I'll wait and see what I can find at spotlight, but I might take you up on that offer if I can't find what I need.

I just posted a link on FB, the cutest little bear christmas tree decorations! Ok, so I know bears aren't exactly Christmassy, but they are so cute! Have some christmas fabric leftover from DD's christmas pinny so I thought about making one (I've made little bears in the past and have a pattern I could use)...then thought no don't go adding anymore to my to do list!! Maybe if I have time after I've finished everything else I will, or try and remember for next year!

I cut out two more bags the other day and am about halfway through sewing them up. I've been a bit more adventurous and am adding pockets to them now. Lol. SIL put in a request for a hot pink & black bag so will have to get some fabric before I can do that (I guess at least I know she's going to like her present!). Don't know if I can justify another trip to Spotlight in Wagga, but might check out the little fabric store here, although it's expensive, and another small store in a little town about 15 mins away.

it's a shame Spotlight doesn't have an online store for fabric! SS, I'd love to see those little bears! Could you PM me a link? Please?

    Done

I know!! Our Spotlight is an hour away, so it's a bit silly to drive all that way just to go fabric shopping, especially when I've been there twice in the last couple of weeks (if only SIL had told me sooner!).

    thanks so much SS!

Does SIL live closer to a spotlight? Maybe she could pick up the fabric and express post it to you? Then you know she's going to get the material she likes too!

I think there's one in Penrith and she's in the Windsor area, so probably. If I can't find any here I'll have to ask her to go and get some. Never even thought of that, so thankyou!

I started DD's Santa Sack today! It's looking good already I must say, LOL. I just have to get some stuff to decorate it though. I wanted to put an Angel on there or something but couldn't find anything at spotlight so I think I'll have to try and do it myself out of felt or something, eek.

Also bought a rotary cutter when I was there and it has made it SO much easier!! I am shockingly terrible at cutting in a straight line with scissors so this is awesome to use!

yay Heaven! I love my rotary cutter although they take a bit of practise!! Could you applique the angel in another fabric?? Relatively easy to do if you use similar fabric weight.

Yeah, haven't decided what to do it out of yet. Found some ok pics online just now, or maybe I'll try draw it myself. Or maybe that's a bad idea, lol.

Oh Thank You! Great idea! Hopefully I can go this week!
Reckon I need to wait to sew the whole bag up til after I've put them on? It will probably be easier if I did, lol, but I'm so impatient I want to see what it looks like and want to finish it now before I've put the stuff on the front.

    Everyone's projects look really good.

Heaven- It would be alot easier to sew them on before you do the bag because it's a flat piece but, it shouldn't be too bad if you are hand sewing them on

Olive what a fantastic idea!!! I would never have thought to look at felt decorations. I'm kids free tomorrow (WooHoo!!) so I might duck over and have a look.
I'm starting to rethink the kids sacks. At the moment their sacs are going to be 500 x 800. The front is half red/green (red - DD & green - DS) and the other half is a panel of santa faces and presents on a red base. On the plain colour their name is going to be written in gold and I have an iron on Christmas tree. The back is the same block cover. What do you think???
