    Ice blocks

Summer is almost here and in our home summer is when we make ice blocks/ice pops. What do you put in yours?

We even make them for the dog - frozen chicken stock lol.

    Ice blocks

I made some for the cubs last week. I put mango, watermelon and kiwi. I had some yoghurt that was nearing used-by, so I mixed that with a bit of juice and topped them up with that. Pinterest has some great ones too

If you go there and search for ice pops (or icey poles, or any variation on the name) you may never return, just warning you...

lol. In that case I'll do it after I have everything else I need to do today done.
Or I can send DS1 in after he's finished his homework and make him the executive in charge of ice pop innovations for this summer.

I make frutalicious tea from T 2, cut up whatever fruit we have be it watermelon, citrus, apples pear - bananas are no good- an then put cut up fruit into the icy pole mound then top them up with the cooled tea.

Oooh. I could do grown up ones with caffeinated tea too. I never thought of using tea before

ETA - and if I did some kind of chamomile based one they could have it for desert and it might make bed time more mellow.

Yuuum I haven't made icy poles for years! So inspired right now. Homemade jelly is more my thing. Fresh juice, usually I use apples or pears, gelatine and chopped up fruit.

But I do make doggy icy poles. Raw chicken bones frozen in stock. They LOVE them!

ETA watered down passionfruit pulp is best for the jelly bit rather pricey unless you have a vine.
