Hi
Hi everyone,
Just hoping to get some support and chat to other people in a similar situation. We have been ttc naturally for 4 years. We are due to start our first round of ICSI in January... Feeling anxious and really want to get started soon.
Thanks Rach

Hi Rach,
Welcome to BB! You'll receive bucket-loads of support here - everyone is amazing and someone will always be there to help with whatever you're going through - and someone will always understand :)
Come and join the LTTTC & AC thread here and have a chat to the ladies and gent there - you'll be welcomed!
I've just gone through my first round of IVF/ICSI in November and although it wasn't a success, I've felt wonderfully supported by everyone here, as well as receiving heaps of advice and wisdom from the people who have been going through AC for longer. I don't feel like such a newbie now, and I'm sure it won't be long before you will either!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas - I know the feeling of chomping at the bit ready to go, but once it starts it usually is pretty full on (certainly from my experience!) so enjoy Christmas and relax before it all starts! We'll be here for venting/advice etc. as you need :)
All the best,
Miss C

Hi Rach, and welcome to BB!
Saw your post in LTTC thread! I just happened to jump on when was having a panic attack! It happens at times! But the gals here are fab! I have also been on the IVF/ICSI band wagon. And going for round #2. My DH has dodgy swimmers and ironically I am now the one having troubles on the cycle, but I believe that is cause I have polycistic ovaries, so more of a chance of developing OHSS!
Glad you are excited to get started! Good to read up and get as much info before you start so that you really are across your cycle and informed! Its a rollercoaster journey and all the gals here are such a fantastic support network! I wish you all the best and success!
Feel free to check out my journal (click on link). You can even start your own or even a blog! Lots of things to get your really engrossed in TTC!
Mon :)

Hi Rach!
Does Rach81 by any chance mean that your name is Rachel & born in 1981? The reason I ask is because my name is actually Rachel & I was born in 1981! Anyway....welcome aboard. DH & I tried for 2 years naturally (up until Feb 07) & then went to see an Fs. We did our very first ICSI cycle last month due to DH having odd shaped swimmers. We have a bit in common huh?
Hope ur first ICSI cycle is ur last hun! If there is anything at all you need to know just drop me a PM or a post in my journal! All the gals in bb are just lovely so they would be very happy to help u out wherever they can too.
Cya!

Hey girls
Rara - yes I was born in June 81 and guess what my hubby has slow swimmers too! Hence the ICSI. And we may even be cycling together..I am going to be on the pill in January and hopefully transfer in Feb 08. Goodluck and I will be great to keep in touch through these forums - I'm loving it..
Mon - I was worried about you yesterday... I didn't know what to write to you but i wanted to send you a  How are things now???
I'll be hanging out on the Long term thread
Rach xxx;)

Thanks Rach! I just posted in LTTC thread! I hope that things go well with you! Its really exciting starting out! Make sure you have plenty of R&R before you start and you go in not too stressed and with a clear head! Expect the unexpected and know we will be here for you every step of the way! :)

There's a few of us in the same boat. I'm a 1981 boy and have abnormally shaped swimmers too!
Sadly, it always makes me feel a bit better when I am reminded of other blokes in the same boat as me.
-
Hey Rach! That would be awesum if we were both doing it together in Feb! Wooohoo!
Slyder - U are not alone at all mate! There is no shame in it whatsoever. My fs said that there has been an outrageous rise in men having abnormal swimmers over the past 10 yrs. They think it might perhaps be due to chemicals & plastics. Who knows...Another sign of the times we are living in I'm afraid. DH was a lil shocked at it at first but I wasn't shaken by it at all. This was certainly something that we can get around!
Good luck (I actually was going to write "Good luck sweeties"...but I don't know whether Slyder would have appreciated being called a sweetie...lol!).
Ciao xx
-
hi Rach, welcome & goodluck with TTC!
-
In my case I have a very good count, but over 96% are dodgy. But they did their job during IVF and we got 4 blastocysts so that's something.
Sweetie is fine, Rara. I've become part woman since joining BB :)
-
Lol! Congrats on the blasties! DH was exactly the same...his count was far & beyond the usual amount expected however almost 100% were not up to scratch in the shape department!
Sorry for crashing ur thread Rach! But it's always great to talk to some1 new!
Ciao xx

You guys are great!! BTW if I am posting at wierd hours it is cause I am working at the Casino and am on night shift at the moment...
Rara - yay!!
Slyder/sweetie - we only need 1 good one!!! Thar's our mantra at the moment and well done on blasties:dance:
Rachy - thanks - man ,we have a popular name don't we??? I had 3 in my class at school hence my child will have a unique but practical name!!
Mon- you are a sweetie thanks...
Love Rach

Don't forget the LTTTTC/AC thread. It's where we all chat and stuff. You guys should jump in. It'd be great to have a few of us in the same boat.
ETA: looks like Rach81 already found it :)
-
Rach81 - 4:30 in the morning...eeek. You poor thing! My best friend's husband works at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast & he tends to do very weird hours too!
Maybe we should start a "Rachel Support Thread"...haha. Well good luck hun! Will be watching ur journey very very closely!
Slyder - I think you may have a new nickname! Thanks for the offer to join the LTTTC thread I don't visit very often as I find it very difficult to keep up with everyone in there...it tends to go nuts at times!
Cya xx

I know what you mean Rara, I have enough difficulty keeping up.
-
Hey guys
do you ever have those days where you just feel so crappy??? Well I am having one today. I feel so overwhelmed, grumpy and over it!!! I just can't seem to snap out of it. Just want to cry all the time. Not a good sign considering I haven't even began treatment yet. I have just had AF so should be feeling good about now, but am not. Every little thing is really bothering me.
Sorry to dump, I know I don't know you guys that well yet but was wondering if you ever get the same way.
Rach:wall:
-
Dump away hun...we do it all the time...so don't worry we'll get u back...lol! Only joking.
I'm having those kind of days a bit too regularly lately. I haven't been coping very well since I got my BFN a few weeks ago. I've been pretty quiet about it all but it certainly has been bothering me quite a bit.
I just can't wait until Feb so we can go through ICSI together...and hopefully at the end of Feb we will not need to feel like this anymore.
Keep ur chin up hun & vent away whenever u feel u need 2.
xx
-
Thanks Rara, I just want it to be here already...
Christmas should be good, just hurry up Feb!!!
I am going to do my housework now -vent vent vent !:dunno:

Switch up the music nice and loud....and scrub...really really really hard..........that's what I like to do when I'm feeling crappy, frustrated or impatient!
There are at least 4 of us it looks like that will be beginning a new round of IVF/ICSI in Feb so it should be exciting! Woohooo!
-
hey there rach i to am starting in january well the pill that is lol..so we will be going through this together and i cant wait so i look foward to sharing my journey with you take care and bring on xmas i say and get it out of the way lol..
-
Hey Smithy, that is just awesome and I agree - bring it on!! Get over xmas and lets get to it! Let's make some embies and hopefully bubbies.... I think there is me, slyder (I think - not sure), Rara and yourself all going in Feb - Hooray!!! It will be great to be able to share our journeys' - good or bad...
Rara, thanks for your advice I took it! cleaned the house, vent etc had phantom of the opera up nice and loud (I teach dance and musical theatre is my passion!!)
I am feeling a bit better, but must be truthful and say that I am still a bit wound up for some reason. Poor DH is copping the lot!!! I really am trying to be myself but am struggling a bit. I think because I am normally such a chirpy person it is really noticable when I am feeling down. Also the late nights are doing my head in a bit at the moment - only because I have been getting broken sleep otherwise I am normally fine with the night shift.
Anyway enough about that - do you guys have any exciting news??
I am loving BB, thanks for chatting
Rach xxx
PS also sorry for excessive use of smilie thingys I just :heartbeat:them!

Haha...ur funny hun! I luved them 2 when I first came onto BB. They used to have them next to the quick reply screen so it was much easier b4!
Wow what a fun job u must have! Tho I do notice that u were on bb at 4 this morning! My body doesn't even know there is a 4am!!!!!
Well I was a happy kinda gal until DH & I began to get serious about this whole TTC thing! Now I have very up & down days. But hopeing I am going to be "down day free" very soon!
I love cleaning. It just makes me feel refreshed & ready to take on the world once again!
Must get back to work. Hope you are having a good day!
