Names you loved but will never/ have never used.
I have accepted that my two names I have always wanted to use will never happen, DH wont budge at all.
My girls name is Audrey, love it. DH thinks of the daughter from National Lampoons and can't get past that.
My boys name is Corban, I watched 5th element and that was it, I loved the name. DH laughs at me everytime I bring it up again.
What are the names you always thought you would/will use but could not get your LO to come to the party on?

I loved Everleigh for a girl. DP says it sounds like Beverly.
I really really wanted DS to be Elliot. But he couldn't get past Elliot from Law and Order (who I love!!)
Names you loved but will never/ have never used.
Miranda for a girl. DP didn't like it this time around and with choosing DD2's name, too many of the same sounds.
Henry for a boy. My sister used it for her dog. :/
Charlie, we used it for our dog! Never realised how much we would like it.

I LOVED Dashiell (nn Dash) but DP swayed me into another name for our baby boy. I got so close with Dash!
I would love a Clementine for a girl but DP just laughed :(
Re: Names you loved but will never/ have never used.
I would love to name a boy Spike Danger but alas my childbearing days are gone. DH wanted road name a boy Vinnie but I overruled him. He also wanted to name a boy Mcgilveray but again I said no. I only ever loved one girl's name and we only got one girl so no difficulties there.

Willow and Piper were favourites for me this time, but DH hated them. Luckily in the end we found a unique girls name we both loved (Annika).
Zara was our girls name when we had DS, but by the time we did have our girl we'd outgrown it.
Names you loved but will never/ have never used.
Henry for a boy.
Matilda, Stella and Grace for girls. There are actually quite a few girls names but that's all I can think of at the moment...

I always wanted Lillian Louise but DH said no as it would be hard for a kid to say.
Names you loved but will never/ have never used.
Drake for a boy... DH hated it!

Kazzo, the one and only name in the world I wanted to call my Daughter was Audrey.
Audrey Catherine (middle name is my name)
Alexis is just about to turn two and I still want that name!!!!
Over my husbands dead body aparently :(

We had Chloe for the girl we never had :)

Actually, DH and I decided on names before I was ever pregnant, and we never used them. We would have had Paige and/or Michael if we'd stuck with them. I realised at about 10 weeks with Ianto that we could NOT name our daughter Paige Reid. How did we not realise that?! Once I'd pointed that out we re-thought Michael. I admitted I didn't really like the name. We only ever chose it because we liked the nickname "Mikey". Dumb dumb dumb. I still loooove the name Paige and I'll keep it in mind if I remarry and have a daughter with my new husband
DH is a hard-butt when it comes to names. The ones we've come up with (Ianto/Isabelle, Amelia/Oscar) are the only ones he ever agreed to. Oscar he wasn't a huge fan of, but I flat-out told him that if we had a boy it would be that if he didn't think of a better one. Luckily we had a girl
I've already named our next girl, and he agrees. Just have to think of a boy's name and we're set for one more ;) Middle names are ridiculous though. It has to be a J name for every boy but he doesn't like any of my suggestions!

I loved Greta, but DH wouldn't have a bar of it :(
Names you loved but will never/ have never used.
Grace.
My daughter was always going to be Grace Ann. Alas, no girl for me and no more babies so no Grace.

Great thread Kazzo!
It will help me find some more names to try with DH - he hates soo many and we both have large extended families that we kinda have no choice but to go 'different' BUT DH still hates most of them.

Re: Names you loved but will never/ have never used.
If Spock was a boy it was have been Xanda Tyr Sol. i always thought we would recycle but somehow since she was a she Xanda seems to have passed. might use if we have more than one boy in the future but have a different names picked for our next.
when I was younger names that were my fave before I decided on my golden list were: Liberty, Freya, Sinead for girls, and Zeke, Achielles, Sean and Cyprus for boys. might still make an appearence depending on number of childen.
Fortuantly DH still says i can have complete 100% say ob our kids names even though ive asked him if he is sure millions of times. so the number of children will be the only limit.
