    Yummy picnic foods

DH and I are considering going on a picnic tomorrow- weather permitting of ourse. I want to take DD to the beach for the first time (I'm So excited, LOL!!).

What are your favourite picnic foods, other than usual stuff like sandwiches and fruit?? I want fairly easy things to make and definately easy to eat! Don't mind cooking things, but it will have to be tomorrow morning that I do that cause I'd have to buy ingredients.

Potato salad is always a winner for me. But then, I'd be happy with anything potato-related. Quiche or fritatta are good too, because you don't really need cutlery (once you've cut the slices, of course).

Oh, and sweet slices for dessert. Nice and easy.

A friend of mine made meringues for our last picnic, and brought along a container of whipped cream and some blueberries. Talk about spoilt!

I like making little cheese and bacon muffins or quiches - they are easy to make, yummy hot, cold or still a bit warm!

Salsa with cut vegetable sticks and crackers are good to snack on. Watermelon is also great, especially if you're thirsting from swallowing too much salt water!

Love Turkish bread and dips on picnics. Easy to make and available in supermarkets if you want to 'cheat'. Also, pikelets, pop corn, dried fruit, banana muffins. Yum, yum!!!!

egg & bacon pies made in either very large muffin moulds or in a piemaker for individual, or a group one. Very easy - shortcrust, then some bacon, onion, peas, eggs. Mix up some cream with grated cheese, pour over. Then some sliced tomato and either puff or filo pastry to top it off.

If there are BBQs there, take some green prawns, pop them into a tupperware container with some olive oil, sliced chili, lots of garlic and some spring onions. BBQ until prawns turn red, pop onto bread rolls.
