    Finishing off my quilt HELP!!!

O.k i have put together the whole quilt probably not all done int he order everyone else may have done it in tho lol dont do instructions well

Its white and cream with antique lace on it. Its 3 squares antique lace then 1 lace 1 white then back to 3 squares antique lace. The lace has cream backing. This is a panel and its quite big. There is 4 of these panels sewn together. The lace has a large flower design and the white has a embroided pattern in the fabric fancy stuff.

So now the quilt is together i have the intention of when bub is born to sew around out side in fancy stitch work with bubs name birth date and weight and so on.

as for the quilt how should i finish it off any idea's? what type of pattern?

    Bump to you too!

Can you post a pic or two of the squares you've already done? I can't quite get the pattern in my head. I'm not a sewing person (can't put "sewer" can I? lol), but I can help on the layout. Wish I was a sewing person though.

OKay, for the backing, how about sewing a similar floral pattern, or even just swirls- a thin piece of wadding between two pieces of cotton (or your preferred fabric) and then sewing the patterns. This would give a 3-d look and feel to the back. Does that make sense? Maybe a sewing guru could tell you how to do that properly. If you don't know what I mean, my MIL made a baby quilt for Steph that I am pretty sure has this on the back, and I can take a pic of that and email you.

I have to go out now, but I'll think about it some more.

Great work by the way, that's fantastic! I'm very jealous.

i was thinking of sewing around the leafs on the front of the quilt and this obviously would come trough on the back too with the flower design. And on the white patches i am gonna do a double star i was thinking but unsure hrmmm.

    thanks for your advice
