    Fruit bowls

Does anyone know which fruits you are meant to keep seperate in your fruit bowl.

I remember reading somewhere that there are certian fruits you shouldnt sit together as they ripen each other quickly...

    Is it oranges?
    TIA

It's bananas. They let off some gas with a "p" that ripens the other fruit really quickly.

Think I heard on the radio this week apples do the same as bananas. Also heard you are supposed to separate the banana's when you get them home from the main stalk to keep them longer.

    Interesting!

My fruit never stays in the bowl long enough to go brown. But I am subscribing to this thread anyway as I find this stuff interesting. Sorry I am of no help.

Yeah vinegar flies. I hate them. I use paper towel underneath my fruit which I find helps a bit.
