Couldn't reply with the quote, but Mummy Naomi, your post with today's photos brought back lovely memories of my childhood too. I had a special blanket when i was sick at home and all bundled up listening to (shuffles from foot to foot) Patsy Bisco records!
Will try and catch up before we go away, we might be going camping.. went fishing today and got pics of DD1 and her first fish :)

Oh, a new thread. I've got a lot to catch up on. I haven't been around much lately, and haven't really even had the computer on at all. I've been taking photos each day though, some really boring and crud but a photo is a photo. :p
I'll try and upload some photos later. I've got a really really cranky cheeky chops this afternoon.

I have been dealing with some stuff and have not taken photos :( I am so sad.....will have to try and get my butt into gear and get them going again!

I've been a bit slack too.,, lots of 'stuff' to do which is filling up way too much time. PLUS I stupidly mucked up my DSLR. There was a black fleck on all my photos so I tried to clean it from the sensor with my lens cloth. Very idiotic idea coz it now has smudges all over it. I need to tale it to the shop again, but it's so expensive to get it cleaned. I'm so cross with myself it's killed my motivation a bit :(

Slack here too - been shooting (to retain sanity thanks to sleep deprivation from two children who tag team All. Fricking. Night), but not posting or commenting much. Last few days I've been quite pleased with my shots - pretty roses and a lily-ish thing that both came up very nicely in both abstract and conventional shots. Really happy with the three roses shots in particular.

Am still uploading but haven't had much time to post. DH is fiiiiiinnally getting better from the vertigo (yeah that was a fun 3 mths) but has now done his back. No rest for the wicked :wall: ah well at least it doesn't take much time to take pics! Just want more time to post & comment!!! (a 36 hour day anyone? Sounds good to me!)

I totally tried to get a good shot of the moon the other night. I failed so bad. Is there anything special I can do to make photos of the moon or whatever better?

Jewel, with the moon shot, what was the problem with the photos you took? i can't remember whether you use a DSLR or not? I know the first time i tried it I used too long a shutter speed and when I started taking photos the other night too short a shutter speed... i think with the shot I eventually settled on I used a 1/30 shutter speed with ISO100 and f/4.5. I should really have used a tripod, but I was being lazy :) When my moon shot went wrong last time I went on 365, found a few moon shots I liked and looked at their exif info to see where I was going wrong.
I've had a terrible camera day today. i took my camera into the shop to get the sensor cleaned and it turns out that the little black square I keep seeing is actually trapped between the sensor and the sensor protector, so they've had to send it to canon and it's going to cost me a fair bit more than I first thought. They had no idea how it could've got in there and neither do I. I'm not a happy bunny :(
I saw this thread this morning and went and looked at the website - what an awesome idea! I have never hears of this before - it's great timing for me too lol because I've just been obsessed with photography the last month or so and have been wondering what I can do with the photos I love.
Do you ladies make scrapbooks or something with the photos you take as well? Or just have a bunch of photos on your computer like I do? Lol

At the moment i have a pile of photos on my computer, but my friend who is also doing the 365 (Elibank) has had a photobook printed of each month, which i think is a great idea that I'm going to copy :D
I want to do a photobook too. I think MN is doing one for the year - I daydream about doing that too!

It's like I couldn't get the picture clear enough. Some of them looked as though they were almost the sun cause the moon was so bright. lol Not sure if that was my fault or what. I didn't have the patience really either and since then it's been raining and cloudy so I haven't had the chance to try again.Thank you for answering my questions. I might search around the place. Just got my confirmation email for my Angie Baxter Photo course on Sunday - cant wait!
We are in Perth - haven't done much sight seeing yet, just hanging around my brothers house, but will get some nice pics this week! The early mornings are killing me as DS is still waking up on Adelaide time (which is 2.5 hours ahead) - 3am wake up yesterday, 430am today - eeeek, not good!
Re shooting the moon - THIS might help :)
I uploaded my first photo yesterday - I have no idea if it's any good or now though lol - I am looking forward to seeing my skills improve over the year though!

A photo book sounds great - I think I'll have to get a bit more confidence before I plan a project of my own!

Someone was sayign this a little while ago, but gosh it's definitely quietened down on 365 now. I'm noticing not nearly as many comments on pics... I guess we all get so excited initially but then life interferes (pesky stuff that life) and we all get too busy. I say good on us all for sticking with it thus far! :clap: what a fab effort.

Will filter through other pics over the last hectic couple of weeks and fill in the blanks and try and keep on track.
DP should be getting a boot today instead of crutches so i wont be chasing around after 3 children, he might actually be able to get himself drinks and things :dance:

Thanks for the following guys - I'm really enjoying it! But wouldn't you know it.. Uploaded the photos from my camera last night and something happened to my sd card - now it won't work in my camera or even format? Luckily I emptied it first - does anyone know what happened? - I've had this camera (just a little point and shoot) for 18 months and it's never done this before.

Ash, did you take the memory card out of the camera to download the pictures? Sometimes that can cause a problem - it can stuff up the format.
That's exactly what I did swoop! - then the camera asked me if it could format the card so I said yes and it sat there thinking for 20 minutes and told me the format couldn't happen - but it wont do anything until I format the card?
I'm just going to go and buy a new card today ;-) that way if the other comes good I'll have a spare lol
I'm sure that's why it's happened. I have no idea how to re-format it though... Maybe pop into a camera shop or do a google search as it may be quite self explanatory. Do you have a cable that you can use for future downloads? If not I would definitely invest in one!

I am so inspired and have been using my camera in full manual all day - LOVE it!! I feel like I am now USING my camera :)
