We had zucchini lasagne. We're following the gaps diet so that influences what we eat. I put together a fortnightly meal plan with requests from both me and DH. We share the cooking 70% me 30% him I'd say.
I wonder as I serve our dinner tonight what other people are having so... What's for dinner tonight and who decided on what your having?
Also, what influences the decision in what to eat for dinner?
Who cooks in your house?

I've been last minute baking all arvo so I'm having nothing. DS was exhausted and went to bed with out any dinner also. DD1 just had spaghetti and toast.
I used to meal plan, but that fell by the wayside, oh about 10 months ago. Must pull my finger out.
How much sleep I had last night usually influences what we eat, and since there is only one person here able to operate the hot things, I decide...there's only me to cook too.
Dh cooks 90% of the time. I decide on the meal probably 90% of the time though!
I have food sensitivities. There are some foods that react some times and not others so if we want them we have time them for when I'm not working. Work nights we almost always have foods that I can take as leftovers the next day.
Occasionally we give DD a list of options and let her choose
Tonight was simple BBQ. Leftover meat from last night that didn't get cooked. Rissoles and satay chicken. Satay chicken sangas for me for lunch tomorrow. We were planning on having crumbed chicken and veg (pretty standard dinner for a Sunday night) but it was hot so I said we should marinade the chicken and BBQ it. Nothing particularly creative in the decision making. Lol
We are having marinated lamb chops, salad and a side pasta.
It was a joint decision and DH and I share the cooking 50/50 normally when he is home (he works FIFO) and when im not pregnant and tired hahaha. When DH is away at work I try to make whatever is healthy and convienient.
Since being pregnant I have gone off food and cooking so hubby has fended for himself. I used to decide every day![]()
At the moment I decide most of the time what to have for dinner as I am home now and not working. DH and I share the cooking but given I am home more I usually cook most nights. Usually we have roast for dinner on Sundays but it was far too hot so we had honey and soy chicken skewers, spicy pork skewers, garden salad, beetroot salad with goats cheese and potatoes.
My DH enjoys cooking alot so when we were both working he'd do most of the cooking.
We had fish n chips because it's hot and I couldn't be bothered cooking.
I cook 100% of the time, and I decide what we eat. I will always ask DH if there's a meal he'd like/suggestions before I do grocery shopping, but usually he says he doesn't know what he wants, men LOL. He's not fussy though and eats whatever I give him.
I cook four nights, dh cooks the other 3. He cooks whenever he is home for dinner basically. I decide what we eat everyday and at the moment Im doing the 12wbt, so we eat something from it.
I do sometimes let the girls choose what they want for dinner though. Which I did today. Their response, 'christmas salad'. Awesome I say, whats in a christmas salad, I ask. They had no clue, after ringing dh and asking him if he knew what they were asking for, we decided that they must have meant fruit salad, get all the ingredients for that, and guess what they wanted toasted sandwiches in the endThats why I choose the meals

Tonight they had their toasted sandwiches, and I had a cous cous salad.
I do most of the deciding. DH does most of the cooking. We do a monthly menu so we only go shopping once a month for staples & do a fruit & veg shop once or twice a week. DH did last months menu though but didn't do the shopping lists at the same time so we've had to go to the supermarket several times already lol. I usually decide on the menu with input from DH on about 4 meals. I also do shopping lists for the months meals and estimates for what is needed for lunches/breakfasts/snacks. We keep it simple during the week with simple meat & veg meals and mix it up on friday to sunday with stir-fries, curries, soups, and so on. We like to try at least two new recipes a month, but it depends on how we are feeling on the day. We don't always stick to the menu. Which reminds me, I need to get started on January. DH's effort for December has messed up my pantry & freezer lol. (I do appreciate that he did it though) ETA: forgot to answer original question - we had thai style pumpkin soup, chosen by DH & cooked by DH as I was out with the kids.
Me for both. Tonight we had curried sausages so I could make extra for the freezer. But occasionally DH will make something too, but more often during winter. He's discovered the joy of slow cooking so he likes to make something for him to take for work.
We go shopping at the markets once a fortnight, so we kind of plan what we will be eating for the fortnight then (but not what on which night). Often the night before or in the morning we will look at what's left and decide what we feel like. Occasionally neither of us will want to cook so we will just get take away. We both cook, it probably averages 50/50, although sometimes one of us will cook several meals in a row - it always works out though, we both like cooking.
