    Easi-yo and winter

    Hi all,
I hope someone who has a Easi-yo yoghurt maker can help. I am struggling to get my yoghurt to set now that the weather is a bit colder.
I did one yesterday morning and i wrapped it in a couple of towels to try to keep the heat in, and over 24hrs later it's still not set.
Someone suggested i put it next to the hot water cylinder - but that's outside - so it's even colder there!!
Our house is a rental with very high ceilings and it gets freezing cold overnight.

Any hints or tips on how to get it to set??

    Kotare

I had the same problem a few years back.

I emailed them and they said to mix the powder with lukewarm water rather than straight cold water from the tap. Also, make sure the water you add from the kettle is just boiled - so really hot!!

It might take a little longer to set, but it still should set!!

    Hope this helps

Thanks for that. DH woke up and asked what the bundle of towels was on the bench.

I will do what you said and hope for a better result next time.

I thought I was getting reject batches! I will change now.

I also got a recipe the other day on how to make yogurt in the easi-yo using Natural yogurt and milk..rather then the package mix. If anyone is interested let me know and I would be happy to post it in here.

    Cass,

I would like your recipe to make it from natural yoghurt, please.

I followed Kelli's advice and i got the perfect batch. V happy. DH was impressed - a much better consistency. And i made it in the morning as opposed to just before i went to bed, and i think that helped as the house is a bit warmer during the day.
