Tinks - I suspect he didn't let people call him Drew ;)
meow - not sure what being a religious school or not would have to do with it? I would have thought it was common knowledge that the names mean the same things?
Another - I know a lady who was considering naming twin girls Melody and Harmony... not sure what she ended up deciding...
When my sister was born in 1976, my mum couldn't understand why my dad was laughing hysterically whenever the people in the ward called their daughter Ophelia. It wasn't until after mum was discharged that dad told her that the family name was D.ckie.
Ophelia D.ickie is just mean.
Had a person on payroll called Gay Panting . . . plus one of the bigwigs where my sister works is called Richard Seaman
I saw a woman who's surname was Topless
Theres a silly baby brand suggestion post I keep getting on fb, all about unique names. Oh dear.
One of them says 'My daughter's name is Sarah but spelled Srruh for something a little different' huh?
Another one named their daughter trishelle.
With almost 6000 responses there are some interesting names in there.
Can anyone guess how Kviiilyn is pronounced? Hint, it's a common girls name.
Caitlin? With the viii representing 8 in Roman numerals?
Odd...
Spot on! ! I'm impressed, it took me ages to work it out.
Caitlin? :shakehead:
Really? That's just a painful lifetime of explaining for that child!
Poor child! Why would you use Roman numerals in a name?
Woah. That's bad. Just... Wow.
far out!!! do you know the people that used it like that?
I have one, I'm marrying a couple and their daughters name is K L I (the spaces are to stop it being googlable ;) ) put all 3 letters together.
So give it your best shot...
Oh no... Kelly? Kay-el-eye? Kay-el-ee?
Kayleigh...
Lets hope when she is older she changes it to a correct spelling.
And another my friend told me about when she was teaching.
Mahcial
marshall??
Man K L I bad!
Marshall, spelt Mahcial because he was special (hence the cial ending)
oh dear.
And that spelling makes the boy sound special for other reasons, I'm sure not the special reasons his parents used to inspire that spelling. I really feel for some of these kids, it's really not fair on them at all
Mum says there was a lady in the hospital when she had me who had children named Pear and Apple, with the surname Tree. A teacher I know taught a family of kids named 1, 2, 3 up to 8. And, I heard about a friend of a friend named Cara, with the surname V an D oore. Everyone called her 'carra'. And my best friend's mum turned down a marriage proposal from her boyfriend Mr Banks, because her name was Robyn. ;)
ROFL! a dash is not part of the alphabet, it is not a letter :wall:
And it's not even 'dash', it's 'hyphen'! :P
I just saw a pic where someone named their twins Summer and Autumn. Nice names on their own but a little mean putting them together!
But I personally know people with a kid called Chaos. I just wonder, as he grows up, what if he has a really important job? Would people take him seriously?
I actually love different spellings - to an extent, some of these are just strange and I feel bad for the children when they are older, I thought my own name Kar rine (space so not googled is bad) was hard to explain.
using - and expecting it to be pronounced surely wouldn't be able to be registered?
When in hospital when i had dd 2.5weeks ago, the couple sharing the room had named their baby boy Cage
Got a good one
M A I C C Y N E
It's a boy name
Much more commonly spelt Mason.
Wow, that's one interesting spelling, Little Chicken! Reminds me of a phonics game I used to play with my students where I'd break words into their sounds and then replace each sound with a different letter combination and the students had to figure out the spelling word! Eg f r o g would become ph rr o gg :)
A little girl was named Bel'Air just last week. WHY?!
My friend had a child in her kinder called
La-la
How would you pronounce that one?
As in singing, or Layla?!
Bel'Air just makes me want to sing The Fresh Prince theme song ;)

Ladashla?
Sorry but isn't anyone going to comment on the baby called cage? Cage? As in baby cage? So wrong.
If only cage was the worst name I have seen.
Try Bee-Jay, Cee-Jae, and Junior.
A friend on my FB posted a recent find the other day.... Maiccyne.
