    Making bags

Ok so for christmas I decided to make my twin neices and my 2 boys a crafty pack consisting of...

    textas
    pencils
    colouring books
    and plain paper

How ever I can't seem to find a carry bag sutiably big wnough to put it all in and have extra room for anything else they would like to take with them.

So I'm going to make them.

Does anyone have any suggestions on sizing, materials, decorations to put on theses bags

OK then LOL. I was going to suggest that you just make a square bag slightly bigger than the books/paper you were going to buy - just a simple one where you get the fabric, fold it, then cut out the size along 3 sides (leaving the fold) then get some PVC plastic from spotlight and cut 2 of these the same size as the unfolded fabric and then sandwich the fabric inside the PVC and then hem the two edges of the opening, then fold in half and sew up each side. You could also add to the fabric before you sew it, fabric letters to spell their names and then get some iron on backing and iron them onto the fabric. To make handles, get some of the fabric and make another 'sandwich' with the PVC and then sew them onto the bag. The PVC means that it can be wiped out if you get a leaky texta/paints and it also wont stain the fabric.

I always get my lot new pens, textas, rulers, sharpeners, erasers etc for school the next year... I just put it all into a cool library bag, and then they use that too!!!
