We find out in a week!!! YAY!! Cannot wait!!!
Is anyone else finding out soon?
Not exactly soon- but i am hoping to know by 25th march, seems like forever away, i had my 13 week scan today, and she said so far its looking like a boy, but apparently at this stage they all look like boys!!! LOL
So unless for some reason i get a sneak peak before the morph scan on march 25th, thats when i will be finding out!!!
Good luck, do you have any "feelings" as to whats in there???
Hi Mia'smummy, my scan is at 8:30am tomorrow, so hopefully wont be long till i know the sex!!!!!
Mia'sMummy. Wow. I hope the week flies by.
We've got about 2 and a half weeks to wait for ours. I can't wait.
I think about the sex of the baby everyday. Lol.
gorgeous_lea, Good luck with your scan tomorrow. I hope the baby is healthy and growing perfectly. :D
Yes hopeing to find out off my ob on wednesday. If he can see but then im not allowed to tell anyone until DH can be with me at the 20 weeks scan...bugger. Dont know how Ill hold it in...lol
I found out at 16 weeks as I had an amnio & we are having a boy. Hope bubs co-operates for the scan so you can know what you are having.
Hi Mia'sMummy - Yes we are also finding out but not until our 20 week scan which is on 4 March. Good luck with your scan next week.
Mez
We don't have any feelings on what we're having....
I'd love a little girl, but I think DF wants a boy, we said two babies so whatever we get this time is fate and meant to be :D
I just want a healthy baby :)
The wait is absolutely killing me though!!!
gorgeous_lea - How did you go???:)
Good morning all.
I hope you don't mind me making this suggestion. I found out the sex of our wee one about a month ago and was given some wonderful advice from a close girlfriend only moments before we went in for the scan. She found out the sex of her baby in the Scan room and said although she was delighted, it was quite an anti-climax as she and her DP could not embrace/punch the air/cry etc. because they were in a Dr's office. With this in mind I asked the Sonographer to tell us when to turn away and instead write the sex on a piece of paper and put in an envelope. Straight after the scan my DH and I went and purchased a small bottle of champers to share (tsk tsk I know) and went to a special 'spot' dear to both of us on the river. We opened the envelope together (tears welling up for me even when I write this - damn hormones...) and found out our wonderful news in beautiful and special surroundings. We toasted our good fortune, cried and laughed and it was perfect. I would recommend this to all who are going to find out the sex. Just makes it more special and allows you to absorb the monumental event in private.
OH MY...
Thats just beautiful, gave me goosebumps...
We'll be doing that :)
I'm so pleased Mia's mum. Please come back to the thread and let us know the outcome. Do you have a preference?
I'd love two little girls.. Sometimes when we talk about the kids we say "the girls" accidentally..
But i'm not set on a girl, healthy is the main thing
I phoned my DF and told him the idea, he loved it... Thought is was alot less "medical" and alot more personal, that way we can open the envelope when we're ready and in our own comfortable space :)
Now I'm even more excited than before...
My step-sister did the sealed envelope thing too. I think it is a lot more special to not have the doctor tell you too.
My DH and I are having a tough time deciding whether to find out or not, so we have decided that 20 weeks is too early for us to have made a decision to find out or not. So we are going to do the same sealed envelope thing and tell them that "technically" we don't want to know so that it isn't on our file and we don't get told accidentally, and then we can make the decision together when we are ready. And if we decide not to find out the envelope will never get opened!
Mia'smummy, its a BOY!!!
DF was a little dissapointed as he wanted a girl, but were very happy now it has sunk in lol
Good luck with your scan next week!!!!!
That was a beautiful idea maybub, wish i had of read that before i went :(
CONGRATULATIONS Gorgeous Lea, fabulous news!!!
You've got a wedding coming up too - best of luck with all to come.
We (hopefully) find out on March 10!!!!!!!!!! 4 weeks (well 3 week 6 days but who is counting... :P)!!!!!
We are also doing a special thing for us... I am going to have the radiographer write it down, and Shel reads it first and then tells me. Just because throughout the pregnancy I'm always telling her whats going on and what's happening, I want her to be able to tell me something :) She loves this idea too!
gorgeous_lea... A BOY IS GREAT NEWS!!!
And a wedding, what a great year you will have :D
My first we decided not to find out and the 10 week wait killed us but was so worth the wait after the delivery... took all the pain away just curious to know what i had just pushed out..
This time my DP wanted to know early so we decided to find out at the 18 week scan- 3 scans later and the best they could tell us was 80% chance of a girl...
After having a DS i was thrilled but also still unsure of the acuracy.. Now i've had to wait not knoiwing 100% so have decided to have a 4d scan which is in 2 weeks... Just need to know for sure now...
A friend of ours was told 80% chance a boy didnt get it checked just took it as it was brought everything blue and woops a little girl popped out- they were so disapointed but delighted at the same time and all that stuff they had brought ARRRGGGHHH... Do not want that to happen to me...
Fingers crossed you find out 100%... me i'm hoping that in 2 weeks we can have our little girl confirmed for sure...
1 week today! Not that im counting!! I am so excited. I would love a girl, BUT if i have a boy i will be equally as happy!! Im not getting my hopes up for any sex atm, as when pg with Jett i thought he was a girl and turned out to be a boy (sono told me boy!!! grr).
So i will just wait and see, as long as bubba is happy and healthy thats all that i care about!!
(but a girl would be nice LOL) Just thinking pink pink and more pink!!
Congrats on all the boy pregnancies!
I have heard of a few couples being told the wrong sex only to be disappointed at the birth. My DP wanted to know what sex our baby is as its his first. I talked him around as i can remember how exciting it was when i had my daughter when they finally said its a girl after labour. I think the moment is very special and i am looking forward to the moment more than ever after going through all that pain it is a great surprise to share. I can see why many people find out but personally i am happy to wait even though i wonder every day whether i have a boy all girl growing inside of me. As long as its a healthy baby we will be happy.
Thanks maybub and mia'smummy, it's certainly going to be a year to remember:dance: I'm so busy and tired but it's all worth it :D
I don't think that they can ever really be 100% sure Jess so I personally am assuming I'm having a boy (I was told 90%) and if we have a girl we'll just hope she likes the colour blue - hehe.
I can't wait to know what my baby is, as well as everyone else in our families (first grandchild for both sides). Would also have loved to of waited till the end but for me financially it is easier to find out earlier.
scorpiomum: me too i have my scan next week, i have all fingers and toes crossed to find out but am not concerned if they can't tell me. I am hoping for a girl too, the ring test came up as a girl so it should be interesting to see if it works, good luck with your scan.:D
Only 3 sleeps to go..
Yeah, in mid march I'll be having my first ultrasound..we will find out if bubs doesn't hide. :D
2 weeks today for us (29th Feb)!! Cant wait to see!!
We found out with DS and were just so excited to know.. i know we will be this time round too!
Maybub- i realise i probably wont get a 100% but just to re-check will be better then just assuming the 80% is accurate.. If we take another peak and see well "nothing hanging inbetween we should bave it confirmed to 90% which is when i'll be buying up big on the pink stuff
I too am very excited about finding out what we are having. 4 more weeks left yet for me though ..... time is gonna go real slow
I have a 4D scan booked for the 20th March when I will be exactly 19 weeks. I am praying so hard that 'snooks' wont be camera shy and the sonographer will be able to get a clear view.
I forget who mentioned the 'sealed envelope' idea but that is very cool indeed. Might ask the place we are going if it is possible we can do it that way too :)
Hopefully we will have a nice sonographer lol
Have you found out yet Mia's Mummy??? Can't wait to hear.
When are you going for your confimation scan Jess?
Hi Maybub- yeah having a 4d scan on wednesday 27th- cannot wait.:dance:... so excited at seeing bubs again. hoping that the last scan was correct as i've gotten all worked up and excited about the possibility of having a little girl. Although as long as bubs is healthy then all is good but i'd be lying if i said i didnt want a girl... (not saying i wouldnt want a boy... so hard to put ot in words... happy either way... hehehe confusing anyone???)
Kept my first a secret and think that if i ever have a 3rd i will keep it a secret... once you get told but its not a definate then you spend more time thinking bout what you may have... but also being excited bout the gender they tell you but then being cautious bout maybe being wrong:wall:
But i guess only a week till we hopefully have confirmation and hopefully the 4d scan should be fairly acurate... fingers crossed:pray:
Only 6 more sleeps Jess, please let me know. I don't call in to our Belly Buddy room so much any more as I can't keep up. But if you don't get the chance to respond here I will call in to check. Thinking lots of 'Pink' thoughts for you. ;)
When we had our 20 wk scan (at 20.3 weeks) it seemed to be very clear that we were having a girl. They didn't give us a percentage, just said by the looks of these white lines, which is the labia, you are having a girl! We were both surprised as we were sure we were having a boy and it take take a full day to get use to it (which in itself made me feel very strange - that I should just be happy that the baby is healthy - but I couldn't help it!) but now its nice to be able to talk about our baby as "she"... :)
Good luck with your scan ladies.. not long now .... it is very exciting to find out - I was so excited when walking in for our scan.
Well we found out its a BOY!
He is healthy and happy in there... given the thumbs up!! woohoo!!
I will be protected with my 3 boys when i get older!!
Well todays the BIG day for me... My scan is at 1.30 and i havent slept (possiblt to anxious, but also in alot of pain, my back, tummy, pelvis, legs are all aching)
FIngers crossed bubs isnt camera shy today, have decided that as i'm paying for the 4d scan that i just wont leave until bubs opens legs and we get a peek... hehehe
Also guilted DP into comming shopping with me after we find out to pick up hopefully pick stuff... YAY:dance:
Scorpio- congrats on the baby boy...
Just so you know guys, most places won't write it down for you, the few in this thread have been extremely lucky. Generally they don't want to write it down & won't give a 100% answer because they could be wrong. With written proof of them saying "it's a girl (or boy)" they can be sued if it turns out to be wrong.... Just thought I'd warn you in case they say no.
Yeah, at our (private) hospital they won't even tell you what they think the sex is as a technician got it wrong once and the hospital was sued! Kind of spoils it for everyone else who wants to find out the sex. :(
It doesn't really worry us though as we are happy to wait until the birth the find out the sex of Beany.
Thanks SarahH. I didn't know that but I guess it does make sense. Although they could always write down the percentage rate too I guess.
Sarah - i think thats what they did with me - gave me a guess at what it could be, then said oh, but it could be the other one... like.. really?!?!! you don't say.. hey i could have made that guess myself!!!!!!
So we have to wait too
Good luck today Jess :-)
