    Overlockers

    Hi!

I've ventured in here in the hope that someone might possibly be able to shed some light on the different brands of overlockers. I've googled and I just don't really know which is the best one to get ... so basically, which brands have you ladies had success with, which ones are dismal stay-the-heck-away-from brands etc

I have tried using the zig zag hemming type stitch on my sewing machine but it's just not the same, so I really want a good overlocker (and my lovely DP says "which one, I'll get it for you" or "well why don't you get one then" whenever I mention it! )

So any advice would be very muchly appreciated!

    Thanks

I've got a Janome MyLock, and I think the one I have is the simplest/cheapest one, but it does great for my (wonky) purposes.

just to confuse you i am going to say something different to nelle,

my parents use to own a patchwork and sewing machine shop so this is what i know...

babylock - the best of the best but expensive......(my mum has two)

husqvarna/viking - next most expensive but great (this is what i have but still wish i had a babylock)

singer - same price as janome but better if you ask me.

janome - have had far too many friends unhappy with theirs and same with their sewing machines.

Get a 4 thread, some people still try to sell these , they are cheaper but are not as nice a finish. try to get one that has a 2nd plate for rolled hems, these are good for some clothes sewing...

PM me if you wan to know more
