    Needlework Group or Meetup?

Has anyone ever participated in a Needlework group? I've recently heard of a place in Fitzroy called The Brown Owl (I think) where people meetup and stitch etc over a coffee.

Does this idea appeal to anyone? Would you prefer to go during the day or evening? Would you go once a week/fortnight or month?

I guess I'm wondering if it's worth having one at my place or venturing out...

I am cross stitching ATM which is portable... I think it would be even more fun to sit around and have a chin wag with my BB friends while stitching... or is this a bit of an outdated idea of fun??? LOL

I have been to "stitch and B!tches" before. These were for our medieval group so we could get together and get stuck into our various projects. I would find cross stitch hard to do with company, I would get lost trying to follow the pattern. I found blackwork great to do in company, as once I had the pattern down pat I could do it easily whilst talking. The same with the repetitive decorative stitches on clothing.

Would love to say that I would join you, but I am too far away Can join you in spirit though.

Yep, I know what you're saying about doing cross stitch in a group setting... but it would be do-able if it was a "plain/easy bit"... like right now I am up to a bit where I just have to fill-in an area of the same colour... impossible to make a mistake... but about an hours worth of stitching.

My friend's just invited me to a "stitch'n'*****" monthly get-together!

I'd be up for a monthly do, but I'd be bringing crotchet or knitting.
