    Fritatta

So i am going to cook a Fritatta tonight!
and the recipe says to cook it in a fry pan than place it under the grill to cook the top of it!

My question is - can ANY fry pan go in the oven (if it fits) or can i cook this in a cake tin?
(alternatively it can be baked the whole time hence the cake tin idea?)

I use a frying pan with a metal handle.
You could possibly use a plastic handle if you made sure it wasn't under the heat.

I guess you could bake it like a quiche.

Onyx would baking it change the taste of it?

I do have an oven dish but it is oval shape - i could use that could i?

I dunno if baking would change the taste. I fry up some stuff and then when it's cooked I pour the egg over the top so baking it would mean more washing up.

I use my plastic handled frypan & like Onyx said, I just don't out that under the heat. I cook the frittata almost cooked through then just brown the top. I don't think cooking it in the oven would change the taste at all, it might just be hard to judge how long to cook it for.

When I cook fritattas, I always do them on the stove from start to finish. I fry up what I need, stir it into the egg and whatever else, then pour it back into the fry pan. Cook on low heat (so the bottom doesn't burn) with a lid on.
