RE babyproofing: We didnt baby proof for Jayden other than putting in the plugs for the power points, we won't for Ashlea either. Jayden knows not to go in the cupboards except for "his" cupboard that has his plastic cups, plates etc Oh and he goes in the pantry :rolleyes:

Well Reaghan is on the mend the last few nights she has gone back to sleeping 11hrs yeah. She has finnaly decided she likes some foods, the hienze chicken noddle and vegies.

with sm33 is it stronger then bonjella?
Bubbablue has been having a heap of troubles with the teething deal, and the bonjella doesn't seem to be working as well as it was. I am thinking of trying sm33.
Have you used it and was it more affective then bonjella??
Also they can get diarrhoea and stuff while teething, right?

Tenny.. i havent heard of sm33. I found the best thing for teething to be panadol tbh. Bonjella would wear off after an hour or so, panadol would keep them set for a few hours. And theres nothing wrong with panadol. Yep definately.. runny poos, constipation, nappy rash, fever you can call get with teething. Howd Hayden go today with his breaky? Great to hear he liked the banana!

Missy.. ow dear. Hmm maybe Callums kinda just realising that Liam is here to stay iykwim. Do you ever have one on one time with Callum? May be an idea?

Sweetpea.. great to hear Reaghan is on the mend.

Home day today. Keiras asleep, Jesse's playing outside with his sand and water table under the balcony cos its raining out. He loves it.
Me.. just organising or working out what im going to do for Keira's Naming Day cake. Yep im making it!! hehe.. so will be interesting!

Tenny - yes SM33 is much stronger than bonjella. SM33 actually has a numbing agent in there that the dentist uses so its much stronger.

A friend (chemist) once told me that bonjella is just useless crap really - and SM33 is the stuff you should be using.

Kell yes I have heaps of one on one time. Heaps lately in the pool and in bed some mornings. Watching dvds with him so its not that. I dont know why he did it.

Missy: Well done on going to the gym! I wish I had that motivation! The most I have done today was get the kids in the car to get McDonalds for lunch LOL. Poor Liam! Least that was the 1st time! Poor Ashlea is going to be a roughnut when she gets older, she'll have to be with her brother around! After I took the pics of the kids in their singlets I went to get a nappy from my room, I came back to find Jayden lifting and dragging Ashlea by her neck!! He got in so much trouble!!

Sweetpea: YAY for Raeghan sleeping 11hrs again! Great to hear she is getting better!

Tenny: Thanks hun! He seems to be ok now but once night sets in again he will be coughing again. I haven't heard of sm33 either, but it sounds great! Might have to find some and get it for Ashlea. Jayden used to get the runs with teething, then nappy rash an fever as well.

Kell: We had a heap of rain over the weekend, I did all my washing last night as it looked ok and of course it rained again this morning, its hot now so clothes should be dry again :rolleyes: What kind of cake are you doing? I have got into the baking lately for some reason, I can't wait for Jayden's bday....I think I'll do a dinosaur cake for him.

Can't get into the Dr's until tomorrow, they must be really busy because usually as soon as I say Jayden's name they are squeezing him in. He is driving me nuts today with annoying Ashlea, whinging, wee'ed on his floor in his room 2 mins after I asked if he wanted to go to the toilet :doh: I was feeding Ashlea so I couldn't do anything about it. I have no motivation to do anything....I'm so tired!!

Yesterday one of my niece's were here and her Jayden and Chris were watching a movie (Chris was asleep really) I was on the computer, then Chris got up to get Jayden something to eat and I heard him saying to Jayden...."Your mum is just lazy, I don't know why she is so lazy, she just is" WTF!!!! The kitchen still had dishes in the sink cause we had been out all day on Sunday didn't get home til late and I hadn't done it 1st thing in the morning! Who cares, I never (well rarely) leave dishes on the sink. I was so angry at him but the only reason he had a problem was because I was on the computer! I said he was the lazy one because he had been on the couch sleeping for the past hour or more.

Missy.. no i mean do you ever take him out just you 2. Even if its just up to the shops, but without Liam. It may be hard though if you dont have someone to look after Liam at the time though.

Tan.. aww hun :hug: Hmm yeh why couldnt he get off his butt and do the dishes if it bothered him that much. Youre allowed to have a break too, you definately deserve it. Im making a heart shaped cake with fondant icing over it.. will also make a bear to go on top and also blocks that spell out her name. Im pretty confident with it. Will just be a chocolate cake but it will be a double layer with chocolate icing in the middle so that its a tall cake.

I couldn't find any SM33. I was kinda annoyed at that. I looked at both Chemists here and nothing. Where do you get it from, Mel???
I got a different one to try though. It's called Sedagel. I'm not sure if it'll do any better then the bonjella but it's worth a shot for my poor little mite. It's those big teeth at the top at the front mostly, I think. I just want to help him anyway I can, I'll try anything. lol.

Yeah, he's got the runs and it's making his little bum all red, even had a few little blood spots where it opened the skin a little bit. I've just been using Lucas' Paw Paw cream on it and it seems to be helping.
Any other ideas to help with that? I'm open for any suggestions.
This is the first time I've had anything like this. DS1 never got it this bad so it's all new to me.

Anyways, feeling like complete grossness. :(

Tenny - you could try some moogoo cream - that works a charm in this house. And I've always gotten the SM33 from the chemist - behind the counter though usually

Tannis - yep, that sounds like my house at the moment! I'm so mad with DH - for some reason all of a sudden he expects me to do everything. Like if he's looking after the baby and I'm having some 'me' time he'll call me in to say things like "can you get the bottle" or "does she need her nappy changed?" or worse, "we've run out of coffee". Aghhh. I feel your pain.

Mel - o.k., so now i'm super intrigued by your signature!!! sure thing - would love to catch up with you when you come to Brissie. I'm going to go to the BB Breakfast thingy that's organised for early Feb so maybe I'll see you there?

Hey folks
hope you all had a good weekend..... ours was good, very busy, and i don't know, just had annoying things going on which got on my nerves. For example, the Bear went up to Mangrove Mountain on Sunday, I thought great, I will go check out baby warehouse with Beth. But the Bear had taken my keys and I didn't know where the spare was so I was stuck without even a stroller, which was in the car. Called the Bear, no reception. Finally found the spare key and got ready to go out, and then the Bear called, his iphone is crapping out so he gets cut off every 30 seconds so he has literally called me about 100 times in the space of half an hour or so, in the meantime, I am wrangling Beth, and driving etc and trying to have a conversation, while not getting booked for talking on a mobile while driving. Yesterday we spent the entire day cooking, we had 10 people round for dinner so it was big even though it was only my folks and the Bear's parents. Thank god for my stepmother doing most of the dishes, otherwise today would have been a lot worse. This afternoon I was trying to make cauliflower soup, and Beth was being seriously velcro, which is really not like her. Anyhoo, I had to stop once when she had a nappy so bad it required a bath, and then later when I tried to start cooking again, she was cracking it so I picked her up, and she went quiet and the next thing I notice I'm covered in puke! Yeah so a bit over it really.
On the up side I took Beth to the library today and she liked playing with the toys in the kids' section and met some other nice babies!
Mel, new car huh? let us know what you get...
Majella I can't say anything bad about my DH cause he posts on this thread PMSL and of course he's perfect :lol:

Tenny: paw paw cream is really good, we also use bepanthen. Jayden has also used Dermaid but not sure if you can use it on a 6mth old as its steroid cream.

Mel: I think so!

Majella: Chris rarely looks after Ash but if he does he's calling out to me every 5 mins asking if I'm ready for her....he's NEVER changed her nappy.

Pix: :hug: What a horrible day! I know all about velco baby...growth spurt I think. Ash was up at 3.30am for a feed.

I forgot to mention Sat night we went to Sizzler for dinner with nearly the whole family, Jayden started coughing after he had eaten and then was sick, luckily I had anticipated it and had a heap of serviettes to catch it, then the girl who was looking after our table took it to throw it out, no gloves or anything....she was only 16-17, any of my niece's that age wouldn't have gone near it!!

We have Ashlea's 6mth checkup tomorrow, can't wait to see what she weighs now, and needles on Fri. I was going to ask something, but I can't remember.....:dunno: might think of it later

Kell - Brekky went today. He ate heaps more then he did the other day. He slept through brekky yesterday cause he hardly slept that night. Lol. Your cake sounds great. I can't wait to see photos.

Tan - I wasn't sure whether Bepanthan would be alright when it had broken skin and a teeny bit of blood. The pawpaw is working it's usual wonders though. YAY! Good luck with the appt tomorrow. I'm always wondering what my monster chubba weighs. Lol. We've got needles next week. I hope Jayden is better.

Pixie - It was fantastic to see her. Went out to lunch with her yesterday and saw all her photos and hear all the stories & gossip that went on cause she went with a friend. She sounds like she had an awesome time!! Thank you for asking. :hug: I've had a velco baby too.. he doesn't want me out of his site and I have to be the one holding him. DP was getting annoyed and upset cause Haydie just wanted to be with me and not him. I'm hoping it's just the teeth thing. I hope Beth is better today. It's extra sucky when it's so hot and they just want to be held the whole day.

Feeling extra gross today. Sick feeling and sore throat, and achy muscles. It's gross. Ontop of that another restless night with the boy. The teeth are close so I'm hoping once they cut we'll get some decent rest. One is on the verge, like where I'm not quite sure if it's through or not. DP stayed home to help me today cause I'm so exhausted and all that jazz aswell as trying to fight whatever I've got.. and it's too damn hot to sleep today too. :P
DS1 starts school tomorrow. I'm doing ok with it. I think it's cause I know what the school is like, since I went there, I know the teachers and they know me. It's kinda making it a bit easier. I was a mess last year at just one day a week going to preschool, but I'll blame it on the pg hormones. :lol:

Evening all,

Well we have had a few sleepless nights in this household. I really don't know why Izzy is waking so often during the night. Cause of the extreme heat we are having this week we have moved her cot in our room as it's a lot cooler in there for some reason. We'll see how she goes tonight so far she has been a nightmare trying to get her to sleep.

Tonight we filled the baby pool we bought her for Chrissy and we all sat in it, gee it was lovely and Izzy just loved it!

Mel - yep you'll all have to wait until April to hear any news my way lol

Tenny: Bepanthen should be ok still, but if the paw paw cream is working I'd use that as its natural.

Jayden has been put on asthma meds now, its looking like he has asthma (we have a strong family history). I have thought it for a while now but keep forgetting to mention it to the Dr :doh: (although I thought the Dr might have mentioned it to me :rolleyes: After I got all his meds ($65 later) he was in the carpark with my 2 nieces and he tripped over and his teeth went into his bottom lip, there was blood everywhere! Including my nice white car LOL. He is ok but he had 2 little blisters and a bruise on his bottom lip.

Ashlea's checkup was good her stats are now...
Weight: 6.92 (+500g from 4mth check)
Length: 64cm (+2.5cm from 4mth check)
HC: 42.5cm (+0.8cm from 4mth check)
We are going to start solids in the next day or so which might settle her more at night, although I would say its more that she is having a growth spurt and wanting more feeds. Ashlea decided to feed herself her 1st solids yesterday...A nice green blade of grass! She seemed to like it LOL. When I say to her where's mummy, she leans over to me, I thought it was coincidence but she has done it a few times and didn't do it when I said where's daddy or Jayden (they weren't there). She has also twice now said what very much sounds like mummy....not sure so I will keep listening. Jayden said mummy early like 6 or 7mths so it could be.

Oh I just read about that poor little girl that got thrown off the bridge! How terrible! Does anyone know if the other kids were in the car? How could someone do such a thing? I can't believe there are people like that in this world!

I feel kinda bad thinking how hot it is here today, nothing like Melb or Adelaide! Hope you girls are keeping cool!

Well off to clean up a bit before Chris gets home, we are both picking Jayden up today. Oh speaking of him not doing dished as its my job. He had half mowed the backyard the other day and I got annoyed that it was only half done so I got the mower out and finished it myself! It was fun (won't tell him that though!) Jayden thought it was funny me mowing, I haven't done it in years!

Well we lost our electricity today for an hour it was horrible we had to put Izzy in the bath to cool her down poor darling.

I can't handle this extreme weather it's horrible even the air-con isn't working as well as I'd like and it doesn't look like it's going to cool down any day soon...

Tannis - How horrible about the 4 year old, yes the other 2 boys were in the car and saw it done, the father has been charged with murder.

I realy feel for you melbourne girls, it must be so hot there at the moment. It got to about 38 here in the ACT so not as bad.

We went to the pool today, all shaded etc, Reaghan loved it but was so exhausted, she is asleep at the moment. She is growing to quickly, 1 week till she is 7 months. She has started to eat one meal a day now, at about 1030 in the morn which suits me.

Hope you all can stay cool and that bubs sleep for you all.

Tan - Great stats Ash has! I hope starting solids goes great. Sorry to hear Jayden has asthma. Poor little man falling over. There is always so much blood when it's from the mouth, but they heal fast, thank god. I hope it's not hurting him too much.
Go Ash with saying Mummy. That's FANTASTIC!! I'm so excited. I don't even remember when Elijah first spoke. I do remember he said mum though. Hehehe.

Missy - I hope Callum's party goes great. Is it for any special occasion?

Sweetpea - What is your DD having for the 1 meal so far?

As for us:
Elijah started school today. He went fine and didn't want to leave.
I tried my hardest and was fine up until I had to leave then I shed a few tears. He didn't see though. They go from 9 till 1:30 for the first couple of weeks. I'm so proud of him though. He looked so smart and grown up in his uniform too.

I've been a bit off with the fairies today, then really moody this afternoon and EVERYTHING annoyed me more then it usually would. :rolleyes:
It got to mid 30's here today. It's hot, I know. Our house stays cool until about midday then kinda heats up a bit, but we get a breeze so it's ok. As you already know I feel like bad for Bubbablue cause we don't have a/c. We have fans going and I do other things to keep cool too, you know the drill I'm sure..
But I'm sick and tired of my dad coming over here and complaining about the heat and/or making comments like "it's hot here. It's just perfect 'round home." GRRRRRRRR
He says it everytime he's here lately. It's not like we invited him around either so it's not like he HAD to leave his a/c house. He doesn't listen when I snap back either, but tonight I said it anyways.. I'm like "We'll get one, one day and If your buddy didn't rip us off and double the original quote for the paint and paint over stickers, then we would have one already."
(I'm not sure if I told you all before we got the house quoted for a paint job before we moved in. A good friend of my dad. He was giving us a great deal. He didn't rush either and we didn't expect him to since it was a 'mates rates' type thing. He never updated us on the price or anything throughout even though he'd know it was going to cost more, I'm sure. Then at the end he's like doubled the original quote after he'd done it all. He didn't even give us an option whether we wanted him to do things to make it over the original amount. Then there were patches he's missed and parts that only have one coat. He's also painted over stickers on the ceilings in not 1, but 2 rooms. We should have gotten it as a written thing but we know him too and he's doing everything with my dad so we didn't think he'd rip us off. Everytime I hear his name it makes me so so mad. )

Back on with my dad.. He's always complaining about things and making little comments here and there. I already know I'm not as good as "the golden child" so stfu and move on. I'm sick of it.

Sorry about my rant. Also sorry if it doesn't make sense. Again I'm not fully with it.

I'm glad as soon as the sun goes down here it cools down. I hope you girls in Melb get a break with the heat soon. :hug:

Oh Tenny I was just thinking today Elijah must be starting school this week! That is fantastic he liked it! I can't imagine what I'll be like when Jayden goes! OMG about your Dad's mate! I would be fuming too! I would make him come back and fix his dodgy work or make sure ppl know he's dodgy! Its frustating when ppl come to your house and complain huh? We have had that too but because it was cold and this was someone from Melb! You'd think they'd be used to it :rolleyes:
Jayden's lip looks awful! When he shows ppl he pouts his lip and sooks a little saying it hurts, I don't think it does though....he brushed his toothbrush over it this morning which didn't hurt him. Not really sure if Ash said mummy or not, CHN shot me down today when I told her and said that Ashlea probably wasn't referring to me but just making a sound....that could be but the way she said it!

Missy: Ooo I missed your post earlier, how come Callum's having a party? How fun!

Mez: Oh no having no power on a day like today!!! That is awful! Glad its back on now, has the temp dropped much? I could never handle Melb weather, the cold was too cold and the heat was too hot and suffocating.....And I had lived there all my life!

Sweetpea: Poor Reaghan getting exhausted! Pools are great for that though, if I need Jayden to sleep early at night we go swimming during the day. How does Reaghan like the water? 7mths!! Time goes way too quick! Is she the last baby for you? I'm sad Ashlea is already 6mths old as she will be my last (planned baby ;)).

Not much to update for us since my last post a few hours ago hehe, we had hungry jacks for dinner....I know you are all dying to know that :ROFL: I'm a bit bored.......got HEAPS to do, I just don't want to do it haha I should feed Ash and go to sleep. Hope you are all coping with the heat around Aus at the moment.

Tannis: Reaghan loves the water, she had a ball. Yes she is the last for us with 7 children in total between dh and I this is it. Reaghan was an ours, so there are his her and ours. And there will be no accident ones dh had the snip when Reaghan was 8 weeks old, we got the all clear that it worked 2 weeks ago.

Tennykins: Reaghan usual eats around 1030 in the morn and is eating jarred food at the moment as she only eats around a 3rd of a jar, but the vegies and meat and some times fruit ones. Thats a shocker about the painter to.

Tan.. aww poor Jayden with his coughing and being sick. Keiras one like that. When she gags on her food if its too lumpy or whatever if she coughs enough she brings it all back up. Joy for me. But yeh yuck for that girl lol. Mmmmm hungry Jacks lol. We had maccas last night. mmm yummy grass!

Oh Keira says mum mum mum too lol. Shes been saying it for a few weeks. yay i get to claim that as her first words! Prob cos she hears Jesse say it all day! Shes also been saying bub bub bub.. funny, we also say that to her so maybe shes picking up on what she hears.

Tenny.. how's Elijah's first day go? Oh how rude of your dad's mate. I just wouldnt have paid him and said stuff you. But yeh tell your dad if he wants you to have air con then he can go buy you one.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Callum!!!!

I didn't know it was Callum's birthday. Now I feel like an idiot for asking if the party was for a special ocassion. I'm sorry. :redface:

Tan - Yeah, It annoys me when people are just constant complaining about anything and everything. I still think it's exciting that it sounds like Mummy. YAY! Stuff what anyone else says. Woohoo. We just get different noise as if he's tryna join in the convo. Sometimes he gets on the "ma ma ma" or "mmmm Mmmm Mmmm" noises.

Sweetpea - Sounds good with the food. We've been introducing brekky back in most days depends if he's sleeping through it though. He has dinner each night though, so he has a constant one meal per day. He just has vegies and then maybe some fresh fruit afterwards.

Kell - His first day was greattttttt. I was a bit worried he wouldn't listen but so far it seems like he is, so that's a positive start. He didn't want to leave yesterday when I went to get him at 1:30. Lol. Today I was fine, and he was fine too. He didn't even say goodbye to me, he just went off and asked to play the computers. I had to go get the kiss and cuddle myself. I knew I'd be fine today.. it was just the first step acknowledging that he is growing up and he doesn't need me that much anymore, IYKWIM. It's bittersweet in a way.

Pix & Kell - I loved Jon & Kate Plus 8 too. I don't have paytv anymore, yet, so I miss it.

We had a shocking night last night. I reckon I only got about 3hrs sleep and that was on the lounge with Bubbablue so he'd sleep. He was so restless and just wouldn't go to sleep. We're thinking it's the dreaded little toothie pegs.
DP thinks he's got a heap coming all at once, not including the top 2 front ones. :dunno:
Other then that he's been pretty good. He's asleep now, thank god. I should be having a sleep myself. :lol:
DP also reckons it won't be long before he starts crawling cause he's always got his bum in the air and stuff even sleeps like that, but I think it'll be a while off still. :pray:

Hello all just had a big post freeze on me ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh here we go again.

Evap air con here is still hot 44 outsode 32 inside!!! DS coping better than i expected so thats great, have been rubbing him over with wet washer and leaving it on him (see facebook for pics)

We had maccas list night also.
