T Hopes that is great news! Makes it a little easier when you know your body is trying to do the right thing. Hope everything continues well :)
Munchkin...good luck tomorrow...hoping for some more great news :)
Elarwood hoping you are doing ok xxx
-
T-hopes - fantastic news on those betas :-) thanks for answering my questions about embryo quality, I guess you never know which ones are going to work.
Good luck tomo munchkin! 4pm is harsh!
Joe - how are you handling the wait? It really sucks!
Minnie - not long at all now!!
Thanks for thinking of me girls, I've had a rough week. The recovery has been slow, but its the emotional side thats harder. Saw FS this arvo, he said my tube was about to rupture, to we were very lucky to get to it before that happened. I asked him about the atypical endo, and he basically thinks its superficial endometriosis, it's only in my pouch of Douglas, but was red raw from the pregnancy. It hasnt been confirmed, But doesnt surprise me. he gave us 3 options: see a different surgeon to get it removed (he doesn't like to deal with this type of endo), go on zoladex for 3-6 months to suppress it, or go ahead with fet using the steroids, feldene, aspirin & clexane in the hope that it is enough to suppress it. He will also do a hysterscopy, biopsy & lipidol flush a week before cycle starting & intralipids all of which is supposed to help implantation & immune issues. DH & I have no clue which way to go. Do any of your have experience with endo? What would you do? If we do the medication for 3 months that will bring us up to the dec/jan period were they close for most of Jan so it probably wouldn't be until late jan/feb. I hate the waiting!
-
Hope you don't mind me answering Elarwood, but I did a protocol with Clexane, steroids, Intralipids, biopsy, aspirin, antibiotics, etc, etc for my ninth cycle. It made no difference at all :(
-
Elarwood:  I don't know much about any of those things, I only used clexane until 12 weeks, wasn't even on progesterone (had crinone in the 2ww but stopped when the pregnancy test was positive)
-
Elarwood can't offer much advice sorry as don't have endo. With DD I was on clexane the entire pregnancy though due to clotting disorder & high risk of dvt. Hope it all works out for you. I know the emotional side is hard. Tomorrow marks the day I did a FET that ended in m/c at 9 wks. Doesn't help it is also my bday tomorrow & knowing that I could have had another by now is really weighing heavily on me at the moment :( hope you have some fantastic support to help you through xxx
-
So I made a mistake, lucky I rang to confirm apt it was actually 3pm.
Anyways, we saw our little emby measuring well with a strong heart beat! Feeling so very blessed! Praying it all continues well. Thanks for all your kind wishes, trust me I know how hard it is to hear about other people's good news!
Elarwood- have been thinking of you... I had at least moderate endo but the main reason I had a lap prior to ivf was the fact that I had an endometrioma (ovarian cyst) which would have enlarged with meds and increased the risk of infection at time of egg retrieval. Pregnancy itself actually helps the endo so I'm not too sure why yours flared up? Anyway.. I was then on the synarel to suppress further growth before stims. My case is a bit different to yours but I can't see why you should need to get it removed prior to your next cycle? It doesn't sound like you have enough to be causing a problem? I could be wrong. Take care xx
-
Munchkin!!! Yayaya!!! Wonderful news, sooooo thrilled for you! :happyforyou:
Be back soon xxx
-
Munchkin...that is such wonderful news! Congratulations!!! Heres to a happy & healthy 9 montus ahead :):):)
-
Munchkin: that's great news, grow strong little one
-
Thankyou!! And thanks for all your support. I will definitely keep popping in to see how you are all going and looking forward to hearing about everyone's good news xxx
-
Elarwood- some big decisions for you to make but I think if your nit sure, you just have to be guided by your FS! I have endo too, mine was moderate in my bowel area. I Ave never been on meds for it as its always just been cut out by my FS. Sorry I don't have any firm advice for you! What are you feeling is the right desicion now you've had some time to think?
-
Wonderful news munchkin! Hope you enjoy your pregnancy.
Thanks for the info on endo girls. My first FS actually picked up that I had endo & removed it in Jan this year but the biospy came back clear. But now that it's come up again I think we need to do something about it. Our first thinking was to go ahead with fet in oct with the intralipids etc & if it fails then do the zoladex for 3 months over Xmas/jan closure period. My FS recommends the 3-6 mths on zoladex but I've researched a lot on endo the past few days & I'm leaning towards the lap with another surgeon. I'm going to ring the two surgeons he recommended to see when I get in etc & try & get it done ASAP & then we should be able to do a fet around nov. I don't want to waste our tested embryos by taking the risk, so hopefully I can get it done soon & not have to wait until the new year for fet.
T-hopes & munchkin - Did your FS make you wait to start a cycle after a lap for endo? With my lap in jan I went straight into a stimulated cycle after AF.
Nothing2lose - was your cycle with all those meds with a tested embryo? If so, was there any reason why it didn't help you, and have you had success yet?
-
Thanks Elarwood. I had to wait for 6 weeks post lap and be on zoladex/synarel during this time. My FS said I had to wait that long to give my ovary time to heal before stimming it. He gave me the option of being on zoladex for a few months instead of lap but there were no guarantees the cyst would shrink and I wanted to get on with things. I'm glad I ended up having lap as they were able to clean up the other endo I had.
-
Elarwood - yes i was told to wait for my first period after procedure and then we were able to start trying but I had this done a few mths before we started ivf... I just wanted to get everything cleaned up and 'serviced' before we started the journey if that makes sense. I had lap/d&c/hysteroscopy and tubal flush xxxxx
-
Well I booked the lap with a gynaecologist my FS recommended for 27 sept, could have done it next week but I mentioned I had a lap a few weeks ago & they said to wait 4 weeks. Then hopefully FET late october. FS is doing a hysterscopy, scratch biospy & lipidol flush & also intralipids plus all the other meds so I'm hoping we have everything covered & it will come down to the quality of our tested embryos. We are transferring 2, hopefully lucky transfer # 7. I start the pill tomorrow & will be on it until we start fet.
Enjoy your pregnancies girls, I'm happy for you. Hopefully I will join you soon.
-
Elarwood- wishing you all the best for your procedure on the 27th, hopefully this is the missing pie e to the puzzle and your next transfer brings you a healthy strong bfp xxx all here for you honey xx how are you coping at the moment?
Hello to everyone else!!
I just wanted to let you know we had our 6wk scan today and we saw a healthy heartbeat! Feeling unbelievably blessed! Thank you everyone for your constant support and advice!ill be stalking xxxx
-
That's fantastic news T Hopes! Must admit that is my most favourite scan & hearing the hb for the first time is just magical!
Wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months ahead :)
-
Wonderful news T hopes! Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy!
-
All the best with your lap elarwood!
-
Hi ladies,
Just a quick introduction :)
I hope I'm in the right place as its my first cycle but I couldn't find any other pgd forum......
DP and I have been TTC for 22mths now. We've been pg 3 times but unfortunately lost all bubs at 7 weeks. We have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility but I do have PCO, Insulin Resistance and high NK cells. DP has super swimmers ;).
We are starting our first IVF cycle in 2 weeks. Currently on the pill delaying af to match up with booked dates for egg retrieval. We will be doing an antagonist cycle and will also be doing Clexane injections and taking steroid tablets. If all goes well  embryos will be getting AES testing done on day 3. FS wants us to to do the testing as all my mcs have been unexplained and most likely chromosome issues (although both DP and I are fine and it could possibly be my high NK cells??).
I'll probably be quiet in the next couple of weeks but can't wait to join in with you all xx
-
Welcome Penny! Wishing you well on your journey, hoping you get some positive results quickly :)
AFM still just waiting to start my cycle (another month to go!). Enjoying my acupuncture sessions, hoping the relaxation will give me a helping hand...certainly can't hurt!
Elarwood best of luck for your lap on Friday...hope you get some answers :)
-
Welcome Penny, all the best for your upcoming cycle. Are you on metformin for pcos? And is your FS going to use something to lower your high nk cells for transfer or. Steroids, clexane, aspirin, intralipids?
Joe, the waiting is hard! Ill be doing my fet around the same time as your cycle. I'm glad the acupuncture is helping to keep you relaxed and sane.
-
Thanks JoeSpratt and Elarwood!
Elarwood, I'll be on steroid tablets starting from day 2 and then Clexane injections after transfer aswell! Eeeek I'm going to be a walking chemist :o
How do you ladies keep your mind busy while waiting? Waiting for retrieval, waiting for trf, waiting for preg test ahh so much waiting in this process.
-
Penny welcome ! I have had 5 miscarriages, 3 have started to fail around that 7 week mark. Good luck when your cycle starts, you are right there is a lot of waiting around, just have to deal with it day by day
Elarawood: how are you feeling ? to you also
Joe: good to hear acupuncture is helping you pass the time, hopefully your cycle is here before you know it !
Munchkin: how are you going ?
Hi to everyone else :)
Afm: well I'm nearly at the finish line, ended up in hospital on the weekend with premature labour, stayed a few days and home now, not feeling great and want bub out ASAP. Going for a scan today to check wellbeing and size. At most I have got 2 weeks to go as I'm being induced at 38 weeks
-
Thanks ladies. Had my lap today & good news is that he got all the endometriosis. Haven't spoken to him about how bad it was etc but I'm pretty sore. He booked me to stay overnight, I was surprised as I haven't with the other 2 laps & I asked if I could go home. I was allowed until recently as I haven't been able to void. Bummer!
Minnie - how exciting only a few weeks to go & you'll have your little miracle in your arms. I'm doing ok (on antidep meds now as I needed something to get me through the emotional pain after my ectopic).
Penny the waiting is so hard! It's the worst part of the whole process! You're always waiting for something. I try to keep busy & do some fun things. Have you had the clexane before? They are the worst, but you'd do anything for a bub! What dose of steroids will you be on? I'm doing intralipids next cycle as a precaution (haven't actually tested for nk cells) but my FS is throwing everything at me this FET (transfer 7 for us) so I'm hoping something will work!
The plan is to have a hysterscopy around 9th October (for lipoidol flush, scratching etc) & the following week start FET. So much earlier than I thought. Because I'm on the pill we can pretty much do it whenever as I've had my 6 week break after the ectopic.
Munchkin & t-hopes I hope you're keeping well. We hope to join you all soon! Next cycle is our cycle girls!
-
elarwood - meant to reply earlier but don't find much spare time for bb atm, I was on pred, clexane & aspirin for recent pregnancy. you've probably found the info you were looking for already but happy to chat if you like. best of luck & im glad your lap went well. xx
belated congrats to thopes & munchkin, enjoy!
minnie - hope your scan went well, not long now.. xx
still stalking you joe, and the other ladies in here... still hoping that its not much longer. xx
-
Hi all!
elarwood I'm glad your lap went well, I too think next cycle you will be joining us :-)
Minnie, all the best with your delivery.. Very exciting!!
I hope everyone else is doing well...
I have been feeling pretty crappy and tired but I'm definitely not complaining. We have our 12 week scan next week so looking forward to seeing bubs although I have been sneaking a peak at work every now and again (i'm a sonographer but I don't do obstetrics).
Good luck with your upcoming cycles xxxxx
-
Glad to hear everything is going well Munchkin. A least now the yuckiness and tiredness should start to ease in the 2nd trimester. Good luck for your scan :)
-
Hi ladies,
Minnimouse, a big congrats on your pregnancy. You definitely give me hope that recurrent miscarriages might not be the better of me aswell!
Elarwood, that's awesome about getting rid of all your endo! Wow your fet will be here in no time! I will be on 10mg of the prednisolane (steroid) from day 2 and then 20mg after transfer. I haven't had the Clexane before eeeek I guess I'll be used to some prodding and discomfort by then hehe.
JoeSpratt I hope you're doing well sweets!
AFM, no more pill! Yaaaaaay! I'm expecting af to come tomorrow or Monday, FC, and then have my first bt Tuesday and then start the gonal-f and the prednisolane! Ive had two boughts of the flu in what seems like only a month! Driving me insane.....I just want to breaaatthheee!
Ladies, if you don't mind, can you tell me how many embryos you were left with after pgd? And if your clinic does the testing on day 3 or day 5?
-
Penny...yeah for all systems go! Here's hoping this is your time!
For my first cycle (about 6 years ago now) we got 9 eggs with 6 making it to testing with 2 testing normal. My cycle earlier this year also gave us 9 eggs with 5 making it to testing with only 1 testing normal. My pgd odds are 50/50 ie its either normal or not.
Hoping for a better showing this next cycle. Only a few more weeks to wait!!!
-
penny popper - I did 1 round of pgd, got around 11-12 collected, 7 suitable for biopsy, 2 came back normal. i was very happy with this result as sometimes you can have all come back abnormal. after 10 previous failed transfers, i finally had success with my first pgd transfer. my clinic biopsied on day 2. good luck. : )
-
Testing was on day 3 for day 5 transfer
-
actually maybe it was day 3 like joe... must've been. ; )
-
Congratulations Munchkin for almost reaching the 12 week milestone! I agree the sickness should subside soon & you'll start to have more energy.
Thanks Andie for answering my question. My FS is throwing everything at me for this cycle, so fingers crossed. I'm relieved to hear your bub was a day 3 tested embryo.
Joe, I'm wishing you much better success this time. Having a chemical must have been so difficult! I still don't cope well with having an ectopic with a tested embryo.
Penny, my testing was day 3 also. This was my 5th stim cycle but first pgd. I actually got 34 eggs retrieved (big shock, I usually get 10-14), 15 tested & 6 normal. So 40% were normal for us which is pretty much spot on for my age (30). All the best for day 2 starting this week :-)
I hope to have a chat with the endo surgeon this week to find out more about what he found as his fill in said something about structural things & couldn't explain. Hysterscopy on Wednesday & then we are good to start once I come off the pill on Friday. I'll be on the steroids as well & trying intralipids.
Minnie - how long now?
-
Thanks so much for the info ladies.
My period still hasn't arrived and I'm 3 days from stopping the pill.....argh! But I called my clinic nurse and she said not to worry and to still come in tomorrow for my bt and meds. If hormones low she said I can start tomorrow but I'm worried about the hormones because my boobs are sore from the pill. Could this mean my estrogen levels are high???
-
Ladies just wanted to update.....bloods came back low and I just did my first gonal-f injection :) I'm actually really proud of myself...didn't hesitate and did it all by myself!
Hope everyone is well x
-
Yay for starting Penny & for being so brave! The gonal f are the good injections but you are still brave to do it on your own. After 5 cycles I still get DH to do mine. Did AF/withdrawal bleed show at all? I stop the pill on Friday & wait for bleed.
Had hysterscopy/endo biopsy & lipidol flush this morning. All went well & nice to not be in pain after a procedure :-)
-
Elarwood yes! Af decided to show her lovely face yesterday, which I'm happy about as I was starting to wonder why my body was being so strange! At least now my uterus will be nice and fresh for my, fc, trf! So it took 5 days from last pill for her to show, hopefully it doesn't take you that long, I've read it's usually 2 to 3 days.
So happy to hear everything went well with your procedure! How pleasantly nice is it when you don't have much pain afterwards.
So day 3 of gonal-f for me. I can't tell whether the soreness in my uterus area is from af or my ovaries producing lots and lots of follicles, let's hope it's the later! I have another blood test on sat morning and then will most likely start the Orgalutran which I've heard so much bad stuff about ahh so a little nervous about that needle.
-
Ladies had my estrogen levels checked today and they were only 377, which the nurse said was low for stim day 5 so they've upped me to 125iu of gonal f and not starting the Orgalutran just yet.
How's everyone else going?
