I love anything in my slow cooker but particularly curries. I enjoy grinding the spices with the mortar and pestle and trying different spice combinations, the way the scent fills the room and the satisfying, relaxing feeling that dinner is cooking itself and all I need is to cook some rice etc and serve at dinner!
Slow cooked lamb shanks (served on mash and with greens). I love the smell filling the house, so warm and comforting. Then watching them cook until they fall off the bone... the lack of effort involved with eating them, then the full, warm tummy and off to bed!
Bread. I love kneading it until it's silky and my arms have had a good workout. Then the smell of it cooking is one of my favourite smells in the world.
chocolate cake.
from scratch.
then making the iceing and if i'm feeling really crappy and have a glut of eggs i'll make custard and maccarunes to go with it.
Pretty much any cooking is therapeutic for me - not so much when DS is stirring, 'taste testing' and spilling everything, lol!
I love my bolognaise that simmers for several hours...mmmmm!
And, for an easy fix, mushroom soup. I love pan frying the mushrooms in garlic and butter, and using the wazzer to pulverise something is always therapeutic, lol!
