So the lemon and passionfruit curd I've been slaving over for Christmas presents looks nothing like the picture. After hours of stirring it looks kind of orange and shiny, almost gelatinous, not light and creamyand custardy like the picture at all. Does anyone know what I could have done wrong?
I'm going to bed now, so sad.

Have you tasted it? Is it made from scratch, using eggs? First thought is that you have scrambled them. The second thought is that you may have burned the yolks with the sugar... Basically, the sugar burns egg yolks, so it is really important to mix them together really thoroughly immediately. If you have scrambled the egg (it will taste eggy) then you have it on too high a heat, not stirred enough, or both.
Have another go in the morning after some sleep xx
