My fave smoothies always have a frozen banana, milk, yoghurt and flaxseed base, then I add whatever other frozen fruit I have...berries, frozen tinned peaches, frozen mango.

Being dairy free now, I'm learning to enjoy them with a mixture of almond milk, coconut milk (leftover from another recipe usually) and apple juice in place of the milk and yoghurt. Occasionally oat milk.

I don't usually add sweetener, but a little maple syrup, honey or vanilla extract is sometimes 'needed'.

I've never tried green smoothies...are you sure they don't taste too healthy and 'green'?! What's a good 'starter recipe' to ease into the whole green smoothie thing?

LL - DS is pretty poor when it comes to eating fruit and veg and doesn't do sauces or anything sloppy. He'll sometimes do a sip or two of smoothie, but I can rarely get him to drink it a second time. So, I get you on the whole food struggle thing.
