    Dud Pumpkins?

I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten dud pumpkins this year?

I thought maybe I was doing something wrong because my roast pumpkin just wasn't nice and sweet like it normally is, but its happened the last 5 times now and I'm not doing anything different to what I usually do . They just taste bland and mushy, in fact, they don't even taste remotely like pumpkin! I even tried getting them from different places, I tried organic, and growing mode unspecified pumpkins and still the same problem! Both QLD Blue and Kent pumpkins have provided me with no luck Going to fork out and try Butternut next time but I'm not hopeful at this point lol

Am I just really, really unlucky or are the pumpkin growers having a bad season?

I usually only get butternuts (they are the same price or not much dearer where I live), I haven't had any probs with them this year.

Nope. All our pumpkins have been really good. We only really buy Kent.

I brought a piece of Jap pumpkin that tasted bland too. It was awful really and I ended up composting it because you just couldn't eat it. But that was the only time though. All the other times have been good.
