    Book club?

    Hi ladies
Is there a book that is currently being read for the book club?
Is there still a book club happening??

Good question - currently there is no book but if there is enough interest we could probably start it up again
Do you have a book in mind?

    Hi Dach
No I don't have a book in mind, something crime / thriller would be great if there is enough interest on that subject...otherwise I'm open to anything really.
Lets see if we can drum up some interest and get this started!!

I am currently reading 19 minutes but would also be willing to discuss any other book.

I'll hang-around. Don't get much time for reading lately, hopelessly bussy. But I am intressted!! Hopefully you'll talk me into starting to read again - please do!!!
BTW I adore Jodi Picoults books. I read her My Sister's Keeper and can't get the story out of my head. It made real impact on me. I read (LOVE) crime/thrillers, am not really into any romance novels and biografies, but if written well I might just give it a try.

For those who liked 19 minutes, check out We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver.
I might be up for book clubbery - could we complile a list of books, do one a month (or more often) and then folk could dip in and out depending if they have/got/fancied the book and how much time they have?

ok I love to read even though if I get to into a book I'm not a nice person to be around until I have read it all lol as I have to read it so fast then I alway have to go back and read it again. I loved my sisters keeper made cry like a baby but for me thats not hard as I alway cry ( even when watching neighbours and home and away ) so are we going to start with 19 minutes if so I will try and go out a buy it this week.

I'm about a third of the way through 19 minutes and am still happy to discuss it! I think Jodi Picoult is a wonderful writer. I've also read My Sisters Keeper, The Tenth Circle and The Pact. The Pact was such a good book that I read it in a few days whilst on honeymoon!

Bec - I suggested We Need To Talk About Kevin to someone else who loved 19 minutes in another thread!!!!
    I just loved it!!!

Girls, I am happy to read anything & discuss it - How do we make the decision what we are reading, when do we start, do we do it monthly, etc???

I'm happy to offer some advice - I'm in a few bookclubs.

Basically we all nominate a book or 2 so we have a list, and then decide which book from there.

We usually give it a month if its average size (approx 300 - 500 pages), and then discuss it, and choose the next one & go again!!!

It seems like 19 minutes sounds popular on here - I'm happy to read anything!
Even if we choose a book thats terrible, its always a good discussion!!!!!
