Just finished my first patchwork quilt :) so proud!

Im so happy i have to share!
I have just finished my first patchwork quilt! im so proud of it and so happy i finished it!

I started it last year when i was pregnant (i was so sick and stuck at home) so my lovely mum told me I needed a "Pregnancy Project" and to make a quilt! I chose one out of her book and got to work. Didnt think id need a cutter and mat, so there i was for hours and hours tracing around a peice of cardboard onto the fabric, took ages!!!!!!!!!!! 720 triangles...omg...my hand were soo sore from the scissors!

Anyway just got it back from being professionally quilted, got the most lovely pattern on it! Mum and I have just spent the morning binding it and its done!

Is it for Freya? You must be so proud of yourself, and well you should.

I'm in the middle of one for my DD, first one for me too.

Its massive lol like king size! Mum made Freya a little one for her cot for my baby shower pressie. Id like to make her one tho, one with pinks

next project!

I would so love to see it! Well done on donig somehting so rewarding!!!!
I have just gotten the nerve up to start a strip quilt (eg quilt made the width of fabric cut into strips)....its doing my head in but im loving it.
