Just signing in!!!! Went for a walk and did some sit ups today....although I remember someone telling me you shouldn't do sit ups after having a baby, especially after a c-section - it's been 6 months almost, surely that's ok now?
-
Didn't get to send in yesterday as we moved on the w/end, still unpacking etc so as soon as i can get on the scales will post, the take away while moving wont have helped but hopefully all the lifting etc did
GL everyone, hope your all well.. will be back to normal and on top of things in a couple of days.
-
Congratulations to everyone whose still going! :)
Alison: Just do what feels comfortable. I had c/s too, and even now I still get little twinges around my scar if I move the wrong way.
Have had a very lazy 3 days. Have still been eating okay, and exercising a little, but have mostly been lying on the couch with DS while he's been sick (middle ear infection, poor thing). Feeling very lethargic, but DS is on the mend now so I'll hopefully be back in the swing of things soon.
-
still going, just havent been able to wiegh in :( my 2 1/2 yo broke our scales
so getting new ones this week and will be weighing in again
have been so busy with starting the business i have not been eating very well, but hvaen't been eating poorly either, so hope im stable
-
Hi there gals,
I'm subscribing to keep myself honest and to try and avoid diet and exercise self sabotage..something I seem to be good at lately!
I would like to try doing it slowly and sensibly as I had DS 3 months ago still feeding and I find too much exercise = far less milk by the end of the day!
Krysalyss - What measurements do I need to take?
Good luck everyone else!
-
I'm still here although have been unable to weigh in too! I promise to be a better weigh in buddy this month :D I am doing the Global Corporate Challenge with work so I have a pedometer on me all the time and I have to log my steps in every day so I have something to be accountable for - if this doesn't keep me on track, nothing will.
-
bb77 - I have it all listed in the first post :)
I am so sick today. I tried to get up this morning and the world just tilted. Now everytime I move my head to the side the world spins and I get that bile taste in my mouth - yuk! So think I am out for exercise today - at least the nausea helps me eat less - ha ha! I swear I am sick every second week this year.
-
Alison I agree with Sterla, whatever feels right. FWIW I'm pretty sure your wound is as healed as it gets 4months afterward, so whatever you can.
Krys, that sounds a bit nasty, hope you're well soon.
Zarava hope the move went well, all that lifting and bending finds muscles you couldn't workout if you tried lol. We've just done our fourth move since Darcy was born and are about to embark on our fifth :wall: soon it will end....
Nai how's your finger?
bb welcome hun. I found that too (too little food and too much exercise affecting milk I mean) - slowly slowly. Make positive food and gentle exercise choices.
Sterla hope your little guy is on the mend soon.
Kawzuki just about to send you a PM, but your business looks great!
My our list has gone down a bit since the first weeks.
AFM back on track. Dh is back to work and I have my bits of exercise settled into a nice routine...all dependent on DS but at least it's fluid to cope.
-
Had a bad day food-wise. Too much raisin toast with butter (drool), half a packet of mint slice, KFC for tea, and some tim tams... :shakehead:. No exercise either, but lots of housework. I think the past 4 days with DS being so sick and clingy finally caught up with me.
New day tomorrow. No junk food left in the house, and gym tomorrow night.
-
urgh, me either Sterla. Feeling like rubbish myself today, and with 2 sick kiddos as well, motivation wasn't high on the list today.....
Tomorrow I will feel 100% :crossfingers:
-
Found my scales but i think they are playing tricks on me.... last night i weighed myself and i was 101kg now this morning i thought will do a morning weigh and i am 99.8 ??????????????? can that even be possible?
How is everyone, hope everyone who is sick or has sick kiddies are feeling better.
The move went ok, so so much to unpack still but should keep me on my toes, am going away for the w/end tomorrow so gotta get a bit done before DP's left here by himself... lol
-
Hi all hope those of you unwell or with unwell kidlets are bouncing back, that was our week last week and we descended into exercise free calorie laden chaos :| Its all about how you bounce back from here!
Last day or two has been ok here, yesterday I managed an exercise dvd and also some walking with a friend down at harbourtown..the benefits of that probably undone by kfc for lunch! Why does it seem like the healthy food options are more expensive?
Am v sore from exercise dvd, its a new one my goodness i feel like i have found muscles I did not think I had!
Today I managed to get out of the house and a walk to local cafe (about 3km round trip) I figure the walk pushing 30kg ( pram + toddler + 3 month old) I figured I had earned my coffee today! No toilet training accidents by toddler (nor me ;)) which was a bonus too!
Is anyone trying to calorie count/points count as well? I have just started again, it feels like such an effort to record everything..am using calorie king which is quite easy to use.
ZF I reckon re your weight differential it is possible, could be about water retention..how's your salt consumption? Do you have scales that record the details like body fat, body water body muscle etc? In any event I would take the 99.8 :)
-
Sort of bouncing back today... was really good all day, eating well and did my work out DVD - but then I kind of bought some cheezels at the supermarket, and now we're going out for tea tonight for my brother's birthday, and I doubt I'll have much restraint... then there's the birthday cake afterwards (which is covered in cream).
But back to it tomorrow (again). Am going to a class in the morning.
Oh, and Mel and I renewed our gym membership, so we're locked in for the next year. Surely that in itself will be enough motivation to keep exercising - don't want to waste the money, lol.
Well, better go and bake this birthday cake.
-
Sterla - Wow, you're locked in now! Hope the Gym membership adds incentive for you and Mel.
BB77 - Welcome! The more the merrier :) There's some great tips in here and Krysalyss is doing a great job keeping track of our stats for us. WTG with the walking, the extra effort pushing the pram and 2 kids sure adds up! I've got a 15kg toddler, a 10kg baby and a 13kg pram.
Zarava - I notice I always weigh less in the morning than I do at night, that's why I weigh in in the morning ;) Not sure why though.
Kim - Hope you felt better today and your kiddos were better too.
Alison - Hope you and Amelia are feeling better. You should be fine to do crunches, maybe start with modified crunches in case your scar is still a little sore?
Krys - Hope you're feeling better!
Kawazuki - How did your toddler break your scales?
Can't remember anything from the previous thread. Good luck for this week everyone, we're nearly halfway! Hope those of us that are left can all stick it out together until the end.
My Mother's Group share a personal trainer and do Boot Camp style training twice a week. I joined them on Saturday for the first time and was sore for 3 days after! But I'm going to stick it out and keep doing the boot camp at least once a week for the rest of the challenge, no matter how cold it gets here. I've been pretty good with food this week, thanks to Calorie King. Will have to see if it makes a difference on the scales.
-
bb I use calorie king and have oft used WW points system in the past. For the moment the calorie counting works for me. In the morning wile I'm eating my brekky i plan what I'm going to eat for the day and key it in. Then at the end of the day I delete what i haven't eaten and see if there's any left for after dinner.
As much as I wanted to stop eating after dinner I still really need it as I'm feeding a toddler so often and am usually starving.
Can't wait to get myself a new gym membership Sterla, you've def inspired me. I even asked DH and he said, of course you can you love going - remember?
Miss Krys, how you feeling babe?
Zarava, your body does lots of digesting overnight and processing while you're fasting so very possible and another reason to measure and weigh before brekky and after a wee.
lol I was going to ask that about the scale too...Kawazuki how on earth did she manage that?
Suz, boot camp is a great idea. Plenty of calories burned! As much as it's hard and hurts, it's a good hurt.
Thanks to Bella's suggestion I'm back on the green tea. Actually got it to help me feel better and it has. Have been on lots of panadol, water and eucalyptus, and coming round today....so very over green snot though (and no not mine :D). Yesterday i even did yoga, even though i felt like crappola, and I have to say that helped too. DH has still got my stroller and my meitei in the back of the car today so no walking unless I put DS in the peanut sling, but he's getting mighty heavy in that....ah we'll see, they are driving me nuts.
It's a balmy 31degrees here today and it feels so thick it's like the buildup to the wet....
-
Hey everyone, how are we all going?
I weighed in this morning, and despite a bad week with food and not as much exercise as usual, I didn't gain anything - am exactly the same, so pretty happy about that.
I did a BIG workout yesterday morning. Went to a pump class (ouch!) and then did 30 mins treadmill and 15 mins x-trainer - felt pretty good afterwards, an am only a little sore today.
Definitely getting back into the swing of things next week. I am so close to my first goal weight, I think if I stick to things I should be there in a couple of weeks!
Week 7 here we come! :D
-
Hi guys - long time no see ;)
I've been doing SHOCKING with my food choices, my love for chocolate has crept up again, even though it makes me sick (oh the sacrifices I make haha)
Just about to weigh in now - but last week (sorry forgot to PM you Krys) I gained 400g - whoops!! Darn chocolate.
Lucky I've been working out ;)
Better go see what damage I've done this week ;)
ETA - I gained 100g haha!! Not bad with all the chocolate. DH gained 1.5kg though - holy moly.. LOL
-
lol Tay broke them by jumping on them, she thought they were my wii fit board,, oh thank good ness she didnt jump on that
back on track.
been evry good with food choices, have finally got rid of all junk food from my house so my poor family is doing it with me now which makes it easier..
about to jump on the scales now and PM my details through :D:D:D
but i think i need a holiday lol
-
Hi guys. I have still been so sick with vertigo - most days I have been hardly able to get out of bed. This morning I looked after DS with great difficulty but am now back in bed with my laptop - why didn't I think of it before? Hopefully I am getting a bit better but I kind of swing back and forth. It is supposedly pretty common and something to do with my ears. In some people its lasts weeks to months !!!! But the dr said hopefully at my age it won'y last too much more than a week. I lost 1.5kg this week just due to the fact I couldn't eat. Hopefully I won't put too much of it back on. It sure is nice to eat again and last night I even ate at the table and had dessert. So anyway not up to exercise yet but hopefully at least by Wed for soccer - otherwise I will have my cranky pants on!!!
Hope everyone is doing well. Just about to get to the inbox. Take care!
-
Krys- get better soon hun. That sounds awful
Kawazuki- good work on geing back on track!
I can only see the last page so will have to come back later with some more personals.
AFM- I have lost 1.5kg YAY! No exercise this week although I have been so busy that I think I have been doing more incidental exercise than I thought. I have also been having yummy soups for dinner. I love the velish soups So easy to throw in my handbag as well in the morning when I havent had time to pack a lunch. Am also loving fantastic rice crackers with hommus and sometimes I jsut lick the flavour off (the best bit) and give them to the dogs! I know gross but they dont care and then I get less calories!
Will measure myself later then PM Krysalis the results as I havent done measurements for ages adn the tape is in DDs room after she thought it looked like a good toy!
-
Congrats BellaBambina that is a fantastic loss! I need to kick myself up the butt, I'm not doing the greatest and not trying hard enough! Now I'm over my cold and bub is past her cold and wonder week/growth spurt this week I'm going to make an effort! Lost a little this week but still would like more!

BB Challenge Week 6 & 7
Hi all, haven't been very motivated as I haven't lost any weight for a couple of weeks, stuck on the same number. Eating well but not strictly. Haven't been able to do ant exercise the last few days as my pelvis is sore and physio says I need to rest it.
Hopefully I can get back into some exercise soon.
-
Oooh WTG Ali!!!
Kawazuki, totally agree with getting rid of the bad choices making it easier.....boring, but easier :D
Krys, again, hun, really hope it's disappearing fast.
Alison that's the way!!
AFM lost 800gm, so not bad, but not great. Very little exercise this weekend as I have a (couch) bottom problem (cough).....
-
woo hoo everyone..
im being evry good today.. no snacking so far :D which si a bibg thing for me.
had banana smoothie for breaky and cuppa tea..
lun ch ham sandwhich with no butter or extras.
i dont think i have lost anything since last weigh in lol i cant remember but i dont think i gained either :D
-
Back on the wagon today, after I had a 'day off' yesterday. Had so much bad food!
But so far so good today. A couple of vita brits for breakfast, half a banana, one malt biscuit, low fat yogurt and a tuna sandwich for lunch, plus I walked to the shops this morning. Gym tonight too. I'm determined to get under 90kg in the next couple of weeks!
-
Halfway girls! We can do it! Congratulations for those who had losses, even little ones. Congrats too to those who have managed to maintain their weight.
It's been raining here. Nothing like several days worth of rain in a place where you hardly get any, to make you feel like staying indoors and eating. I got this urge to bake bread and then had to stop myself from eating the whole loaf!
I managed to lose 800g this week, better than my 100g last week. I was fairly good with my food, but found it hard to exercise this week. As someone else said, I must be doing a fair bit of incidental exercise. Off to Boot Camp tonight! I'll be in a world of hurt tomorrow, but 'good' hurt IYKWIM :)
Kawa - I am hiding my scales from my toddler now! He has already found the Wii Fit board...
Sterla - Go Sterla! Go Sterla! You'll smash the 90kg mark in the next few weeks!
Kryss - Hope the vertigo is gone soon. Good thing you have a laptop :)

Thanks Krysalyss - well done everyone, Kim you are doing an amazing job well done girl!
I have to get my butt into gear, only 2.5 kgs to go before I hit pre pregnancy.........I always find the last couple the hardest though (groan).
Hey Alicia - we have lost the exact same percentage in weight.....how ironic given our babies are going to be married one day hee hee. xx
-
Sorry i didn't weigh myself still flat chat with the moving stuff and unpacking BUT i will weigh myself first thing in the morning... if thats ok.
Today at the supermarket i bought wholemeal rice and wholemeal wraps for lunch instead of bread, am going to have cold meat, spinach and cheese wraps or spinach and pear.. mmmmm
Am also going to make a massive pumpkin soup.. am thinking of adding spinach to it, would that be nice do you think?
Hope everyone is well.. am hoping that even though it's winter i can enjoy some nice hot yummy food without stacking on the kilos, am trying a few dif things as i REALLY want it to work.
-
Hi Zarava Flutterby - mmmm I love pumpkin soup, might do one in the slow cooker this week - I made a delish minestrone in the slow cooker last week and still have some in the freezer! So good for weight loss soup and healthy. I think spinach in it would be super nice and sooooo full of iron and good for muscle building........well it was for Popeye anyhoo! lol
-
Hi girls,
I have been going pretty well but am going to the movies to see SATC2 so will treat myself with popcorn and a glass of bubbles.
Will try and be good today to make up for it.
Sterla- I am so close to getting into the 80's as well. I am going to try really hard this week to get there. Then we an be 80's girls together! Its been 2 and a half years since I have been in the 80's.
Krys-How are you feeling? Hope the vertigo is going away
ZF- Good going on the changes to wholemeal. That is one of the crucial thing I did to lose my first 10Kg. I changed all white bread, rice and pasta to wholemeal. I actually really like the wholemeal stuff now. Esp fresh wholemeal bread. Its all those little changes that add up to make a big difference. I also cut out juice, full sugar softdrinks and always have skinny lattes now instead of full cream.
Alison- I make a minestrone soup as well but add some steak to it as well so that the meat goes tender. It is so nice. Plenty of protein and veg.
Suz- I think the incidental exercise is helping me as well. YAY for that!
Kim- PMSL! the couch bottom problem gets me sometimes as well. I sometimes do the whole ad breaks thing and get on the floor and do some crunches or push ups or leg raises, etc. 800g is great!!
Kawazuki- Good job on limiting your snacking. I am a big snacker but am now having healthier snacks instead.
Eluned- Hope you find your motivation soon hun. I went off the radar for a little while but then found it again. Its also very hard when you have a sore pelvis so dont be too hard on yourself
-
Have always had wholemeal bread but i LOVE bread and really need to cut out a fair chunk of it so figured why not try something else, am in the middle of eating a wholemeal lavish bread with cheese, carrot, cucumber, spinach and roast pork (from the deli) have had dried apple as a snack and had a Banana and wholemeal crumpet for breakfast!n!
I haev some frozen berries in the freezer so was thinking later on i might have a yoghurt and berry smoothy!
-
Bella: Thanks for the extra motivation, lol! :) We can get there. I think I should be able to get there in about 2 weeks.
Just did a big walk with some other mums... then had a small chai latte afterwards - hopefully that didn't undo all my good work.
So far so good this week!
-
Hi BellaB - yum, I might do that next time, adding meat. I can't drink diet soft drinks so if I want one I have to have the normal stuff - I have a wheat intolerance so not only do I have to have rice pasta and make my own bread (or buy the spelt flour stuff) but sugar free softdrinks affect my tummy as well. Apparently most people who have intolerances to foods should avoid diet drinks and some other diet things like cordial, sugar free lollies etc - there's something in that fake stuff that my intestines can't break down so it makes me very sick - like having gastro if I eat wheat or diet drinks. Low fat yoghurt is fine but I only like the plain yoghurt anyway, the flavoured ones are too sweet. Anyway diet coke etc is soooo bad for you, you're actually better off drinking the full sugar stuff and burning it off with exercise. I read a fair bit about that aspartum (sp?) that's found in those diet drinks and what it does to your body and it wasn't good so it put me off anyway! lol - it is good for losing weight though, when I did Weight Watchers I loved Diet Coke as it was 0 points! hee hee
-
Hi Girls,
I thought I'd chime in with my food changes :)
We pretty much always have wholemeal in the house. I've started swapping the bread on my sandwiches for mountain bread wraps. They also work well as tortillas for enchiladas. Anywhere that I can squeeze beans in to a dish for extra fibre, I do. Kidney beans, chick peas, lentils, you name it! We used to eat twice as much meat in a serve, now I've halved the meat and make up the rest with extra veggies. The new Philly 60% less fat cream works well in curries. I've cut out all fizzy drink except soda water and use only skim milk.
Off to do the weekly groceries tomorrow. Will have to grab some Velish soups for the pantry when I can't work out what to have for lunch.
To be honest, I think my main problem wasn't really what I was eating it was how much.
-
lol Alison - even though I know how bad diet coke is, I cannot give it up. We've switched to caffeine free version though...and man I've had a headache. I've also switched (thanks Bella) to green tea again.
Yeah Suz, same as you it's not really my choices that are terrible, it's the size of the portions and the lack of exercise. We eat a lot of veges I've discovered. We have two vege nights every week (much to DH's disgust). We did eat a lot of chocolate though and have cut that right out along with crappy desserts.
I'm not a huge bread eater so that's not the culprit, but I am a bit partial to wraps for lunch.
For me it was a definite lack of exercise, and now I do try to some most days.
Last night DH who has had a really stressful week (so you can imagine my week ) wanted pizza. I told him OK as long as we went for a walk first. Well the walk got extended because we walked right past a drug deal and didn't want to have to explain to DD so had to walk the long way home. Then I didn't feel so bad about the pizza for dinner.
However, saying all that, I am definitly having a very over it day. I'm sick of counting calories, I'd love to eat just what I wanted, and I can't be arsed doing any exercise at all.
I know it will get better and weigh-in is only 2 days away but.....baaahhh over it.
-
I am still here ladies, just having lots of sleep trouble with the little man :( i haven't hardly lost anything!!! 58 kilos now so only lost 2 kilos.
-
Kim:  It's hard isn't it. I know what you mean about just wanting to eat whatever you want - I've been feeling like that a lot recently. I find that exercise is the best thing though - when I'm wanting something I shouldn't, once I've done some exercise I find I don't crave it as much. I'm glad I can go to gym, cause it means I can vary my exercise a lot - swimming, gym equipment, classes, and then walking.
GabberQueen: Sorry to hear about sleep troubles - I know exactly what you mean! 58kg! I'd love to be that, lol.
AFM: I've been average with my food lately. Not bad, but not great. I'm not eating enough fruit and vegies, and I've been snacking on Malt biscuits a lot. No full-on junk food though. Exercise is still going well. I went to gym Monday and Tuesday night, went for a walk with a pram walking group on Wednesday, went to a class Thursday morning and gym Thursday night. Tomorrow I'm planning on a big gym session too - so for exercise I'm pretty good. I think I'll have had a loss this week - I hope it's a decent one!
Sorry no other personals, can only see this page.
Good luck everyone!
-
Thanks Sterla. Wow you sound so positive, and your exercise is excellent. Can't wait to move somewhere permanent and find a gym.
Well I found my mojo again...in one of the oddest places. Cos of the weightloss my cossie is all saggy and gross. So I bought another one. Just a cheapy off eBay from China. Well, it arrived today and it looks pretty good :o ...even if I do say so myself... I was so surprised cos who like trying on cossies, but I actually felt good in it. I even wore it down to the pool (yes it's still that warm here) with Darc - lol but it was too cold to get it wet. And I took off my towel to chase Nate.
So I have renewed my vigour and will be back on the wagon tomorrow. Hoping my little binge today didn't have too much impact. i was actually a bit cranky about what I had eaten after I felt so good, so I will hang onto that.
ETA, I don't actually actually know how much I've lost. Wii only gives you what you've lost or gained not your actual weight - you have to look for that...must do that tomorrow.
