Right now, nothing. Stalking the thread for suggestions, but considering picking up my old faithful Lord of the Rings again - been a year or 2 since the last time I read them.
Read the Tomorrow series as a kid, loved them and still do - movie was ok but the books are way better.

Now reading "Some of my friends have tails" by Sara Henderson. I read it years ago, it's just a gorgeous book for animal lovers.
I'm reading "The lost symbol" By Dan Brown.
Just finished Expecting Adam by Marth Beck.
It's a true story written by a mother who found out she was expecting a Downs Syndrome baby in the late 80s.
I enjoyed it mostly but I do find it hard to read books that go back and forth through time :D The reactions she experienced from people were sad but all in all it was a very touching read.

Are you enjoying it.. 3rd book into the series of 10 (i think) and I love it.. Very addictive...
I've just whipped through Corinne Grant's book, Lessons in letting go: Confessions of a hoarder. It was a fantastic read, quite excruciating at times but so interesting.
I've got a couple going at the moment: The winter of our disconnect by Susan Maushart. She's the chick who writes for The Age and The Australian, she decided to unplug herself and her entire family from their technology (including tv) for six months, and got a book out it. Very thought provoking.
Also, just got my hands on a copy of Diana Wynne Jones' Enchanted Glass. The author has lung cancer so I'm not sure how many more of her novels I"ll get to enjoy :(. And my copy of Bryce Courtenay's Power of One has just come in at the Library. I read April Fools Day a couple of weeks ago and it's made me really curious about the autobiographical elements in his very first novel.

I love Martha Beck, I've read the book about her growing up as the daughter of a high ranking Mormon official in Utah, and then going her seperate way. So interesting. I've never been able to get my hands on a copy of Expecting Adam, but have wanted to read it for ages.:
ETA - Sarah, don't be afraid to stroll up to the information desk at the library and ask them to give you some reading recommendations. They will be able to point out the the true story area (often they keep them all together in one area).

What is it about? Aboriginal deaths in custody, in particular that of Cameron Doomadgee and the resulting court case involving the police officer Chris Hurley.
Are you enjoying it? I am actually, as horrible as the situation/story is, it's quite informative, easy to read and so far (I'm only a 3rd of the way through) seems to have no bias.
Don't have recommendations - not overly interested in crime stories:
... but the true stories are usually called biographies (or autobiographies) and they're usually in the 920s on the shelves. Some get shelved elsewhere but most are likely to be here.
Love in the Time of Cholera - by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I did enjoy it but....I just didn't gell with the protagonist...beautifully written book, but when you don't like a character that you're supposed to be cheering for, then it's a bit hard. Idea is gorgeous, setting is gorgeous, loved the character of the female love interest but not the man, thought him dishonourable.

Are you enjoying it? Yes :D I love my epic fantasies, and this is richly detailed and characterised.
Another one here that looooves the Tomorrow Series and Ellie chronicles :) And a die-hard Harry Potter, Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse fan

Ree*Ree - I love the whole Farseer Trilogy & the Tawny Man Trilogy & The Liveship Traders Triolgy!! Love Robin Hobb!! (Except Forrest Mage ****e & not impressed at all with the coninuation of the dragon saga - she should have left a good thing well and truly alone...)

currently reading "the original of laura" written by Vladimir Nabokov (guy who wrote 'lolita'). basically about a promiscuous wife who is betrayed by her one of her lovers and her husband sets out to annihilate himself in fragments...starting with his toes lol! oh gosh, why did i just laugh at that?! :o anyway, i am really enjoying it, but it does take some dedication as it is an unfinished piece as nabokov passed away before its end, so is also fragmented...but it does lend beauty to the similance of the husband....
Im on a bit of an urban fantasy (think supernatural themes, sexy scenes) kick at the moment.

Are you enjoying it? Its like tween vampire fiction but for grown ups lol The characters are all adults, which I prefer to the teenage set in alot of the current vampire/supernatural themed books out there. I think the characters personalities are brilliant, Im nearly finished the book but I can safely say I am a little bit in love with Bones, he can bite me anyday :lol:
If there is anyone else that is a fan of urban fantasy I have a huge list of authors that I am slowly reading, series by series, and I am happy to email them the list if they want some idea's on new reading.
