Should I cook it? lasagne sheets

I have just made up a few containers of lasagne for after I give birth. I want to freeze it. My question is now that I've put it together, do I need to actually do the last cook, ie: after I've cooked the meat, bechamel and put it all together. It's only the pasta sheets that are actually 'raw' in it. I would assume it's ok to just let it cool and freeze it now? Then when we want to eat it I will cook it.

Also any other suggestions for easy to make and freeze meals for after birth? I've made some pea and ham soup as well and have some of that frozen, what else could I do? Maybe a chicken dish?

Casseroles, casseroles, casseroles - in the slow cooker are always fab! McCormacks have packet mixes now for the slow cooker, but there is also a slow cooker recipe thread. You can also do some vegie soups etc - healthy when hunger strikes breastfeeding mums! Then you only need to rustle up some carbs to go with it if you wish, potato, rice, couscous pasta etc ...

    hi

Are you using fresh or dry lasagne sheets?
If they are fresh and havent been frozen before, you dont need to cook it.
If you are using dry sheets though you will. Their cooking process once they come out of the freezer will be affected by having been in the freezer.

    Enjoy!

i would suggest the same thing! slow cooker is your best friend - and you make a huge variety of things!!

i've spent the past couple of weekends cooking meals in the slow cooker for DH for work (almost filled the freezer woo hoo!!) - soups are pretty easy, spag bol (we par cook the pasta, and throw it in once it's almost finshed cooking - flavour goes through - can reheat as is, or make into a pasta bake with cheese on top. same deal with chicken in bolgnaise sauce - makes AWESOME pasta bake!! any sort of casserole (slow cooker is awesome!! didi i say that already??)

depending on what you like (and how much room you have) - vegie soups are always good. this weekend i made 6L of vegie soup (pumpkin base, but lots of extra veg, hint of garlic and curry - i can't do plain pumpkin soup!). bulk things that are normally fiddly if you're making them in small lots (like veg in cheese sauce - cook in bulk, freeze in meal sized portions..)

ummmmmm, i'm sure other ladies will suggest some stuff - i've just listed when i've been doing in the last couple of weekends!!!

ooh, as an added suggestion - don't forget if you're someone that likes to have sweet food available, things like cup cakes and muffins can be cooked and frozen for later use...
