You go girls!
Continuing on from here .
it's a topic easy to chat lots about... hehehehe
Haha we are chatterboxes! Thanks for sharing about the Big W sale BG. Might have to go for a visit lol.
the catalogue is available online via lasoo if you want to have a beak. doesn't start til next week though.
i had layby'd an item for e's little friend about a month ago (already on special) and it's another $8 cheaper. given two of them in the layby, i will be cancelling and laybying again!
I'll be looking for the girls from us, Santa & the IL's hehe lots more lego coming :p
I love lego duplo! I have a toddler so not up to lego yet.
I am always being asked to build dinosaurs... the feet and legs are ok, but after that it doesn't seem to resemble anything like a dinosaur...
oooh I wonder if the BigW one is online too.....might toddle off and have a squizz
Will be checking out big W too :-)
it's not til thurs next week that the sale starts - so prices won't be reflective of the sale for a little bit :)
given lego and duplo are much the same (just the sizes) there are some lego "instructions" for dinosaurs that you might be able to use to get the right shape for your dinosaurs. pretty sure they are in the creator section of the lego website (i've got them printed already for dd) - if you need help finding them i can probably grab them and pm you the link Rowellen (sorry strawman, can't pm you for now!)
Must be somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks til Christmas - basically "normal" layby terms for the big stores. Kmart also have a catalogue out with some decent lego savings in it. the mine hubby has his eye on is $25 cheaper than the cheapest we've seen it on ebay, and about $40 cheaper than most shops have it. Fire station is $15 to $35 cheaper than i've seen it elsewhere. Some of the Friends stuff is cheap but some is comparable to elsewhere.
the one thing DH really wants to get (just the random 1600 piece set so that he and DD can make things together without running out of bits) is NOT on special lol typical!
Might have to check out if any other stuff is cheaper online & order it... Bigger stuff from Santa & the IL's. Picked up a friends magician set for $15 in woolies today... Not on special but thrown it in the x-mas pile as DD2 will love it!
So DS says today that if we get him the tree hut Lego, he won't need any other Lego EVER! Not the heliplane, the emergency kit, the digger/bulldozer, the big helicopter or anything! Pity, as he's got all the other stuff, plus a general mixed box and two aeroplanes coming, but no tree hut!
Lol, i made quite a few Duplo dinosaurs for DS 'BL' (before Lego, lol!). I was going to suggest the Lego instructions for Duplo dinosaurs, but there are different shaped pieces that really make the dinosaurs - the teeth, for instance. I got out of it sometimes by helping DS make Duplo caves, rocks and trees and then adding plastic dinosaur figurines :)
Ha, JLeigh, DS and I had a similar convo today, only his was the heliplane, and I won't even want the fire stuff or the monster trucks or the......
 better go and reorganise my laybys....not that he'll remember on Christmas day.
The heliplane is awesome! I can understand the desire to have that I one!
Dd really wants the spooky haunted house in the Kmart catalogue. Ummmmm no!
We don't get catalogues here so PRETTY PLEASE warn me of the sales BG, you've got an idea if what I'm after so let me know who has them cheapest ;p
Kmart one has a few of the things the girls wanted... Is that the cheapest you've seen the fire station?
Also is that cheap for summer riding camp?
We got the Kmart catalogue in the mail yesterday and I looked at BigW online on Friday. Will be making a list at lunchtime today ;) BG, I think the big box of lego is cheaper than elsewhere anyway. When Target had it on sale it was the same price as Kmart's not on sale price.
Was the friends magician one Mia's Magic Tricks? If so, I bought that one for DS's friend a couple weeks ago. I want to get another one for DS!
I think that's the one... A little rabbit pops out or something?
Girls list is massive & DP is like do they REALLY need more lego... Hmmm it's what they want.
Planning a few big sets & then just some smaller random stuff!
I would say its on par with cheapest I've seen riding camp. Fire station is definitely cheapest I've seen :)
So many good things. I can't decide. Will have to see what DH thinks.
I took DD to Woolies yesterday and she spotted a stand with DVDs. Guess what she picked up? The lego friends one. lol. I didn't buy it though. Was stupid price so they can keep it. i have seen it cheaper in the catalogues so I might get it for her for xmas. I already have the lego batman one for DS.
I shouldn't share this cos I want to win ;-) Mums Lounge have a competition to win the top ten Lego packs!! :-)
What's is mums lounge.....?????
ETA: found it ;)
The girls x-mas list is substantial.
That pack would do the girls, nephews & friends ;)
Good luck Hun!
It would be exciting if someone here wins the ten packs. :-) Especially if it's me. Lol
It would be exciting! That prize looks awesome. Fight you for it :ninja:
Hi Lego experts,
I want to buy our 2 year old dd duplo for her birthday. Are there themed ones or just blocks? Price wise is toys r is or Kmart/target better? Thanks!
I'm pretty sure they have a very cute zoo set, my girls had an alphabet train.
At the moment most places have sales but non sales times I've found kmart are generally cheapest (but look around)
I would suggest kmart too. There are a few themed duplo sets but I just got my DD a block set. I think at her age, making particular items is a bit hard. She prefers to build towers or have me build dinosaurs.
Thanks! I might buy one of each lol. Will try Kmart.
DS earnt his second lego reward today. Since he asked for girl lego last time, I gave him a little friends set. He was not impressed lol. I was nice since it was a reward and swapped it for a toy story set. The look on his face said it all :D He can't wait to get home from kindy today to put it together. And I can't wait to get home from work to put it together lol. Might have to put the friends sets up for a couple years until DD is big enough  Can't believe he's been gender stereotyped already. He used to love pink & purple. Boo to gender stereotyping.
gender stereotyping sucks big time! DD has joined the "girls lego, boys lego" brigade - and i have no idea where she got it from!
I'm sure DS gets it from his kindy friends because I have always encouraged him to choose pink if he wants pink, to play with dolls if he wants to (not much lol). He even sits watching Tinkerbell with a scowl on his face saying every now & then "I hate this movie" but unable to drag his eyes away. He used to fight DD over the pink plate. Not anymore :(
My girls love both so I'm lucky ;)
Kinda lego aside but keep going with the there's no girls and boys toys, girls and boys colours, they learn the most from you.
I thought I was beaten by school but recently I've overheard both my 7yo DD1 and 4yo DS tell other kids that there are no such things as girl/boy toys/colours after they belittled another kid.
We keeps our Friends separate but only because of the unique pieces. All 3 of mine play with all types.

Woolies has systema half price ATM if anyone needs any storage :) The large containers fit perfectly in DS's underbed drawers so I picked up a few today.
