Hi Maz
Sorry - haven't got any magic potions for you - but i followed the Flat Belly Diet last year, and lost centimetres without doing any exercise. Not sure if you've heard of it, but if you google it you should find some info.
good luck - and i hope you're feeling better soon.
thanks so much....im going nuts atm.
I cant walk quickly ot for to long wihtout ending up in pain the next day due to stitches in a 'delicate' place
will google now
I've been doing Bodytrim & I have not done any exercise and consistently lose a kilo at least a week. I do do yoga, but I am not your sweat it up kinda girl...
I highly recommend it... I know it's hard - after 5 babies my body was really depressing me. I am close to target now and feel great! You can do it Mazzy Baby!
I've been unable to exercise for the best part of three years and have lost weight so take heart Maz, it can be done :)
You just have to make sure that you eat good stuff, no junk AND you eat small portions. I can't stress the importance of cutting back the portions.
For instance, sushi is healthy but I used to eat three pieces between meals and wonder why I was either putting on weight or not losing any.
bodytrim.....now why does that sound so familiar??? Im sure Jed ordered something out of a magazine called that.
Id love to do Yoga...oh I am so jealous :(
Low carb like Tony Ferguson is ideal for low exercise, but its best to exercise regardless so you tone an dont sag... like we need more of that...
Don't get me wrong Maz - it's hard at first BUT the good thing is that you can still eat what you want. No silly can't have this, can't have that. Still have it all, no feeling guilty - just small amounts.
Gradually - I reckon it takes a few days - your body really gets used to having smaller serves because your stomach shrinks and it's a fantastic feeling seeing the scales go down, with no special effort required in terms of changing your entire diet.
Oh, and don't know if it applies to you but I used to love my booze. I had to radically reduce that, otherwise no amount of healthy/moderate eating would make up for the amount of wine I liked to drink.
I did the herbal life shakes last year when i lost 15kg and walked...I cant exercise cause of my bum hon :( its way to painful atm still. (maz might get her hands on some shakes again methinks)
no...doesnt apply to me.....I dont drink much bar special occasions (BB meet up weekends ). I just dont eat right, to big proportions and no breakfast and I dont drink enough water....I blody forget to do it all the time  I can go a whole day without drinking anything.
Yes, low carb(not no carb) are excellent for limited exercise ability. I lost lots on tf, the problem is you have to buy their shakes/soups which works out to about 45 a week. The rest of what they sell is optional.
That's why I love BT. You don't buy shakes you eat real food! When you eat low carb you find you don't get hungry & don't crave sweets.
I actually think we eat waaaaaay too many carbs, wheat etc in our diets. With BT you have a free day once a week where you can wihtout guilt eat your treat foods! I love that! The second week I baked my favourite Nigella cheesecake & could only half a slice - (cheesecake is my weakness...)
You really do need to drink a lot of water - thirst can feel like hunger. Also we need to keep hydrated as you are well aware I know.
BT is advertised on the morning show I think but also online...
But it's not the only low carb diet. I found Atkins worked but it stopped working IYKWIM...
I can't do shakes because I don't like all the crappolla!
can you do upper body exercise, like boxing? even just air boxing can lift your heart rate and your metabolism.
holding hand weights or cans of soup can add some resistance.
Can you do some resistance? Like with your arms? You will just need a small set of weights. Can you not do a light yoga class?
ETA: sorry Kate, I was a bit slow :)
Persoanally I really dislike diets that cut out one type of food or another, as from personal experience you lose heaps of weight but learn no good habits and pile it all straight back on again. I reccomend learning a little about calories, and choosing low calorie food so you can eat more and not be full. This was you will not be hungry but your total calorie intake should be less. You can do it on your own, or joing a group like Weight Watchers who tend to teach lifestyle changes rather than sudden weight loss diets.
Also, there will probably be some exercise you can do, it is just a case of finding the right one. So if you are immobile then some chair exercises for your upper body. If you can, leg raises when sitting can be really beneficial and there are lots of similar exercises you can do. Some leisure centres offer aqua exercise classes for less mobile people. It depends on why you cannot currently exercise, so speak to your GP or contact a personal trainer who specialises in injury or disability and see what they suggest.
Good luck hunny!

Righto you lot!!!!!!
You have got my brain ticking dangerously overtime
upper body work..yep...I like that
calorie counting.....hmmmm I could do that but I do eat WAY to many carbs.
I cant do much leg wise as I have a big loop that is holding together my number 2 exit ;) which is helping it heal back together BUT every 4 weeks I have to get this stich replaced and tightened so that my hoo haa comes back to were its ment to. This means that I have alot of pain for 1 1/2 weeks of the month were if I sweat and it goes there (youd be surprised how much you feel) it feels like knives due to the rawness of the flesh, let alone stretching and trying to squat at all after ive had it done.
So yes waist down exercise is OUT! Im going to dig out J mans hand weights later.
:loveshower: thank you all so much
Ohhh yoga is amazing maz!!!! I use to do it twice a week (need to get back into it) and after an hour of it I would walk out of there feeling absolutely amazing and light without a care in the world
Could you for instance, give yourself a smaller plate, so you end up having a smaller portion, but it fills the plate more, that way psychologically you mind sees that you are have a full plate infront of you, reality is that the serving size is smaller. I saw that someone actually lost quite a bit of weight by doing this, I think the plate had a different colour in the middle and she was only "allowed" to put food on the inner blue circle.
Also try smaller meals more often, so you would do 5 meals a day rather than 3 big ones, and keep any carbs to the start of the day, so that your body has the opportunity to burn them off. Switch to whole grains/meal.
Oats for breakfast with some fruit is a great kickstart for you day, it helps keep everything regular :) Also skip the "light" foods espceially yogurts etc, as most of the have extra sugar in them instead
We only have carbs at dinner occassionally and we found it makes a big difference.
I know it is hard to drink water, I too go long periods without it and then realise and skull a heap , but I find that if I am craving a soft drink or something sweet, that I make myself drink a large glass of water first to "fill up" that way I don't feel the need to go back for more, and I can have a small treat and not feel as guilty.
I agree with the light weights, upper boddy work out.
I do have a diet that is quite strict, but it goes for 8 weeks and it kickstarts your metabolism, it is high in protein, low in fats and no carbs, I am happy to PM you it, and explain it in a bit more detail, I used it as a kick start to lose my baby gain and it made a huge difference and I have kept the weight off and am still 4kg what I was pre preg with DD :)
Ther have been some great suggestions, goodluck Maz you can do it
Weight watchers all the way!!! You can eat what you like (as long as u stick to your points). It teaches you more about changing your lifestyle than "dieting" as such IYKWIM. I dont like these Tony Furgerson ones, i have a friend who went there and had to cut out potato, bread, pasta etc... stuff that i say!
Just look at my ticker and i have only been doing WW for 3 weeks! Yes ofcourse i do some exercise.. but u can just lower your points to counteract the no exercise until u can get moving again. And.. its only $1 to join at the moment!!!
UPDATE
Ive gone and bid on a trailer bike and im going to buy a bike in the next few weeks.
This was I'll get exercise wihtout hurting that 'region'
Im doing something good for the enviroment by not driving the car everywere
The kids will LOVE it..they'll be safe and warm in it.
And I can get to places quicker and easier with it.
WIsh me luck girls and thank you all
wont the seat be uncomfy though?
There are some bigger seats (I think they are just called a female seat) rather than the male or racing seats, you can also get wool covers for them, but I reckon Maz could sew up something funkier and comfier :D
I got on Dudies bike and worked out that by sitting on a bike seat will actually...umm part the ways ;) and not cause any pressure or rubbing IFYKWIM. It was quiet comfortable and allowed me to feel human lol
Im getting a ladies bike and they all tend to come with a bigger seat..and yes...will defently be making a minkee cover with padding for it lol.
My new bike has a nice big seat :) plus suspension in it... have been riding everywhere :)
oh share Tan...were did you get it from??? Have you got a trailer for the back aswell??

Yep, pacific trailer. Not too heavy with V and B on long distance rides... comfy ont he bum... Should upload some pics to FB... but you aren't my friend!! BAHAHAHAHAHA!! I am such a B with an itch ;)
Got it from Don ash, tis a Norco mountain bike, got a last seasons for a bit over half price! It has a great step through frame so no having to hike my leg up to get on. I think Leigh egans have a 20% off sale at the moment...
