Who has used Pediasure?
Hi all,
Little V's dietician has had me start her on Pediasure with cows milk now that she is 1. She has been in it for a couple of weeks now, but I feel as though she isnt eating like she used to. I have to say that wasnt that great before, now it is worse. She seems fuller to me, and now isn't really drinking all of it either.
She does seem heavier, but I guess I wont really know until her pead appt in December.
I just really want to know your experiences with peadiasure, and if it made your baby eat less, like make them feel fuller. Did it do a good job with the weight gain?
The reason why I am asking is if V hasnt put on much weight come her next appt, they are looking at referring her to Westmead childrens hospital in the New Year, and they have already made another appt to the Genetics DR's for December too. I am hoping that V can show a big difference with her weight and they decide to watch and see how she goes approach.
I guess I am tired of everytime I feel like she is doing good they take us a few steps back. :shakehead::shakehead:
Thanks in advance.

We were put on paediasure and also other feeding supplements for DD severe FTT. It did help with the weight gain, although it was never used without the other program (HENS supplement program - it is the sort of stuff they put through nasal gastric tubes, but we gave it to her orally as we were trying to avoid having a feeding tube put in).
DD's paediatric dieitican said she was happy with her having around 100ml (i was making it up with cows milk instead of water as that gave me even more calories in it, water gives 200 cal for 200ml - so that is a really decent intake)
There was a study done where they gave kids different quantities of yoghurt, but the smaller ones had extra calories added so it was all even, and the kids could all work out from calorie absorption, rather than net weight, how much to eat. Kids are very very good and knowing when they have had enough (once you can get them to eat), so if she isn't finishing the paeidasure it will be because the calories really do fill up their little tummies. Maybe giver her 100ml in the morning, and 100ml in the afternoon.
We have had about 8 plus months of this, including more tests than i can recall, and a surgery - so it is a lot to go through and i understand exactly how worrying it is.
At DD worst she put on 40g in 4 months (between 6 months and 10 months), and she looked like a little starving Africian baby - it broke my heart.
At the moment we are doing well, we have taken all supplements away for a 2 months trial - i am going for a weigh in today hopefully, to see if she can gain weight without anything.
Any questions please ask :)

CSAB I will PM you a link that will provide some additional information from some Pedisure users

Thankyou Yael, we are trying to avoid the tubes too, she has had the tube feeding before but not due to her weight due to her coming out of induced coma back in August. It did nothing for her then and I cant see it helping her now. The pead thinks the same, but I am worried if he sends us to the childrens hospital they may suggest it. I am really hoping the pediasure helps with the weight. They are using her length for the weight she should be which is at a 6mth old weight. I have never heard of the hens supplement. I am sure they called it something different when they were giving the tube feeds in hospital.
V is having the pediasure with cows milk, which we were told to do by her dietician. The only problem is, you make it with 190ml milk the the pediasure, and she will be lucky to drink 100ml, sometimes only 50ml. She will have upto about 400ml in a day. So not really that much especially when she isnt eating.
Sorry you have had to see your little baby like that, it is very heartbreaking. I am glad things seem to be going well atm, I hope this 2mth trial proves that she can put on weight on her own. My fingers are crossed and I  it all works out fine. I am so very sorry you have had to go though what you have, your poor little girl. There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Beema - Thankyou for the PM, I had a look at that website, and what people had mentioned about pediasure, it helped somewhat reading the similar reactions, such as turning off food. One had mentioned that once used to it they start eating again, so fingers crossed that happens. Thankyou again hun.
I really appreciate your comments ladies, I was hoping I wasnt going to be the only on BB, that is using it. Thanks.
-
:bump:
If anyone else has experience with pediasure, would love to hear about it.
Thanks

I will try to PM you tonight or tomorrow with a bit more information about the stuff we used. Google Calogen by Nutrica, that is the only thing that really packed on the weight for my daughter. 100g a week when we were using it a lot!
Just had her weighed today - she put on 80g in 35 days. I know they said no weight gain, or any loss and they will do more surgery, byt 80g isn't much for 5 weeks either.. i'm so worried we will head down the path of her weight plateuing, and it just takes a long time to see it on the graph, a few months, which is a long time not to be growing for my little one :(
-
Yael - Sorry to hear about your little girls weight gain, I know it isnt much weight to put on, but gee I hope they dont go down the surgery path again. I understand how worried you are. Its scarey stuff. May I ask how much she weighs now?
Is your DD growing in length, do they measure that? As for V they are going by her length and looking at the graph in the blue book and using the middle line in the graph showing her length. They then use that to work out how much weight she should be. For her length she is showing as a 6mth old, yet her weight is around 1kg plus under the weight for the 6mth old.
I am really hoping that this weight piles on for her, as I am not sure how my DH will take the news if they want her to do tests etc. He wants them to leave her alone, she is perfect in his eyes, just little. She is perfect in my eyes too, but I am the one that the is taking her to all the DR's appt's and hears their concerns and have to relay them back to him. He has told me already he doesnt want them testing on her. She has already been through so much in her short life.
I truly hope your DD shows the Dr's that she can put on weight without anymore surgery. I am so sorry again you are going through this, it truly is heartbreaking.
Sending lots of gaining weight vibes your way for your DD.
I will check out the cologen, thanks for that. We are atm adding poly-joule to her milk too.

HI Csab. The problem with that though is if there is an underlying medical condition that can be treated, then she needs to have all the tests done, even though it would be breaking your heart to have to do it. I really hope that this works for her and that she is soon gaining weight nicely
-
Trillian - If she needs to have them done, then we will definately have them done, but only if it needs to be. The problem is the DR's have kept telling me that my bub could possibly have a chromosome problem, they were looking into Noonans syndrome. I kept telling them that she doesnt and that all of her features are from different parts of the family. They have been monitoring her since she was born. They have started to see that she doesnt have what they thought she did. I just dont want them using her as a guniea pig trying to find something wrong when their isnt iykwim.
She has always been a small bub, and takes forever to gain weight, but when she got very sick, she lost weight too quickly, so once she was recovering she had alot more weight to gain to get back to where she started before she got sick. So that took some time. They seem to keep forgetting that set back.
I have done everything the DR's have wanted in relation to her, as I want them to see for themselves how perfect she really is.
She is a happy little girl and does everything she is meant to for her age. I guess I just wish this would all end with them being happy with her for once. Ive seen her fight for life, and I have seen how scared she was of DR's/Nurses after that too. It took ages for her to start to relax around her pead too. I am so worried they will put the feeding tubes in, as it didnt do her any favours last time. She didnt gain any weight, and was craving her bottle and food. Her pead is also not wanting them to tube feed her.
Thankfully she has built up some fat on her thighs and she keeps rubbing her belly as her belly is a bit more chubbier too. So I really do hope this works.
Thanks..... hugs

csab, sending you some gentle
I was just wondering if V was considered SGA *Small for Gestational Age) or IUGR (Inuterine Growth Restriction) when she was born as I think she was around the same size as DD (2350grams), but DD was a 33 weeker so she was within the average weight for her gestation? The reason why I am asking is that I was chatting with one of my prem friends (IRL) and her little boy was IUGR. They have recently gone to see a new Paed as they felt they weren't connecting with their old one and when he did an assessment on LG, and he looked at his weight (less than 7kg at over 2 years of age), eating habits etc (he pretty much only eats mushie foods), and what he actually said that SGA and IUGR bubs actually have less cells within their bodies when they are born. This means that there are less cells devoted to putting on fat, so that it is unlikely that he will ever be a big boy, and that not to worry about what types of food he is eating, that as he gets older you will be able to reason and discuss with him about different foods and textures, and introduce them that way.
I am not sure if that is relevant for you and V or not but it was really interesting information, and I have quite a few friends who have SGA and IUGR bubs and I don't know any of them that are actually big bubbs/toddlers now, they are all quite petite, so the information our friends new Paed disucssed seems to make sense to me.
She sounds like she is doing wonderfully with her milestones, which is a great sign. Quick weight loss when sick is also so disheartening, after waiting so long for that weight to go on and to see it just go so quickly is heartbreaking. It took N quite a while to catch hers back up from her first hosy stay, we were lucky that her other visits and stays she wasn't as ill, we were treating her quicker and the impact was less.
Big :comfort: and  you and little V
-
Thanks Beema, V was full term, by my dates she was born 9days early, but the hospital put her down as born 38weeks. They didnt class her as IUGR, they classed her a SGA. She was born 2380gms then dropped down to 2100gm while in hospital so dropped down from 5pd 2 ounce to 4pd 8oun and didnt reach her birth weight until she was 5wks 4days.
She had no fat what so ever on her body, so she more or less had to start from scratch and build her own fat stores.
We finally got her upto 5.3kg the day we had to admit her to hospital for bronchiolitis she was 8 1/2mths old and dropped back down to 4.8kg a week later, which is alot for a slow gainer to lose. Even on her discharge to all of their amazement she was still 4.8kg a week later.
So now 4mths on she is 5.9kg (her last weigh in was 2weeks ago) at the age of 1, which I would suspect she would have been at least 6.5kg (possibly a bit more as it took a while to get her back to normal after her hospital stay), if she didnt get sick the way she did.
I am glad your friend found a better pead, hearing it the way her pead explained to her does make sense. V will eat normal food, without them being all mushy, which there isnt a problem in that area, it is just the small amounts she will eat.
I am sorry you had to face the same sort of problem after N's first hospital stay, it is very disheartening.
You know it was the first time I had ever heard them mention Failure to thrive was during her hospital stay. Her pead never mentioned it at all, even though he was keeping a close eye on her weight etc since birth. Came as quite a shock to hear it like that, you know in those words.
Thanks for understanding, how I am feeling and for letting me know about your friends little one and their pead.
I hope little N is doing well.

V had a similar start to Nakita, with very slow weight gain, she hadn't put on any weight when we were discharged, she was 2180 on dishcharge, a week later 2170, but lucky enough that in the third week she put on some weight so we were ok to keep going, she took 4 weeks to hit her birth weight so a bit quicker than V and things went along slowly until she was about 10 weeks then she started losing weight, so it was at that point we were "told" to use formula top ups, I am in two minds as to whether at the time this was the right thing to do or not, as there were a number of factors that resulted in the weight loss and I should have persevered for another week to overcome those issues and see how we went, especially after doing quite a bit of research afterwards.
I know what it is like having a baby with no fat stores at all, Nakita was all skin and bones as well, she has rolls of skin, and her bum was just a series of creases (like lots of bum cracks ;)), not even a little bit round or plumb. But as she was my first I knew she was small but didn't really realise how skinny until I was with other mums at a mums group and I saw chub next to my very skinny minny :(. She was 45.5cm at birth so quite tall, so that didn't help the "look" of her.
I completely understand the word FTT as well, that is what we encountered at 10 weeks, she was almost 1kg under the 3rd%ile. Hearing those words is like a knife through your heart, using the word "failure" to a mother is the most horific word to hear, I felt like I had failed.
I would have to agree that inserting a NGT may be a step backwards, with quite a few tube fed bub friends I have seen the impact that the tube has, and when you think about it, it would be horrible having a tube tickling the back of your throat 24/7 trying to swallow food, milk etc would be very uncomfortable, and I have seen bubs go backwards being on tube feeds.
A mum from mothers group had a little girl at 36 weeks who was SGA she was just on 2kg and she is a very petit little thing, and I find it interesting that her Paed like yours looked at the whole picture of her size, her growth and development milestones and even though she was quite tiny, similar to V, he never mentioned FTT as it was "normal" for her.
Have they recommended fattening up her meals, with butter, cream etc, to get extra fats into her that way as well?
N is doing well, when she started solids at 6 months she just started putting on weight, it was like a light turned on and she was off, we have been lucky in a few ways that she wasn't an active bub, the hypermobility meant she didn't roll until 12 months and has only just started crawling in the last few weeks, so we got extra time for her to chub up, if she was an early mover it might have been a different story, as when they are little and get moving they can move a lot quicker as they have less weight to shift and getting them to chub up while on the move can be even harder.
N lost 400 grams during her first stay, from loss to regaining back to her pre hospital weight it was 8 weeks. But at that stage she had enough chub for it to not be of a concern.
Sending you all the chubby vibes I can :comfort:, I hope V doesn't need to go through too much testing
-
Oh hun, sending you lots of hugs . It sounds as though you are doing a wonderful job with your little girl :). I can't imagine how stressful it must be to go through this over such a long period of time.
My DS was borderline IUGR, and borderline FTT for the first 4 months of his life. He was born at 35 weeks, so that complicated things a little bit in the early days. I found it to be so all-consuming, worrying about his weight and feeding all the time. For whatever reason, things picked up when he was about 4 months old (well, there were probably a few reasons, but I won't list them all here). The biggest factor we could find was when he was diagnosed as having cow's milk/soy/nut protein intolerances. The more he had of those proteins, the less weight he put on, and the more immune deficient he became. Especially past 12 months of age. Fortunately, it wasn't too long after that that he was diagnosed, and changing his diet made an enormous difference in many ways.
I'm not at all suggesting that this in any way relates to your lovely DD, just sharing my experience, and saying that sometimes there is often a reason for these things. Of course, figuring out what it is is the hard part. Sending you lots of strength and support as you continue this journey
-
They have told us to add butter/marg to everything she eats etc, but it is getting her to eat them. She is such a stubborn child too, if she doesnt want something she wont have it. She fights you, not to have it. So what are you to do.
As you mentioned once they start moving around its harder to put on the weight, V started crawling about a month before her last pead appt, but was commando crawling alittle before that. Which we were trying to get her to put more weight on before that happened. It certainly didnt help her last appt with her on the move, but her pead didnt take that into consideration either. You is flying around the house now, and is liking holding onto hands so she can walk, so it may not be all that long that she will be getting up walking.
With FTT, I felt the same, like I have failed her. It isnt a pleasant word to hear.
I too stopped BF at around 6wks with V as I started to feel as though maybe it was my milk not giving her what she needed to gain weight, but even when she was on formula, it didnt make much more of a difference. She also got constipated while on the formula and would scream and cry everytime she needed to do a number 2. I ended up changing her formula to Novalac constipation to help her out with that and it worked.
Was a bit worried about how she would cope with the change to cows milk, but she hasnt had a problem with it so seems good.
I am glad N is doing better with her weight gain, thats great. Your lucky she waited alittle bit before getting on the move. I was hoping V would gain abit of weight before she was more mobile, but at the same time I was worried that if she wasnt crawling at least then it would give the DR's something else to pick at with her. So I was in two frames of mind. V is a quiet little thing, very happy and loves her big bro's and sis's, she laughs at them all the time. She has the cutest little tantrum, when she wants to be picked up. She sits on the floor and lays her head down on the floor, with her arms laying flat, and whimpers then sits up with a sad face and waits for you to come and pick her up, if you dont come quick enough she repeats it. lol. Sounds like N has a similar temperment at V, its very girly. So cute. My other DD's would just yell the house down until they get what they want. Fingers crossed V doesnt follow their footsteps in that regard.
V and N did have a similar start didnt they. V was 2180gms at 2weeks old. She was 47cm long and a hc of 34cm when born.
As of 2weeks ago, she was 5.9kg, lgth: 65cm and HC: 43cm.
If you would believe it, they even had me worried that her head may not grow as her fontonell (soft spot) was too small, and they were saying that if her head didnt grow then they would be looking at doing surgery. So glad she proved them wrong with that too.
Thanks for this chat Beema, it has been helpful.
-
Janie - Thankyou for sharing about your DS, so glad they found out why your DS wasnt gaining weight. So glad all is going great for you and your little man too now. Thats great news. How is your pgcy going? I hope all is going well.
-
HI all,
Just thought I would continue on with this, and let you all know that the pediasure seems to be helping little Miss V. Although at the beginning she would only have the pediasure and seemed to full to eat anything, she has now started to eat a bit more. Even has started eating some meat. She started out with a bare weight of 5.9kg and 5weeks on is now clothed weight 6.5kg, I can actually start feeling her getting heavier. Ohh and her little belly is getting abit more plump.
She has her pead appointment Mid December so hopefully she would have put a few more 100gms on each week. Hopefully will impress the pead, and dietician as well as Genetics Dr's.
Will let you all know what her next weigh in will be, which will be her bare weight from the pead. HUgs all,
-
WOW :o
That is wonderful news CSAB, what amazing gains for little V, for a plump little belly :D I am so happy for you today, your news really brightened up my day :D
:leap:
-
Thanks Beema, I have never seen her with chubby thighs, and now you can see little rolls. Its sooo nice to see. Its nice seeing her fill out a bit. Still getting asked by people if V was premmie. A lady yesterday had her DS same age as V running around and asked how old V was. When we told her she was 13mths, she couldnt believe it as her DS is double the size. lol. Hows little Nakita going?
-
Oh the first rolls are just the most divine thing :)
It reminds me when we caught up with our mothers group one week, all th eother babies had lots of gorgeous rolls. Nakita had started to get a crease (the beginnings of a roll) on her thigh, I was soo darned excited, I think the other girls thought I was a bit nutty
But I think it was really just a lack on understanding...
To hold and cuddle your child for months on end, feeling and knowing there are so skinny, their bottom not being round and plump, but a series of creases of skin. When they raise their eye brows there are rolls of skin, with features similar to a very old frail person. To see a baby fill out, the bones dissappearing and the facial features rounding out, it just a beautiful moment and should be treasured. It begins to lift those fears and the feelings of failure, finally I am doing something right (even though all along your have been, but you finally get to see the rewards) :comfort:
Nakita is doing well, she has started puling up on furniture and has the desire to want to walk, she really wants to run, but still has a lot of work on her stabilizing muscles and core before she will be a stable walker. I estimate sometime in the new year, unlikely between now and Christmas. She is taking some steps holding on with one hand, but has a very wide stance and is quite unstable and doesn't seem to be able to maintain and centre of balance. But it will all come in time, we are just over the moon with her developments since starting physio 5 months ago :D
I am just so hapy for you, that the Pedi is making a difference, I can't wait to see how big she is by her Paed's appointment!
Take care and warm hugs
-
I've been lurking Cheryl, just wanted to say  so happy that the pediasure is working and little V is fattening up a bit! Keep it up bubba!
-
I tried to post a while ago but I ended up losing the post, then forgot to get back in here and re post it. So sorry in advance girls.
Beema- I hear you with the rolls, its so nice to see them appearing especially when there werent any signs of them to begin with. It just makes you feel like things are going in the right direction. I dont think some people really realise the im pact these the rolls have on us until they experience it themselves. Speaking of bottoms, I can see V's butt get a little chubbier, yet her thighs just put a smile on my face.
V is doing the same as Nakita, walking around the furniture, she isnt steady on her feet though still alittle shakey mainly when holding one hand, so may take a while before she can take her first steps on her own. I am so thrilled for you that Nakita is progressing well, what a journey you have been on.
Since last time I posted here, V was doing well until the weekend and ended up sick. So now trying to get her to eat properly again. So I am hoping that with her being sick it hasnt interfered with her weight gains. I guess I will know for sure soon. I am thinking of you and Nakita... hugs.
thepixie - Thanks so much for popping in hun, It is such a good feeling seeing the fat appearing, she is still quite small though, but she is getting there. I really appreciate you coming in. Thanks again. Hugs
-
Great news csab on the chub front, I love it when the little bum gets round and plump, Nakita's is lovely now :D
How is Miss V going since the weekend, is she increasing her intake again? I hope that a little bump has little or no impact on her gains, but I think the Paed will be happy with the improvement so far, she has come a long way in such a short amount of time with the Pedi.
Nakita's walking is improving all the time, physio is pushing her further each time and we have a little push along trolley, with a couple of sandbags in it as it slips on the polished concrete floors, so it can't go too fast and she is loving pushing that, we just have to turn it for her as she can't turn it yet.
We have another physio session Monday then we have a break until January when she gets assessed again, but we are hoping that she will get discharged then, we saw the senior physio Monday before our normal session and she was really happy with her development since the intervention and said she will be walking in to our session in January :D
Take care and praying for lots of chubby rolls for Miss V :hugs:
-
Thanks Beema, V has the flu, so still hastn been eating a great deal unfortunately. I did have her weighed on Friday, and was 6.75kg fully clothed and a bit of a full nappy. Will find out next week though how much exactly she has put on at the peads next week. She now has 12 teeth. Her Dr, seemed to think she looked skinnier than last time she saw her, but longer.
How did Nakita's physio go today? I hope all went well. Wanted to say, what a great idea with the sandbags. The walkers go too fast for V too, so worry she is going to fall flat on her head.
Do you think Nakita has small ankles and wrists. V has such tiny ankles and wrists, We were at a little boys b'day party yesterday and I was looking at some fo the bubs there and their ankles looked huge compared to her. One little girl is 8weeks older than V and I swear her ankles are 10times the size of V's.
Cant wait to hear how everything went for little Nakita, I so hope she blew them away with how wonderful she is doing.
Hugs
-
Hey csab, I hope Miss V is over the flu now, poor little munchikin, I hope this weeks weighin goes well, thinking big fatty vibes for Miss V, 12 teeth WOW!!! I think we are up to about the same, getting trickier to see :D
N's ankles and wrists were very small for a long time, but since she chubbed up a bit they have filled out, but I clearly remember looking at other bubs rounded out feet and seeing N's skinny little feet I wondered if they would ever fatten up!
Last weeks physio went really well, she didn't do anything particularly new, but was good as usual in the sessions, still not a fan on the big fit ball, I think we have only had one session where that didn't result in tears :(
We have a break now with the physio until January, and you saw that last night she took 6 steps, unaided, it was awesome!! She wouldn't have a bar of it today at DC or home tonight, but she will do it again in her own time ;)
She is still shaky on her feet, which is why we were really surprised when she did walk, holding onto two hands she is quite good, one she slows right down, behind the trolley she is quite quick.
We are doing lots of practice with her on the carpet upstairs, as out floors downstairs are polished concrete and not so nice to fall on your bum on!
It is a bit bizarre now that she has made those few steps I do woder how long it will take before she begins to actually walk, it doesn't really matter when that is, but to have a mirror ball ;)
I hope all goes well with your appointment this week, and will hopefully pop back in when I have a break in work (my new job is crazy!!)
Take care and healthy fatty vibes for Miss V xxoo
-
HI Beema, hows everything going? Has N had her physio yet, or when is it this month. I hope she gets good results. How is that walking going? V is still pushing her walker around, doesnt appear to feel gain to try and stand on her own or walk on her own with out the help of the walker yet. I am not worried though she will get there in her own time. Just hope the the DR's dont start whining about her not walking on her own come March though. Thats if she hasnt started on her own by then.
V is going well with the pediasure, at her last appt she was 6.54kg with the pead (bare weight). Had her weighed with the dietician clothed yesterday and she weighed 7kg, so I am thinking about 6.8kg bare. She is now 70cm. She is also talking about only having one more appt and then maybe not having to see her again, so fingers crossed for that one.
How was your christmas and New Years. I hope you had a wonderful time and so did little N.
Cant wait to hear how N goes with her appt. Ohh thanks for telling me about N's little ankles, it will be great to see V's fill out. Hugs
I also forgot to tell you that I talked her pead into letting us see how the pediasure works for V before we take her to the childrens hospital, thankfully he was happy to do the wait and see approach as he was also quite happy with her weight gain when he weighed her, so yay for that.
xoxo

Hi Csab :)
Work is crazy, but challenging, it was a pity that the job was left is such a mess, I feel I am finally getting it sorted than I find something else that is just in a shambles and things that were supposed to have been done weren't, but at least it isn't me that has done the wrong thing I just get to sort it all out!
Nakita has her physio appointment on the 25th of January, it will be great to take her in and she can show off making her steps, she will do quite a few now if we squat down and keep moving back so that she still fells close to us. In the last day or two she has finally gone from just going person to person, to going from the couch to a person. Generally she is happy to walk holding onto one of our hands or two, and is just building that bit of extra confidence to walk by herself.
And tonight she actually got down from the couch by herself :o But I didn't get to see it as I was upstairs getting her bits and pieces for bed, but DH said she rolled over, spun around legs over the side and slid down - we have been practicing it for months
We have her 18 month check coming up I was hoping to book it in on Friday, but we have people coming to work on the house  But hopefully soon :)
That is just wonderful news about V's weight gains, I am absolutely thrilled and that they have allowed you to keep going without going to the Children's Hosy :D I think she will be fine walking by March, she is showing great signs by walking behind the trolley, and it just takes time and confidence, and the more time she spends behind the trolley the more her confidence will grow.
WOW maybe just one more appointment WOW, oh I am really crossing xxxxxxxx my fingers for you on that one, it would be just wonderful if that was the case.
Christmas and new years was lovely, catching up with family and friends an keeping it all pretty casual :)
Thankyou for the update, jsut wonderful news and I hope that with the next weigh in she flys past 7 kg bare :D
Take care xxoo
-
:hello: hi Cheryl, just having a little stalk  great to hear that V is gaining - :crossfingers: she puts on lots more weight and you don't have to go back to the paed! She will walk soon, she must look so tiny trying to walk even now, she is so petite.
 to you too Vic :) Can't wait to hear how Miss N goes at her next physio appointment.

Beema- Wow, can you believe your little Miss N is 18months already, it goes too quick. I am still getting my head around V being 15mths. Let me know how her 18mth check up goes and also how her Appt on the 25th goes. I am sure she is going to knock their socks off with how wonderfully she is doing.:dance::dance:
Its such a good feeling seeing them try things on their own, like getting off the couch. V still wont attempt it unless she is sitting on me then she will slide down. With some strain in her face, until she touches the floor.
V is also lacking in confidence, but as I mentioned she will ge their and so will Miss N.
I had forgotten to mention our visit to the genetics Dr last month, she is wanting us to still come back and see her but in 18mths time, so a while yet. I still believe they are trying to find a syndrome on V, as they are trying to push for more tests to be done. I mentioned to them that the only thing I am concerned about was her weight, nothing else. She is doing everything that my others were doing at her age, their is nothing there that is concerning me. So if she is happy and doing everything she should be then I dont want to disrupt that. I have told them that I dont want anymore testing done unless something changes to warrant it. I also didnt want to put her through anything unnecessary especially after what she had already been through, and that she is still getting over her fear of DR's. So she agreed, and also mentioned how happy she is with her progress and mentioned that she will see her in 18mths time. I had asked her to find out if they tested her placenta after she was born, so I knew what condition it was in and to see if the placenta was failing her, so she is looking into that. She said they may have not tested it. Still havent heard from her.
PM me with your mobile number and I will send you a video of her pushing around her walker. She thinks she is the best, its soo cute.
I am so glad you had a wonderful christmas and New Years, we did too. Now its time for getting ready for the next one. :D
Take Care hun and give Miss N a big hug and kiss from V and I.
Pixie - Hi hun, hows everything going? I hope you had a wonderful New Years and Christmas too. Another year down. Going so fast.
Thanks for stalking hun, it is so nice of you. It is the dietician that is talking about having no more visits, but the Pead is still seeing her every 3mths sometimes less than that. I think their will be a party when we no longer have to see him. :D Maybe when she is a better weight he may have her visits to him less frequently, so fingers crossed for that. Its funny I held V's hands while she walked so slowly into the peads office so he can see that she is trying. He probably thought ohh just pick her up, but I really wanted him to see for himself without me telling him all the time. Hopefully next time she will be able to run in. hehehe.
How is your little princess going? I hope all is going well for you. Take care hun, hugs
