Update on me..

Well as most of you know, went in for gels last night but got sent home coz i was alreadty 3cms dilated. She did a stretch and sweep before i left. Since 12pm yesterday i'd also been getting more than usual braxton hicks. BH became more ouchie during the night but i managed to sleep though them only waking up about 3 times. Woke up at about 5am with very ouchie and regular contractions coming every 5mins. Got up at 5:30am and waters broke. Rang midwife and she told me to come to hossy at same time i was going to anyway, 7am. In the meantime contractions went to every 3mins. Got there just after 7. Contractions started to slow down back to 4mins apart. Contractions we in both lower back and under belly. They really started to fizzle out though at around 11am. Midwife checked cervix at 12pm and still only 3cms! Grrrr. So had some lunch and chose to go back home. Booked in for indction on Friday if nothings happened by then because it will be just over 72hrs after waters broke. Had a nap for about 2 hours. could still feel contractions but didnt hurt any more. Got up and now having very ouchie contractions again but they are all over the place. Bub is not really in the ideal position, so his head is probably not on my cervix fully which is why it won't dilate. His back is at my right side. Got told to sleep on left side and he has moved around to front a bit more which is good. but still getting these damn contractions in my back! they hurt like crazy. In my tummy i can stand but not both! He's not even posterier! I am feeling so very discouraged at the moment. Jacob has been excellent though. I feel like chucking one of Lily's major tantys!:crying:

Tegan, we all know you can do it. It's awful that everything is taking so long for you but you can do it, and you'll feel so good when it's over.

I hope you're already in full on labour, mate!

Tegan, the back pain should reduce as bubby moves around to anterior, sounds like all the right stuff is going on. Remember early labour is exactly that, up to 4cms can take some time but obviously you are on a time limit. So re-read my articles on natural labour induction, get some acupuncture, walk, go up stairs - which will help turn bubs, and try not to get too anxious! You are so close - a slow build up can be a good one :)

Tegan Im So Excited For You And As Im Writing This Im Having Niggles Of My Own Ive Got A Good Feeling We Will See Each Other In Hospital That Would Be So Good To Meet Someone Of This Website How Was The Stretch And Sweep I Had It Last Week And I Swear The Trauma Of That Will Never Leave Me It Hurt So Much And Gave Me The Runs And I Couldnt Walk All Day Even Though Your Contractions Are All Over The Place I Beleive That You Are In Labour As All My Labours Had Contractions At All Different Times Even When The Baby Was Nearly Coming Out Isnt It Harsh To Be Sent Home You Would Think That They Would Let You Stay Cause If My Water Breaks Id Like To See Them Kick Me Out

Awwwww Tegan you're just waiting for me to be at work ;) I hope those labour vibes kick in well and truely and you'll be holding your little man in your arms by the time i get to work at 7am :D Try and rest up as much as possible, relax and let your body do the work it was so beautifully designed for :D

Tegan went into labour again at 3:30am this morning and was 5cm dialated. At 8am things were stopping and starting but still in a lot of pain. She hasnt given in to drugs yet!!

Hopefully things are happening for the tired princess by now!!

YAH that things seem to be going forward now for her, hope all is well

ok Tegan is still only 5cm. She is now having the drip but is in a lot of pain and is contemplating the epidural.

She is worried that would mean she was weak and selfish. I assured her thats not the case and that we all so proud of her no matter what

That is so not selfish, she needs to be able to rest and relax and be able to have the stregth to push. Im with you dann, we'll be proud of her no matter what!! And 5 cms is 5 cms, its half way to being able to push the baby out. praying things will move along abit for her...

You are so not weak & selfish. If you have to do it, you have to do it. Tell her she shouldn't be worrying about how we feel. Besides that we feel that she will do what's best for her & her little man & that's all that matters.

Go Tegan! Do what you have to do hun, it doesn't matter what anybody thinks and it is SO NOT selfish or mean to have an epi to make yourself more comfortable!
