yes, mine is based on it. Mine aren't reversable (just lined) and Ive changed the straps but honestly, I can follow a pattern for quids but this man...it was very easy to do

I haven't had time to make it yet, but it is one of the easiest patterns I have ever seen. It really is very simple and perfect for beginning sewers. It's even easier if you don't do it as a reversible dress. You could get one done in under an hour I reckon

I made it!! Took me a while to figure out how to put the straps on (had a mummy moment I think...lol). I made it reversible, but it won't be used on the reverse side because it's just white cotton..thought it would look better if it was lined with something. There was probably an easier way to do it..lol. My hemming skills also leave a lot to be desired, but I think it looks pretty good.
And she matches the new bag I made

Mind you i didnt get any patterns im just trying to cut one out of an existing dress. Will that work ladies? Ie if i cut 10cms around an existing pinny?

I went to spotlight and was looking at the patterns but each one costed over $15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WT!

10 cms?? Did you mean 1 for a seam allowance? Yep I have tried doing that before and it works ok. You do need to allow for seams all the way around and you need to make sure it is lying really flat when tracing! Good luck!

Lol. I bought some christmas fabric in Spotlight today so will make her one to wear in December. Need to get some plain red or green fabric for the straps though, I think it will look nicer.

I've got a few of the heidi+finn patterns (they have an etsy store) - my favourite pattern so far is a raglan sleeved, elastic cased neck tunic dress (here's a link to one I've done). I've made it even easier by making it with rolled hems on the overlocker - I can do them pretty quickly now. They make a great beginner pattern. I've also got two of the mana mini patterns but haven't tried them yet, and just bought an oliver + s pinafore and a tunic pattern - both of which will be my 'challenges' as they are a lot more complicated than anything else I've sewn - the pinnie has a lined and edged bodice and princess seams in the skirt.

Suse that is gorgeous! I loves all the o & s stuff. You girls should google ottobre magazine. Amazing Euro patterns for boys and girls about 40 of them in each issue for around $25! Bargain!

Thanks Tan! I've got one of the Ottobre books, and the women's tee-shirt pattern which I'm in the process of cutting out, haven't made it yet - and the patterns are very well designed, and the instructions very clear. I'm looking forward to attempting the o + s stuff, it's much more challenging than anything else I've done so far. I'd say that the Ottobre stuff is on a par with o + s patterns.
