8 weeks today (vent)

ok so today i am 8 weeks preg and i have known since 3 weeks 5 days.... although when i was suspected 6 weeks and 2 days the ultrasound said the baby's size was 6 weeks which annoyed me because i knew exactly when my lmp was and everything and two days is alot when things seem to go so slow!!!!!
so i am slowly moving along counting the days as they go, eating myself stupid even though i feel sick and watching my ass grow on the couch ( i first wasn't working as i work in childcare and there was a chicken pox outbreak and the first day i went back i fainted so now i can't work due to the possibility of fainting ugh).....
so here i am crawling the boards of belly belly and hoping ppl come on msn to talk meaningless crap with i am so frustratingly bored its rediculous and this pregnancy couldn't go slower when i am just itching for it to progress!!!

Hey noni I know how you feel - I'm 8 weeks tomorrow! Things are going so very slowly - I haven't had a scan yet but am so anxious to have one but the dr doesn't think there's any reason to have one just yet and put my MC last year down to "bad luck"!
Hopefully things speed up for us all :)
When is your next appt? Have you seen a midwife yet?

i am just seeing a gp atm have my first appt at the ante natal clinic in april they don't wanna see me till then.... my next appt at the dr is this sat and is for urine screening and bp i see him every 2 weeks atm....
the only reason i got to have a scan was because i had pain on one side so bad that they thought i was ectopic at 6 weeks.... so lol u could just tell em u have excruciating pains??? or that ur unsure of ur dates? they should give u an ultrasound then lol... although at 6 weeks i had to have an internal because nothing was big enough to see with the normal one, so thats not very pleasant and i would assume at 8 weeks it wouldn't be any different... however i must say it was worth it coz it puts ur mind at ease especially when u see the heart beat...

I go back to him in 2 weeks and he said he'd give me a referral to the hospital but they probably won't want to see me until about 18 weeks so same as you in April.
I might just wait the 2 weeks and ask for a scan then - hopefully nothing happens before then to need one.

i really got mad at him lol poor guy... i was like fast? u try having nothing to do and feeling like crap knowing there is 7 months left and things could get worse!!!!

My mum used to work at Blacktown Hosp in 1999. Where are you going to book in to have the bub?

lol at blacktown hospital... its really close to here (like less than 5 min drive) and my dads g/f is a nurse who used to work there and said since we didn't have the money to go private it was a good choice...

Nice and close :) I can't wait for things to start to hurry up a little.. I have exams next week and the week after so hopefully that'll make it go by a litle quicker.

http://www.holodeck.com/pregnancy/chinese-cal.html thats a link to the lunar calendar and the ring of love is just when you put a wedding band or a gold ring on a string and put it over your belly while laying down - if it goes in a circle its said to be a girl and if it swings back and forth its said to be a boy - of course these are just for fun :) the lunar calendar works for all pregnancies for some people but none for others!

LOL thats the same with me! Though I don't really know if I concieved in dec or Jan so *shrugs* it was between Dec 29 and early Jan! Are you 21 too?

*sigh* that chinese lunar calendar worked for all my other pregnancies,, and this time it ways it HAS to be a girl,,,,,as there are several months either side of the conception month,, and they are all girls. However,, we have had a 100% positive gender identification on this little one,, and it is another boy lol

You're a month older than me Noni :) My ring thing said girl I think I'll have to do it again though because I can't remember now. Are you going to get the NT scan done?

yeah i am getting the nt scan done but mostly because i wanna see the baby lol i will love my little baby no matter what!!!! i heard u have to have bloods taken with it lol my dr specifically did not tell me that and i am assuming that is because he knows i am terrified of them!!!!! so lol it may not be even be able to tell me anything if i refuse the bloods lol but like i said i am itching to see my little bubba again and make sure everything is fine

lol i just dream about food lol chocolate especially i guess that is weird

Yeah I am going to ask for a scan when I go back for my check-up in 2 weeks but don't think I'll get the NT scan but will have to talk to DP about it.
I've been having a lot of nightmares about random things and I dreamt a couple of weeks ago that I had twins and then the other night I dreamt I had a boy but it was on an ultrasound machine lol very weird dreams.

Yeah, i was hopeing for a little girl, as i have 3 boys, but lost a little girl at 30 weeks,,, but it was not meant to be,, and i cant wait to see this little man!!
Only have to wait till thursday next week for the caesar,, so not long now.
And yes, you have to have bloods taken at the same time as the NT scan, as they need to data from that, along with the measurements to put into their computer program to determine your risk factors etc. I didnt have mine done, so the sonographer rushed off and got he forms and i had to have mine taken straight after the scan.

lol yeah I think they'll notice that the bloods are missing when they calculate it hehe but you could always try and just tell them they must have misplaced them somewhere lol

the dr said i dnt have to have the bloods unless my odds of downs are high on the scan... also i am going to have a 4d scan so pretty exciting hopefully baby will co - operate and we will see if its a boy or a girl

Hi Noni - you can have the NT scan without the bloods, but you get a more accurate risk factor calculation when the blood figures are included. Perhaps you could get them to do all the blood tests (incl this one) you need for a bit all in one hit, tell the pathology ppl you are a difficult bleeder and they will bring their best person out.

Good luck with the scan hopefully you find out which gender bub is :) Where are you getting your scan done? Just at nsw x-ray or somewhere else?

no i am getting it at sydney pregnancy and womens ultrasound service in windsor because my dr thinks they are better and will be more accurate and since hes got three little kids i trust hes gone through it all...
he even told me there is one place that bulk bills but its not very good this place will cost me around 60 dollars but its 4d, we can tape it and it will be more accurate so we are going with them...
i have to ring today to schedule an appointment but i assume it will be in a little under 4 weeks at the 12wk markish
