I have just come across a beautiful little girl her name is spelt (le-ah) okay so looks like leah not that bad, but the parents pronounce it le-dash-ah and get angry when people say it wrong!!!!!!!:wall: REALLY, my name is now mary:) and will be pronounced marysmileyface!!!

That is just mean to the child. I would have assumed it was Leah, with an odd spelling
thats exactly what I did, it was followed by a 3min lecture on how to say the name, and ranting about how no-one ever gets it right. Oh i wonder why???:
I work in mid and some of the names/spellings are just down right wrong. You wonder if the parents actually sit back and consider the impact on their childs life?
Maybe you need to tell them it's actually a hyphen so her name should be lehyphena.

Utterly ridiculous!! Spell it Ledasha for goodness sake, it looks and sounds nice. Le-ah is just beyond silly.
Really - aside from the fact that it looks like text speak and people will make assumptions just from that about the child - CRATE - what sort of name is Crate? Is there a family preference for storage containers when naming their children? Is there a little Zplkbggi on the cards perhaps?:
