Me first!!!!!! hehehe
Thanks Juniper, even if the cycle is a flop I'm just so happy I'm doing something! It's been 12 months since my last cycle and at my age, that's dangerous territory! You can see I've removed my age from my sig, I feel depressed every time I look at it! lol xox
Sneaky Second!!
Just posted too late in the previous thread...
I just wanted to thank all of you for the support since joining this thread. This whole IVF journey would have been so much harder without you all. I will be stalking and I really hope you all get your well deserved BFP's very soon xxx

Faye, with DD it didn't sink in until well after she was born. We become conditioned to expect disappointment, so it can take a while to accept that you have succeeded. Just give yourself time. It will happen.
Catyo, GL on Monday!
Miss.B, I know just what you mean.
Well said Juniper I think that is exactly the issue - we become conditioned to expect disappointment.
congrats Faye! some days i still am amazed to be a parent that feeling doesnt go away ;)
Had appt with FS yesterday IVF cycle with natural fertilisation booked for end of July (time to get the money together) I was meant to go on the pill but have decided to just let nature take its time then make sure i go on it to have a withdrawal bleed in time.
she did suggest ICSI but i explained my reservations but also due to DH's HUGE count and only 4% normal morph i still think he will have ample of healthy ones once they "clean" them up to fertilise the egg.
So i will hang out here still but not actually be on a planned cycle for 8 weeks.
I agree with DS it was totally unreal until that big day. Try to enjoy though. Well done you xx
Faye a huge congratulations that's fantastic xxx
AFM; I still cant believe it but we found the money to do 1 ivf cycle next month. I cant believe it i'm in shock and i'm so excited and
so scared and worried that I will be devastated if it does not work. I have been doing accupunture and herbs, COQ10, vitamin d, metformin,
elevit, so now i'm worried I have not done enough as I did not know we would ever be able to afford ivf so stupid me i'm worried. I'm so pleased I have
you lovely ladies to talk to as we are not telling anyone and since I have never done ivf i'm sure I will have heaps of questions. I think I really need
to take a deep breath and take it in i'm just so excited and nervous at the same time.
Rai, great to hear you have an opportunity to do an IVF! We're here to answer all your questions when you've had a chance to gather your thoughts. FWIW, you've done way more than I did to prepare for my first IVF. I wasn't doing most of those things until after IVF#3 was a bust. (That was back when the safety net wasn't capped, so our OOP was a lot less and we could afford more cycles.)
juniper thanks so much i'm so excited. And thanks I was worried I had not done enough now all I really need to do is lose weight which i'm now trying
very hard to do as this is the only cycle we are going to be able to afford so i'm hoping for lots of eggies so I can do some FET's if I need to, cause
I asked city fertility and they said a FET was around $2000 but out of pocket $500-$700 which is not much more than the double iui's I was doing.
Again thanks so much i'm just so excited:-))
That's great rai! I can hear the excitement in your writing. I think you've done a superb job in preparing!
So happy for you Faye...wait until your scan & you hear that heartbeat PRICELESS!!!
FX for your egg collection on Monday CatyO -hope your get great numbers xxx
Good luck Williever tomorrow for your transfer...sending you all the sticky vibes I possibly can!
Thanks Ladies :)
Good luck with your upcoming IVF cycle rai and Willi with your transfer. Also good luck with EPU on Monday CatyO :)
still feels surreal at almost 11 weeks. juniper i totally agree we are conditioned for disappointment after lttcc x

really sorry stupid double post
Rai, neither of the FS I did IVF with recommended bed rest after transfer. In fact, at my first transfer, my FS asked me if I was going back to work afterwards... I always took 2 days off work for EPU (day of EPU and day after) and 2 days for transfer (day of transfer and day after). I didn't do bedrest, just took it easy, put my feet up and kept away from the stress of work... As for dropping off your partner's sample, you'll have to check your clinic's policy. At my clinic, you take it with you and hand it over when you "check in" at the day theatres.
Williever/Hummingbird, did you both do blast (day 5) transfers? Just want to know for the list.
Yes juniper day 5. Thanks
Thanks. :)
5 day Juniper :)
As for bed rest my FS doesn't recommend any says u can go straight to normal, but I like the idea of doing very little for at least a day or two. Unfortunately it's not been possible this time round so hopefully it won't make a huge difference :/
I've read some forums from overseas (US based I think) and some of those women have two weeks proper bed rest (as in even use bedpans!) but I can't see how that would help, you would go crazy let alone have no blood circulation.
I tend to think no hard exercise, relax when possible and be a bit
Lazy with the housework.
X
Thanks again. I thought you both had 5dt, but wanted to confirm. Gotta let my OCD side win sometimes, right? ;)
Rai my FS says to go back to normal after transfer. Mine was on a Saturday so I didn't need to go to work so I just took it easy but certainly not restricted to bed rest...
Hi ladies
Sorry I've been missing for a bit. My husband & I had a birthday this week & it's just another reminder we are getting older & still childless. :( We are now 4 weeks in still trying to thicken my lining. Last Tuesday it had improved but still not good enough for a transfer. I have another scan this coming Tuesday & am praying that this is the week. My clinic has told me I then need to take progesterone for 7 days before a transfer though so we not looking for transfer until mid June. This cycle is going forever - I guess if it works that's ok. If not its more time wasted.
Congrats Faye - I am so happy for you.
Rai - my clinic said to go back to work also but the cycle I got my BFP I relaxed for 2 days. Not bed rest but took it really easy. I will be definitely taking 2 days again when I finally get another transfer.
Good luck to all of you in the 2ww.

Beau, I can only imagine how frustrating that must be! I hope your lining is thick enough very soon.
Hi ladies :D
Massive congratulations Faye that is the best news!! you must be beside yourself with excitement!!
So sorry Joe and Sarah  that's so hard for you both sending you  x
Good luck to all you other ladies on your TTW x
And hoping rest of you are doing okay wherever you are with your cycle and ttc!
Just had a few days away as my hubby was home on his R&R. To take our minds off our cycle we went away to the stunning Hinterlands in the Gold Coast for a few days and treated ourselves to a spa day, amazing!
So since my cancelled cycle my sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer :shakehead: just to add insult to injury. Luckily her Doc says its very very early stages and that with partial mastectomy and radiation she'll be fine  so I've been pretty down over all this. But I'm grateful her news is positive
I was so glad to have DH home from FIFO and the break done me world of good.
So all going well (and my lining behaves next time!) ill be attempting round 2 with my next AF in approx 2 weeks. I O'd while hubby was here so we are praying we just might be lucky
Beau, hope your lining keeps getting thicker and you're able to do a transfer mid June.
Rai, I'm a big believer in taking it super easy after transfer. My FS always said it's ok to go back to normal activities (including work!) straight after transfer. I've always took it really easy, usually 2 or 3 days of couch rest and so far I've been able to get bfps. Interestingly enough, when I got my bfp in Feb last year, my DS was almost 2 so it was harder to lie on the couch and take it easy. I didn't pick him up for 2 days after the transfer, and there was little to none couch rest, but I still managed a bfp (although this resulted in a m/c due to chromosome 16 abnormality). DS is now 3 and I don't pick him up so much now, so hopefully it will be easier with the heavy lifting. As for resting on a couch? Fat chance, but we'll see! GL with all your appointments hun.
Bunnyfeet, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I wish her all the best with her treatment. FX that you've caught that eggie on your getaway, otherwise GL in your next round of IVF.
Still waiting for AF, it's due tomorrow but no spotting as yet, just sore boobies, little cramping and very tired. I think I've got some sort of a bug, feeling queasy on and off and have runny poos still. I just wish it all went away and I was feeling 100% for the cycle :(
Hi ladies, I would like to join this thread, everyone seems so friendly and helpful. My DH and I are looking into IVF in Rockhampton at the moment. We moved up here 12 months ago which we were saving for IVF but then used our savings to move, so had to save again. We have done 14 months of doing IUI with no success while we were in Brissie. I have PCOS severely and knew since I was 15 it would be quite hard to fall PG, which I guess made it a little easier to cope with not falling PG (if it can ever be). My sister went through IVF 4 yrs ago and I will have her to ask questions, but we really don't want to tell anyone else so I will prob have a few to ask. Due to my PCOS I'm CD91 and have no idea if I will O cause without the pill I don't get AF. I have my doc appointment this week to get my referral to the FS hopefully June so hoping to start in August with our first IVF cycle once going through all the tests and trying to bring on AF again, so will just be trying to loose some weight in the meantime. Sorry it's a long post, just realised I babbled on a bit :-/ I'm just quite excited that we will be doing it this year since we have been trying for 4yrs
Thanks Miss B ;) welcome epayne hope this year is your year for your BFP :D
Thanks for adjusting me on list Juniper I am 3 dpo today (Monday)
.... So I have to admit.... I have been harbouring a secret.....
I started a Down Reg cycle in April.... Today I had EPU..... ;)
I'm just so excited I can't hold it in anymore.... 14 eggs!!! 14!!!!
My other stim cycles have been 5,7,9,9 ..... Surely with 14 I can get a few good embryos... Rather than the dismal failures we have had....
So I am waiting for transfer on Wednesday.... FX this one is it.... I was even calling myself a veteran to the nurses, and I really think this has got to be my turn. No reason why it couldn't be.
:leap: so much more excited and calm and relaxed this time... Don't know if it will last... And whatever happens I know I will be okay.... But I am feeling good... Sore... But good... And that can only be a good thing
yay myturn, 14 is fantastic! best of luck xoxo
fwiw our successful cycle was the one we didn't tell anyone where we were at ;)
Wonderful myturn! What a fantastic number to start with. Fingers crossed for you. When do you find out how they are doing?
