a wildchild one as it would be basically a bamboo version of the sandman ( but I think the over all design of the WC one is nicer then the SM) so I think it would make a great night nappy. So I would basically like a trimer version AIO of those 2 nappies.
If you use somethink like a MM fleece as teh outter you might not need the PUL but not sure. Or just a poly PUL would be ok on its own I think. But I don't think I would use a cotton PUL as they can wick.
-
Tanya PUL as the outer layer works well as well as fleece such as malden mills. I've got both cotton and poly PUL and have had no wicking problems.
If you make a soaker pad of bamboo and attach it to a flanelette hidden inner it works a treat. Also a nice booster of 2 or 3 layers (more than 3 would take too long to dry I think) of bamboo.
I've made one with a hidden layer of bamboo and while it is nice and absorbant it's a bit too bulky and tricky to close up the seam once you turn it the right way out because it's sooooo thick.
What pattern are you looking at using?
-
Pattern... I have no idea... lol... That's MIL job ;) I have to lead her in the right direction tho.

Tanya - hows the nappy making going matie??? has it messed with your head yet? pmsl

*BREAKING NEWS*
Just got confirmation that the fleece Maz and I bought from ebay as "Malden Mills" isn't!
I sent a sample over to the USA for confirmation and they have said without a doubt it is not one of their fabrics.
If you have bought some and the pile lifts off in tufts or it pills in the wash it isn't MM.
We got black but I remember there was also a beige one for sale too
Not sure if it's the seller I should be mad at because there is every chance that they too were fleeced (no pun intended ;) ) and purchesed of a suspect supplier that also duped them.
Anyhow time for some complaints to ebay! Let's see if we can get our money back (if it's possible :dunno:)
-
I got that fleece too.... :( . How do we go about a refund then...I havent cut mine yet either
-
Yay! good on you sammi for following that up. I have cut & sewed with mine but its not wat I thought I was getting so still think a refund is in order.
-
Hey guy's just bear with us. We'll start the ball rolling with ebay and see what happens then get you on board as well.
