We do chicken caesar salad using a BBQ chicken, or we do pies with mushy peas, potato & gravy (yummo!)

Friday nights are my lazy dinner nights. i normally do hotdogs, toasted sanga's, homemade pizza, burgers, taco's, kebabs, oven baked fish/nuggets and chips, lasagne chips and salad, sweet and sour pork with springrolls. Even a simple stirfry is quick enough to whip up.

Spaghetti Carbonara is pretty quick to whip up. Or even just spaghetti with a jar of pesto. You can chuck in any combination of sundried/semidried tomatoes, baby spinach, mushrooms and bacon/ham if you feel like it.

We buy chicken wingettes that have been marinated and bake them in the oven with some wedges and have them with some salad-easy and everyone eats it.

In winter, why not chicken and sweet corn soup? We make this with a bbq (all the meat pulled off the bone), 2 cans of creamed corn and 2 litres of good chicken stock. You can add spring onions, soy/maggi sauce and if you want to get spesh stir in a whisked egg at the end and you can even serve with crunchy noodles. It really doesn't take that long to make (maybe 30 mins) and its fantastic.

Also keep some of those 2 minute rices (the family size pack) and make a quick fried rice, just as quick as tacos.

Another thing is to set the slow cooker up during the week with some porcupine balls, and lift it out of the freezer friday morning, defrost and make your own meatball subs with cheese and olives

When I don't want to cook, especially in winter, I throw together some milkfood. This is a family favorite and SOOOOO easy and quick, I would dare to say it's faster than ordering take-away. You can use it as desert too

This really is comfort food at it's best.
