Hi! Nice to meet late December 2010 people! (Hope no-one minds that I'm actually a November 2010 person who stayed with her Belly Buddies group!!)

Millie said "Please" (actually more "pease") today - I melted :) She wanted more apple! She's had a terrible case of the runs since Friday afternoon - she's still eating a bit and drinking enough, but sheesh, poor kid. She will say "bum" or "poo" when she needs to be changed, not like we can't smell it anyway :(

We have MAMA! Wahoooooooo! :leap: It's her 15th word, about bloody time!

Also, if you ask her who should be the next mayor (election on soon) she says "Mum"! :rofl:

Audax - Hahaha, well then, may I wish you good luck in the upcoming election ;) Yay for Mama!! Well worth the wait I'm sure :)

Things have been hectic around here, Jacob has been cutting eye teeth and molars (I have no idea how many teeth he has now, I have lost count!) and then he got sick. I had the ambulance here twice in a matter of a week... if I didn't live so far away from the hospital I would have just taken him to emergency but DH was at work so I had the ambo come here and examine him. He seems to be somewhat better now thankfully! He's hilarious, he LOVES the wiggles, he actually brings me the tv remote and says "wiggle wiggle wiggle".....something tells me we do too much driving (every time we go on a trip he has the wiggles on his dvd player). It's very cute though, I'm so addicted to his little voice :) It's taught him a lot of dance moves, including how to spin around, the 'emu' and the moves to 'one finger one thumb' :lol: Oh and he also loves to draw now! How clever are our little babies :)

Miri loves drawing... usually on herself. And dancing. On her knees, as she still can't walk, though. She's talking lots too. It's amazing - very different to DS.

Audax - now all you'll hear is maaaaaaaam. MAAAAAAAAM. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMM. ;)

Too much is relative Jules - it's a necessity where you guys live! Hope Jacob Jive Bunny is OK.

MB - How funny that Miri dances on her knees!

Someone discovered where the chocky bickies are today, and sat at the foot of the pantry yelling and grunting in the hopes that one would materialise. She eventually settled for some croutons from the bottom shelf. She got a toy pram while the ILs were here - normally I hate that sort of thing but she was just so pleased with herself when she found it in Myer. She takes it to the supermarket and puts things in the basket. Random things, like tissue boxes (she's never seen a tissue in her life) and mushrooms and cans of asparagus.

Thanks for the concern girls, we are both ok, just really tired. Sleep has never been great but it hasn't been at its version of best in a while. He was running temps of 39.2. Threw up a few times, had a cough etc. had his antibiotics and then the repeat and still wasn't better.. He a lot healthier now, just a runny nose. Wakes up crying still but I think that's teeth again...

MadB - how cute are dancing babies :) :lol: to drawing on herself... She's the artist AND the model :) that's great she's talking so much! Most girls this age I know are real little chatterboxes!! Very cute.

Audax -:lol: to your little shopper!! I bet the other shoppers LOVED it! Haha. She's such a character :)

Hey Other-December-People (even tho no-one 'new' has popped in yet)

Gah, never moving again. I'm over it and I'm finding more and more boxes!! I've lost alot of things, hoping they are just buried under other boxes.
Hannah's room is all done, so that's a miracle.
She's been really hard lately. Eye tooth, molar, and a bottom pointy tooth. So many teeth.
No new words lately, just alot of talking on the phone "Yeah.... Yeah.... Who is it? Yeah... Oh yeah, baby"... No idea who she is talking to, but it's hilarious. If she can't find her phone she'll just use her hand.
I only ever get 'mum' if she smells. So sad. She'll just start yelling "Mum mum mum mum'. "Do you stink Hannah?" "Yeah. Sing-sy" (stinky)

Thinking of which, she's sitting on her couch saying "sing-sy'' now. Dammit.

I'm very impressed that she can say Stinky :)

Went to physio today and she reckons Miri might be walking by 18 months :) She's making lots of progress anyway

Audax, how'd you go in the election? :rofl:

All good here, knock on wood but Millie has been really well since that gastro a couple of weeks ago, not a sniffle in sight (knocking on wood so hard right now) and she seems to be coping with the change in the weather really well, lung-wise. I'm giving her a couple more weeks on 2 puffs of flixotide a day, then I'll drop the morning dose and see how she goes. She's pretty good about taking it, although the assortment of stuffed animals sometimes have to have it too... then they all have to have a drink of water before she does as well...

Words are just tumbling out of her now, bubbles, plane, moon, star etc. She says please without being prompted sometimes, and is stringing things together, like "up please" and "Mummy finished".

PP: Sounds like Millie's words are awesome!! Trying to get Hannah to say 'please' but it just doesn't happen. She'd rather just groan. :)

Hannah came into the lounge last night and flopped on her little couch and sighed. DH and I were discussing that it was bedtime for her and when she just sat on her couch I asked her "Are you tired, Hannah?" And got told "Yes." "Would you like to go nigh-nighs?" "Yes" and she stood up and followed me into the bedroom.
It was so clever, but then I felt so guilty. How long had she been wanting to go to bed?? :)
She only slept til 1am and then was wide awake til 2.30. Not fun.
Her new thing when someone, or her, sneezes she says "At-tyoo". It's very cute.

My little man is starting to become a little pain, waking up in the middle of the night and refusing to go back to sleep...... ARRGGG... My poor hubby he has to get up at 5.30 to get ready for work....

Had my second GD test the other day, test came back fine NO GD which is good, I have 6 weeks to go this tuesday been booked in for my c - section for the 19th of June. We are all soooooo excited, I'm still having dreams that we have a little girl I know we are having a boy but I wonder why I keep having these dreams. Anyway hope everyone is well

Cathie, great news about no GD and an end date for you! Dreams are funny, I had such a vivid boy dream the other night that I would be genuinely surprised (but not at all disappointed!) if we had a little girl this time. Sorry to hear Charlie is turning into a night time party animal on you - is it the weather? Millie was waking but we realised she was cold so have made sure she's warmer at night. Still parties at times though :)

Char, it is awesome when they start to communicate like that :)

I jinxed myself a little with my last post - Millie has had a horrible runny nose since about Thursday, but so have I, and (again, knock on wood) that is as far as it has gone. She had a bit of a feral day yesterday, which I'm clocking up to teeth, but was back to her sunny self today. She pointed to my iPod and rocked out for a bit when I put it on - she loves to dance :)

I just asked DH to make me a hot lemon and honey drink - I had to give very specific instructions, but he brought it out with a little slice of lemon floating in it. What a gem! I was so touched and he was sooooooo proud of himself :)

Miri's 4th molar popped through last week. thought we might get a break... but no... then today realised, that yup, there's her first eye tooth bulging. sigh. At one-month per tooth (if I'm lucky) then same again for the 2 year old molars, maybe we'll be done by the time she's 2....? (probably overly optimistic)

Go Mr Pixie! He should be proud of himself.

Welll, it's 3.03am. DH is playing the playstation, Hannah is watching and I'm doing... stuff. Poor munchkin slept 12 hours, then basically all day, and she's been up from just after 1am. She's been burning hot all day, barely ate but had a few bottles.
She's still hot and layed in our bed from 1.30 to 2.20 and cried and sweated in my arms. Sounds weird, but she smelt like wet cat.... She ended up getting so upset (DH and I couldn't calm her down) that she vomitted.
But it's OK... It was only on me :rolleyes:

Gave her a small bottle to settle her and she wouldn't go back to sleep so we decided to get up. I was hungry anyway (surprise, surprise) and we were wide awake.
I made Hannah a weetbix (as I was making myself some) she happily ate most of it before vomitting it all back up again.

Then, in a huge cuteness moment, she vomitted just a bit more and said "Done".
How can I be mad at that??

So, it's party time in the Charlotte91 household.
Off to make myself a hot drink. Gonna be a LONG night.

Oh Char... I feel for you but couldn't help but laugh about the final spew :lol: Millie chucked a bit the other day and I (stupidly) caught it fairly neatly in my hand. For someone who has always been a sympathetic vomiter, I dealt with it remarkably calmly! DH was flapping around a bit looking for towels so I directed traffic while Millie sat there watching the show.

Seriously, I hope Hannah recovers soon and you guys get some sleep tonight.

So MadB, how many teeth does Miri have now? I'm not sure where Millie is "supposed" to be up to - she has the four top front, top two molars, and just the bottom front two with the bottom molars bulging like crazy. It seems like she has been teething on and off all year with only the two molars to show for it. She's really good about brushing, though, which is awesome.

One of my mothers' group friends is booked in for a c-section tomorrow - can't wait to hear her news :) Hooray for babies!

Sickling here too. Not sure what yet, but she's clingy and fragile and sleepy and sucky.

Only 6 teeth here, four top, two bottom. Haven't had a new one for ages. Looking forward to that! Not.

We took her to a palm nursery yesterday, saw a green tree frog on a palm, and some butterflies, which she's mad about. But the highlight of the day was the mini golf. She had her little plastic clubs, and would hit the ball once, then pick it up and put it in the hole. So funny!

Well ladies,

My Little man was up 7 times last night and he cried off and on from 5.00am to 6.30am, I just sit near the door let him cry for a few seconds go in and lay him back down I don't talk to him nothing.......... check list 1. He is rugged up so not cold maybe too hot don't know 2. teething could be can't see any teeth but as we all know they can sit there for ages. 3. Just wants his mummy, great can you just want mum during the day not a night.... I'm getting a little worried as we will have a new born in our house in 6 weeks and I've got Charlie up 7 times during the night....... Do you ladies have any ideas on what I can do?

Oh Cathie I have no wisdom for you, sorry. Last time we had a night like that was when Millie had gastro, but it was obvious why she was up - the STENCH told us loud and clear :( D'you reckon he can sense that the new arrival is near? I'm really curious about that because Millie has been much more attached to Daddy in the past couple of months but is starting to ask for me more again. I hope someone has ideas for you xox

I have had to change things up a bit for Millie of an evening - we were eating dinner at 6pm when DH came home from work, and on work nights I was picking Millie up from daycare on the way to pick DH up from the station - time wise it worked quite well but now that it's dark and cold and Millie is generally worn out and hungry... so our supposedly lovely family meal time was very stressful - I was battling to get food on the table, DH was battling to get Millie to eat (who was starving but too tired to cope)... shambles. Especially as she's becoming more independent and wanting to use her spoon or fork, but getting unco as she was so tired... Last night was a real mess, she barely ate anything, and of course was starving at 4am. So today I picked her up early, gave her dinner early, she had some apple while DH and I ate our dinner, and we had a relaxed bath/book time then she went to bed happily. I'm really pleased to have made the change, it has made a difference tonight - we'll see how it continues.

Oh, cool news from daycare today - Millie's carer told me when I picked her up, "Oh, if she does this (made the baby sign for drink), it means drink." "I know, we're teaching her baby sign." "Really, we thought Erin had taught her that!" (little girl in the same room - they are around the same age and sort of hang out together.) "Does Erin do baby sign too?" "Erin is profoundly deaf!" Erin had signed to Millie that she wanted a drink, and Millie went to her carer, who was with another kid, and said, "Jess, Erin drink!" How awesome is that?! I'm chuffed that she's using it to communicate outside home, and that she was able to help her friend!

My kids eat dinner at 4:30 - they're just too tired after that.

Miri always wakes up at least that often - bloody teeth - but she's in bed with me so at least I'm not actually getting up. makes it slightly easier. my MIL is coming to stay for a month next week. lots of morning sleep ins for me! (I hope!)

She has 12 teeth and no. 13 is pushing it's way through now. so 3 more eye teeth, then the 2-yr old molars to go. sigh. She just takes foreeeeeever to teeth.

Does she have a good swinging action Audax?

I had to tell DH about Millie's signing. He thought it was really cute and clever. :)

Hannah is getting better after her upper respiratory infection. She ate plenty yesterday and won't eat today. Seems to be how it goes. Eats like a sumo and then nothing the next day. Very frustrating!
The switch to Oat Milk is going well, it's hasn't upset her tummy at all and she loves it. We usually go 50/50 with formula. Seeing her surgeon in a month and we'll see what he says.

She's been sleeping all night, which is great for me! I go to bed at 9 and don't move until 7. Still feel exhausted, tho! 7 weeks to go....

I can nearly get all Hannah's hair into a single ponytail which is great! She gets so mad at her hair and slaps her face if it keeps getting into her eyes. She's really terrible at throwing tantrums over nothing lately. Like, she couldn't move the couch. Yes, the couch. A 3 seater sofa bed. DH can't even move the thing by himself, let alone Hannah.
My, my, there was one hell of a show. Screaming, throwing herself on the ground and then biting the couch for good measure.

Putting it down to her being sick, but it's very frustrating.

MadB, is #13 through yet? We're up to 10 now after the weekend!

Char, so glad Hannah is better and sleeping well for you. Awesome that you can get all her hair out of her eyes, it's an ongoing saga with Millie. We try to keep it swept to the side as she pretty much refuses to let us put it up. It's so fine it takes ages and is probably pretty painful for her. Once it's a bit longer it should be easier. Tempted to cut her a fringe, but I went through early childhood with homemade bowl cuts so would rather not inflict the same on my child :)

Well we've had a heck of a weekend. Millie got a mozzie bite on her finger at daycare on Thursday, it progressively swelled down her hand over the course of Friday, to the point she couldn't sleep on Friday night. In spite of antihistamine. Saturday she had a huge day (we all did) - I hosted a Tupperware party (WHAT was I thinking?! it was kinda fun though :)) so there were various kids of all ages to play with. God bless DH, who ran a fantastic Daddy Daycare - I was so proud of him! Millie also cut her bottom molars. Anyway, she refused to eat dinner, took forever to get to bed in that "I'm overtired but will throw myself around dangerously in the hope that you'll think I'm actually fine to stay up a few more hours" way, but then slept. Yesterday was big again - out to DH's parents' place, which was nice, but I'll be damned if my FIL didn't take Millie out for a walk in the freezing cold wind. Her put her hoodie on, but hey, the kid has had a cough and cold for a week... FIL loves her to bits but I wish he'd check before taking her out. He's German so if it's not snowing out he wouldn't even bother with a jacket. Grr. Got her home, she did the huge performance again, and was up til about 11. Exhausting. When she's like that the best thing I have ever done is just rug up with her in her chair and rock her till she goes to sleep... but now I have this bump she doesn't snuggle as comfortably so won't settle with me, and DH always wants to try other things with her... *sigh* Anyway, saw the GP this morning - viral throat infection but her chest is clear, which is always our main worry. She's finicky with food but will still drink her water.

Other than that I had a beautiful mothers' day. DH went out and got me hotcakes at Maccas (he doesn't cook, so this was his way of making sure I got something more special than toast without having to make it myself :)), and he gave me a ring sling!!! I LOOOOVE it and he picked such a beautiful, vibrant one. Wore Millie in the supermarket this morning and it felt great - she was happy and settled and I wasn't faffing about with the stroller!

Char, that's really normal toddler eating. I've often heard it recommended that you look at 48hour intake, rather than 24.
And Oh the tantrums! Nellie refused to take her brand new cat pajamas off today, that was one. I wouldn't let her force fee me a sixth date, that was another. Pretty cute, but I do feel for her. Awesome news on the ponytail! We just have an ungodly mullet here, with the occasional dreadlock. No clips allowed.

yeah, they have eating days and non-eating days. diet-wise, it's good to look at the whole week for a balanced diet, as they also have fruit days and grain days, etc. :)

sadly we're moving into cold & flu season - my two have colds. nothing serious.... yet. for mother's day I got my worst.night.ever. lol. should have expected that (my first mother's day I got mastitis :lol:) but on the upside, I also still have my lovely children and family. we went away for the weekend with my parents. had a lovely time.

I used to wonder about parents who said their babies & young toddlers had tantrums. :redface: silly me. miri does them and has done for more than 6 months - i was really surprised because DS didn't do that till he was 3 or so. But maybe he's the strange one? She screamed for 10 minutes today when I wouldn't let her go outside in the mud. if she could walk I'm sure she'd stamp her feet too.

Charlotte - Charlie eats and eats some days and others he won't, the days he dosen't eat he is harder to put to bed. Well we are having our night sleeps again heaven knows what the problem was........ It's very cute when you can start putting girls hair up.... I love doing my girls hair. Charlie has just started having a tanti it is very cute he throws himself on the floor and cries.

MadB - All my kids have colds at the moment and so do I.... hate having a cold when preggo..... Where did you go away to for mother's day?

AFM - The count down has begun 5 weeks tomorrow - I'm really worried about my Hubby when I go inot hospital to have our bubba, I just don't know how he is going to go with 6 kids. I have decided to arrange dinner for them the week before and the kids school clothes .....
Charlie is fine, as I mentioned before he is back to sleeping all night and he is getting so cheeky.

Hi cathie! Feeling a bit rubbish, to be honest - just bloated and spewy and gassy and gross. Nellie is across it, though, and totally giving me a break, god love her. She's having two sleeps today, she had a huge weekend, then swimming yesterday (AND we went on the bike, which is always more exhausting) so she just needed it. And she's sleeping all night. We were up to 23 nights in a row, but then went away for the weekend, which always screws us over. Still, she just woke up, cried, I shushed her, and she went back to sleep, every time. So easy.

MadB- I'm making a stack of soups today. Majorcan cabbage (aka fartbomb soup) and pumpkin and maybe potato and leek. Stuffing the vegies in to see if it helps with cold season. The toddler looooooves soup, DH not so much, but he can go jump. It's so easy and freezy and good.

We have counting here... "one, one, one, one one!" She has a counting book with butterflies that we have to read about ten times a day. Before lunch. Also, putting words together. We've had "night night bike" :lol: and "bye Rose" and "where hat?" Still hat crazy! But only sunhats. Not beanies. Nooooooo way.

Audax, :lol: at hoecakes :) and the forcefeeding, what is with that? Happily, it's more often an imaginary biscuit I'm being forcefed these days (although I am doing fine at putting away plenty of the real ones by myself :redface:), but Millie can also get very insistent about giving me bits of whatever she's eating. Especially this week when she has eaten buggerall. Millie is fine with beanies - I bought her an owl one. Soooo cute :)

MadB, hope your two have got over their colds. When you said Miri tantrums but DS didn't for ages, I wondered if tanties are a girl domain... then Cathie said Charlie throws down too. Love it :)

Cathie, hope preparations are going well for your new bub. Even with only one kid, I'm going to have to do the same for my DH as he doesn't cook. He'd happily eat peanut butter sandwiches for ever, but I'd like Millie to have a bit more nutritional balance :)

I had a night away last night! Longest spell away from Millie in 18 months - a whole 24 hours. I missed her but it was sooooo good :) my bestie booked me in for a pregnancy massage up in Katoomba (Blue Mountains), we (plus three other friends) stayed in her in-laws' holiday cottage, ate far too much and giggled a lot. Lovely.

Millie got gradually worse this week and on Friday had to be put on antibiotics as the infection finally hit her chest. She's responding well to them, but is still pretty disinterested in food. Drinking lots of water though - she'll catch up on the food when she feels better. We're having to give her ventolin as well, but on the whole, she's managing really well.

Can you believe I have 4 weeks to go,WOW this time has gone so quick. Charlie boy is soooooo cute I just want to squeeze him, he loves to dance and he is starting to play with the kids. He chases them around the house laughing Hana and Sam really enjoy playing with him.

Audax - Hope your feeling better.....

PP - Hi love, All is ready for the baby all I have to do is pack my bag and unpack a few more baby clothes. Alex was a winter baby and all he wore was the bonds outfits.....I'm starting to feel a little guilty about leaving my hubby at home with 6 kids.... I just don't know how he is going to cope.... How are you feeling?

MadB, great news on Miri getting up to get on down! Was it a wiggle dance or a Wiggle (TM) dance ;) Millie hears a lot of the skivvied ones at daycare... still happy with whatever is on the ipod at home, thank goodness :) Although she says "noooo" if her two lullaby songs come on during the day - dream a little dream by the mamas and the Papas and Moonshadow by Cat Stevens. Apparently it's okay for me to sing them at bed time, but not to hear them at playtime...

Cathie, I'm sure DH will manage. Will the older kids help out a little where they can? I'm okay, pretty tired as third trimester looms and Pud keeps me up at night. Completely over work. Would happily quit right now. Stupid money.

Millie is finally better and eating again. Had the funniest moment the other afternoon - we have a single seater lounge at an angle to the three seater, which provides a great little cubby hole for her. She scooted herself in there, popped up and yelled, "Daddy!" DH got on the floor on the other side of the lounge and started playing - she'd pop up, yell for him, he'd pop up and say "Millie!", she'd squeal with laughter and pop back down. This went on for awhile, then there was a pause... she popped up, "Daddy!", DH popped up... and got crowned by a toy giraffe. She ambushed him good and proper. I almost wet myself :rofl:

hey PP - yeah I'll sit down with the older kids before I go into hospital and have a good talk with them.... Go Millie, they are soooooooooooooo cute at this age. Charlie boy says a few words not many, as the older kids just know what he wants that he dosen't have to ask..... I'm trying to get the older kids to talk to him more and say words back to him. He can follow directions without any problems.

Miri has walked a bit with no hands! Just one step the other day, 2 yesterday and 8 in a row today, twice! She was very pleased with herself. And of course we all applauded.
Miri's talking all the time - well, trying to, her pronounciation is not great. She even said "pool day", meaning, can we go to the pool today. lol. So different to DS. I wonder what she'll be like in 6 months, though, compared to him.

How are you all? I hope you're well and your loved ones also. And how are those bellies going ladies? Cathie you are so close, PP & Charlotte not long now and Audax you're getting close to half way, will you find out if you are baking a little miss or a mr??

We're good here, just doing my best to keep up with the demands. Miss Harper is great, just gone 18 months which is so hard to believe. She points out babies everywhere we go but she's MY baby!!! She started walking just after Easter and now keeps up with her brothers with no effort at all. Her and Charlie play together beautifuly and this weekend with DH and the boys being away i have to really make a point of keeping her busy because she is lost without them. We only have 4 teeth here and the most recent popped through at Easter. She's had some rosey cheeks of late but no signs on the gums from what i can see. She is still a challenge on the sleep side of things, for a few weeks after we got back from sleep school we really made progress. She will now sleep through the night and if she wakes she does not need a feed to resettle. But her thing now is waking at 5am. At first i tried the settling techniques but she wasn't having any of it and all i was doing was waking up the boys at 5am also. So now her and i go and lay on the couch each morning, most mornings she will have a bit more a snooze in my arms but i tend to barely get any more sleep myself. I'm not sure what to do or IF there is anything i can do... it's been going on for about 6 weeks now and i'm sure it's her body clock. I'm tired though and having to go to bed quite early to be able to keep up with the kids during the day. But at 5am i'm doing my best to enjoy the chance to have her snuggle or play in my arms. Georgi i'm not sure if you keep up with the group anymore but i remember you getting up to your boys this time each morning and you could probably quote me from some time back on saying something about not being able to imagine getting up and beginning my day at that time.... well i do now :lol: I'm hoping it'll pass soon :o Otherwise we're feeding 3 times a day still, i can call her from the other end of the house and she'll come running, she's not ready to give up yet. We do have a little issue with the attachment sometimes incorporating teeth but we're persisting, i'm happy if she's happy.

I haven't read back on the threads thoroughly but i do see Miri has taken a few steps!! Yay for Miri i'm sure it's just the beginning of her being well and truely on the move.

PP how are you going without your furry friend? Sadly we are at the stage where it is time for my furry friend to go to doggy heaven. I'm finding it really difficult but she has been prone to cancer, she's had 3 operations so far and now has a lump on her leg that we won't be able to operate on. I hate having her life in my hands like this.

We've had a few sickies here also, Aidan slightly, Charlie had a grose nose for over a week and Harper has had a bit of a runny nose and the other morning woke up with the early signs of croup. But they're all getting better now.

I need to head to bed girls, i might be around for a little bit again but i have requested to be banned for a little longer. I really do hope you are all well and happy.
