So yeah. What are you up to?
DH and I are prob staying in. Too hard with the kids to drag them somewhere, can't be bothered having a thing at our house as most of our friends are in the same boat with little ones.
We'll get a bottle of my fave bubbly, put on a movie, then watch the countdown. Or go to bed. Whatever ;)
What are you doing?
Similar issue. We are going to a friends from mothers group who is having another 3 families over. We are having an early BBQ then will likely head home when the toddler gets feral. My little one is having a sleep over at PIL place so the opportunity for an early night is very tempting. I'm willing to bet a million dollars I'll be sound asleep by 10 pm! Party on!
Might take the boys to watch the fireworks or I might give it a miss.
Watch some tv, tidy up a bit, go to bed.
Probably be in bed by midnight :p
Girls to bed around 7.30 pm. DH and I will watch a couple more episodes of The West Wing (on the last series now). Into bed by 10pm. He'll be snoring within 3 minutes and me probably not long after. There are going to be fireworks just down the road so I may stir slightly in my sleep at midnight ;)
An alternate hospital route just in case but other than that, a normal quiet night in :)
well at this stage Im taking the girls up to the fly to watch the fireworks over the gong. I am hoping that dh will be able to come with us, but I doubt it. And thats if I can be bothered, at this stage Im not so sure I will be able to last til 9:30 for the fireworks, an early night actually sounds good!
Last minute trip to ocean grove, close friends of ours are there with their LO, so we're taking the girls to the beach ;)

Going to a friends place, there will be about 20 of us there. And then staying the night there so we can both drink! :)
Nothing. Staying in. DH was out all of last NYE putting out fires from illegal fireworks, so we'll be enjoying spending it together at home.

get a bottle of bubbles, maybe 2, watch the fireworks on tv and stuff from all over the world. The LOs can stay up with me and watch the tv. Chinese new year is about a month away so we'll head out then
We are heading to a friends place around the corner. They have a pool & are cooking up a Mexican feast!!
I'll most likely have flaked it by Midnight but am looking forward to the earlier festivities :lol:
I just saw a Sex and the City marathon ad for New Years Eve - so my night is now complete.
DH and I are taking the girls for a swim and play at southbank, then a picnic and the 8.30 fireworks :) hopefully home and girls in bed by 10!
DH is working 250km away, all my friends are away on hols, so this very pregnant chick will probably be in bed before the fireworks even start....
we're undecided ... there are a few different options with different groups of friends, but nothing has really jumped out at us yet, and DS is too little to appreciate going to the river or lake for fireworks, etc....
normally we host a big party, but surprisingly enough I'm not up for hosting 50+ of our nearest and dearest buddies this year!
I'm tempted to go to the closest (distance-wise) friends' one (5 mins away) so we can pack up DS and leave when he gets overtired ... but it's also a little tempting to have a party/event free NYE in for the first time since circa 1994 ...
Drinking REAL absinthe. Playing singstar. Eating 12 grapes at midnight. Having an awesome night, and saying GOOD BYE and GOOD RIDDANCE to the crap year that has been 2011.

i will take bilby and myself to my auntie's house to sleep, so we don't have to be in our neighbourhood on NYE (too unsafe). My aunt will be out, so i might do some craft or watch the fireworks over Sydney Harbour on tv at midnight, bilby goes to bed pretty early.
my DH is working his coffee/slushie van at Birrarung Marr so its just me and the kids! I hate going out on NYE so just a quiet one with some take away for me and the kids. btw anyone going into the city- go check out my DH's van! Its bright purple so you cant miss it! He is selling all natural slushies, healthy wraps, fruit salad and smoothies and of course coffee/tea/hot choc etc. its gonna be a biggie
No plans for us. We aren't fans of heading into the city and dd is frightened of fireworks
I put out a call for a Hawaiian party at our place but all our friends have plans/kids so looks like it will just be DH, BIL and I! Planning on cracking my bottle of Moet, getting loads of seafood and probably crashing before 12!!
Camping down at southend near robe on the sa coast with 4 other families. Should be fun!
Lol DH brought a bottle of that for new year but I think it's the fake version.:
We are child free as its ex year for new years so we are headed to SIL house for a pool party and crashing there for the night.

probably nothing much! at a stretch i may be able to make it to midnight but probably not :lol: maybe next year we'll do something!
I doubt I'll make it to midnight. DH is on standby and it's going to 40C over the weekend so there's a very high possibility that he'll be at a bushfire instead of being home. (He's such a hero)
Last year DD was in RCH and DH and I went down and sat in a little park in North Melbourne and watched the fireworks. It was awesome.
After two invites to somewhere else, and one effectively rescinded (because calls for more details have gone unanswered and through a 3rd party we hear there are some major family problems that have overtaken the invite!), we are staying at the farm again - perfect! Same company as last year (mutual friend of same people of rescinded invite, as last year's NYE by same people got too complicated), so we're gonna have a great night, kids will crash eventually (the DS's will probably want to both sleep in the caravan, so I'd better give that a clean out) and we'll drink gently, talk silly and watch the glow of the fireworks from behind our hills, as we nestle in along the creek in our valley and hope the horses don't mind fireworks (my horse wasn't living here last year and I don't think he had to endure them so close where I used to keep him!), even if it is just a glow...
Planning a gourmet brekky on New Years Day, then a meander down to Kongwak Market and we'll see how brave we are to head into Inverloch with the holiday crowd...though if we head into Invy early for a morning surf we can spend the rest of the morning at Kongwak and retire to the farm again!
I'm looking forward to low-key, low-hassle and low maintenance company :) (the people who are responsible for the rescinded invite also provided us with one of the best NYE we've ever had two years ago, also low key but fantastic food and company...I believed it to be a one off at the time and DP didn't...I hate being right about it :( )
I'm down at a holiday unit down the beach, just my lads and I. We'll be going to the beach carnival between 5-9 and then heading home to bed. I don't think I'll make midnight.
2011 can bugger off. It's been one of the worst years of my life.
The boys and I will probably go to our friends place for a BBQ. I doubt I will make midnight though. :p
Now I'm wondering if we should take the kids for fireworks somewhere... But it's going to be blooming hot in Melb, right?

For the past 5 years i've either been pregnant or breastfeeding (still breastfeeding now) so our new years have very uneventful. In bed before midnight most years i think. This year we are getting together with friends but the logistics of sleeping 3 children somewhere and where we will sleep is all a bit of a pain in the backside. So much easier to just say we'll stay home again. I'll enjoy my 1 drink of the night once DD is down and then watch everyone else have fun.
Maybe i could sneak away somewhere and watch the sex and the city marathon.... :think:
Working an early shift then to friends for a BBQ at sandhurst, most likely be home before midnight and put kids to bed then watch fireworks on TV or stand out front and watch bits of fireworks from city.
As this is our last one childless, we are off to a party at my brothers. Starting with a BBQ and then everyone else can drink and me and the other PG girl will probably fall asleep on the couch. DH can wake me up when he is ready to go home. Best of both world for us both. He can enjoy a few bevvies and I can guiltfree fall asleep cause its family hehe.
We are doing a camel ride around uluru to watch the sunset, then camping out on a sandune with some alcohol free bubbly and nibbles and watching the early fireworks over the rock which will be amazing.
Chilled and relaxed and very country (where else can you wear a cowboy hat on New years eve and be perfectly in fashion?)
