    renting an overlocker???

    Hi,
This might be a very silly question.
I'm thinking of making some inserts for pocket nappies and also some bamboo terry flats. Of course I can just use the zig zag stitch on the edges, but I was thinking an overlocker would be easier. I don't have one, though. Do you know if they can be hired/borrowed??? If so, what kind of place would do that? Do you know of anywhere on the Gold Coast?

    Thanks.
    Sasa

I would suggest going to your local sewing store who specialise in sewing machines and overlockers (not Spotlight or other fabric stores). They should be able to tell you if the overlockers are available for hire.

I've not heard of overlocker hire but never say never I second what Courtney says and try a smaller local sewing store. They may do lessons and let you use their machine which is almost the same just you can't take it home.

I did a course at Spotlight and we used their sewing machines and overlockers. You weren't able to take them home, though. If you were interested in doing a course, you could bring your boosters along and do them while you were there.

If you were near me, you could come do them at my place!

You're lucky Kate! My local s/l doesn't do any kind of lessons anymore
